Came to Okinawa this evening for my wedding anniversary with my wife. The food was amazing as usual. Miso soup was great. We shared a spicy tuna roll. 10 out of 10. Customer service was very good as our waitress & chef made sure we had everything we needed. The Ambiance is always top tier. We've been coming for the sushi lunch menu, where you can get a choice of 2 or 3 rolls. The sushi is great - large, nice and full, good amount of rice, tastes great, decent selection. The restaurant added a 20% involuntary gratuity to our bill. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children, one of which was 4 years old. That's ridiculous. The jokes on them though since left to my own devices I would have tipped more AND I also won't be going back. I really didn't care for the spicy tuna roll, which is something I like pretty much everywhere. Got one of the pricier $15 rolls, it was quite good, but I was a little disappointed that it was just a normal sized sushi roll with 8 pieces. My expectations were a little higher for $15. We ordered three House Special Rolls on a weeknight to-go. Overall, all the ingredients in all the rolls seemed to mush together in a bland paste covered in mediocre sauces. The rice in all the rolls had no flavor. There were inedible parts of tough shell in the soft crab tempura. There was almost nothing but rice in the lobster roll, and there was zero taste of lobster. The roll that was supposed to be topped with mango had a stringing, freezer burned tasting orange paste mounded on top. If we had been in the restaurant we would have sent all the rolls back. As it was, we just threw them away. I had no lengthy interaction with the staff, but no one was rude. The local grocery store currently has way better sushi with higher quality ingredients. read more

This is your standard hibachi. We actually decided to eat at the normal restaurant side of the business. The only couple of downside were the salad needed to be drained or spun out before being put in a bowl, and the main course came out way too fast to enjoy the soup (actually good flavor) and salad before the meal was delivered. If I was writing this review just based on the food, it would 4 stars. My only complaint was that the ginger dressing on the salad was a little grainy and the lobster and shrimp hibachi were overcooked. The soup, steak, chicken, and filet mignon hibachi were all delicious. Our chef, however, was a different story. I was in the middle of a conversation when the chef arrived and instead of waiting for us to finish talking or getting our attention in a polite way, he banged his utensils on the grill and stared at us. Now, after that I was expecting a show and that's not at all what we got. He made a half- ass onion volcano, and decided he was done for the day. No jokes, no tossing of the broccoli, and barely even a smile. He didn't ask how anything was and didn't offer any additional yum yum sauce before taking off. He could not get out of there fast enough. We were in a group of 8 so a 20% gratuity was required for this lackluster service. We paid our bills and before half of us had put our credit cards back in our wallets, a woman who I think was the owner or the manager came up to us and asked us if we were leaving or if she could move us to a different table. I understand if we were lingering for a long time on a busy Saturday night, but as I said we hadn't even been there for 5 minutes after we'd paid. For a group of customers who just spent well over $500, I would have expected to be treated better. I'll probably just stick with takeout if I give this place another chance. read more

We had a delicious family dinner out at Okinawa tonight. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly to our medium rare order, and so tender and well seasoned. We loved the soup and salad starters and perfect shrimp tempura and crab Rangoon. Our waitress Michelle smiled and served us well and that added to the fun of going out to dinner. This is the 10th day in a row where I'm sick from eating sushi from this place- had it Doordashed to me, and there's a shit ton of blood in my stool involved now. I been to the ER (was asked to return soon if it doesn't improve, which it hasn't), Medexpress, and gonna see my personal Dr in two days. I love sushi but man did this experience turn me off from it. Now whenever I see it my stomach turns. I'm in so much pain and discomfort like constantly. For about 6 days now I've eaten VERY little bc when I do, it'll make me cramp up 5 mins later, so I'm starving badly, but the cramps are so unbearable that I'd rather starve than deal with them. They tested me for Norovirus and some other virus but ig they came back negative, so I vaguely have the stomach flu of some kind, that's kinda all we know. We're assuming it was either cos of the sushi itself or a sick staff member who made and contaminated it. I'm just so exhausted with dealing with this, I wanna just feel better so bad and eat again. After reading all the negative reviews I wanted to give this place the benefit of doubt. By far the worse sushi I've had. I'll start with the negatives before moving on to the positives. There's only a couple of sushi places in town that are worth trying. Wanted to try this place for the first time. Ordered about five different roles to try. Each roll that came out lack the main protein and rice. Majority of the rolls were stuff with avocado. I wish I would've taken pictures to upload because the rolls were very poorly made. The grocery store pre made sushi would've been better. Not even exaggerating. Can't give a detail review on their hibachi but I could only imagine. It's unclear if you're suppose to be seated or you pick your own seats. Eventually we picked our own seats. We were greeted by different servers because they didn't know who was serving who. Probably just a miscommunication. From the outside the restaurant looks small but it's bigger than expected. Decoration was good but we don't come to a restaurant to look at walls. Came here despite the 1 review. Little did we know that this place has only been opened for 10 days (as of writing of this review). We were pleasantly surprised and I know the restaurant will do very well in the long run. We ordered drunken noodles with shrimp, Yellow submarine roll, Hot Girl roll, Monster Roll, and Gina Roll. Overall, everything was excellent. The drunken noodles definitely had the spices in it. A nice strong kick. The sauce was not overly sweet and they gave us 7 pieces of shrimps. That's a lot in my opinion. The portion is definitely for 1 person. I think for 2 people will not be enough to share. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the ingredients used were fresh (eg nappa and carrots). The Yellow submarine roll was awesome. The mango was not sour, sweet enough to balance out the roll. They also paid attention to detail, the mangoes were thinly sliced and meticulously laid over each other. The Hot Girl roll was well balanced. The avocado was thinly sliced and like the mangoes, were meticulously placed over each other for the entire length of the roll. The roll wasn't too spicy and you can definitely taste the salmon and tuna inside it, i couldn't taste the yellowtail as much but that is to be expected with all these strong flavors. The Monster Roll was tasty. They definitely don't skimp out on the eel. You can definitely taste it and the seaweed they used was very tasty. The Gina Roll was really good. I personally feel that they could use less sauce on the roll to better display the tuna, salmon, or yellowtail (whichever one you choose to be on top). It was difficult for me to taste the lobster. Despite this, the tempura portion of the roll was amazing. It was lightly fried and not overly oily. Definitely a good balance between the meat and batter. Just from this little taste test, I bet their tempuras would be amazing. Service was excellent. The owner came and chatted with us a couple of times. One complaint is that the attention to water level for my glass was overlooked. But then again, you can't expect something like this from this kind of establishment. One interesting thing is that the smoke from the grill on the other side of the restaurant did not come over to the dining area. I was quite pleased with that. One thing I would recommend is to have boba/tapioca at this place. The next nearest place to get it is in downtown, which is like 40ish miles away!! I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come here again. My prediction is that I expect the next time I come back to this place, they will have a solid 4.5 stars. read more

The sister restaurant to Ginger Asian, I must say I was impressed (except for one time, hence the lack of a star, but it was for a tiny reason). The food there is plentiful and very good. I always like their Udon soup as well as it is sauteed. You feel good and ample after having it. For noodle soup lovers, this is a must. Their drunken noodles are also quite tasty. They are not overpowering like Thai Winchester, and not as boring as Sucilee's, but it still leaves a nice kick in the mouth that makes you still feel like you had something to eat. Their sushi was presented very neatly, and did not seem to fall apart when I brought it back. It had a terrific flavor and was certainly willing to try another kind of roll. The prices are what you'd expect for a Sushi Bar, but it was still a nice place to try and will continue to eat there (plus they have discounts on Thursdays, half off sushi I think), and that's already a reason to go there. I'll definitely be ordering here again. This place left a nice imprint on me, somebody who really thinks highly of Asian cuisine. read more

So, this place has a killer sushi appetizer for like 9 bucks if you like sashimi. It's our go to when we order here. But, what makes me avoid this place is the wait time. Everytime i order to go they give me a pickup time but even though i come when they estimate, I'm always waiting much much longer. Butterfly roll, Out of control roll, Nobu roll, Amazing tuna roll, Gina roll, Yellow submarine roll, Frankenstein roll, Hot girl roll, and Godzilla roll. Out of all of that there were only 2 rolls I could stand at all. The Frankenstein and one other but not sure which. There was some weird pepper taste to nearly all of it. Like cheap imitation table pepper. It permeated everything. My husband suspects it must be something in how they make their rice. Anyway. It was awful. Just awful. And one roll with an american/mexican tasting cheap hot-sauce on it. Ugh. The flavors were just muddy and weird. Nothing tasted fresh. If you want good sushi in Winchester go to Chop Stick Cafe or Awabi. We disliked this enough that we will not be wasting our money giving them a second chance. As it is we wound up throwing away 1/3 of our party platter. Usually we crush bigger orders than this happily. But this? No one even wanted to eat it after the first few bites. read more

I love this place! I've had my birthday here twice and let me tell you it's the best place to celebrate your birthday. They have a disco ball light that comes down while they play a really catchy rendition of happy birthday, light a sparkler volcano, and then give you dessert. Their Hibachi grilled food is the best! I've tried their scallops, salmon, steak, shrimp, and chicken on separate occasions and they've all been amazing meals! No one can beat their fried rice either. Getting to watch the chef make the food right in front of you is amazing and to top it off one of the chefs I had was hilarious and made us smile the whole time!
