First of all, I get that nurses were just doing their jobs, and they did great, but every doctor it seems threatened to call DHS and the police because of a false positive. We even brought in the device that gave us a false positive. But we were still threaten with DHS and Police calls because we didn't want our child spinal tapped, and pushed multiple antibiotics over a 48hr time. I get being safe, but this was taking it 10 steps too far.(every test came back negative) Even if he had a serious condition, we would've accepted our stay, but they didn't even tell us what was happening. They didn't tell us about admitting the child until we agreed to do the test(mind you they already used a DHS card). Even when we approached the 24hr mark, we were then told our stay would be 36hrs, and at that mark, it was magically extended to the 28hr mark. We are generally respectful to doctors and their opinions, but when they there is no sign of neglect or abuse, and mentioning DHS the very first time we meet is wild. And then Saint Francis doubled down on the threats if we didn't put our child up for the rest of their tests. My child just wanted to be home, because we weren't even sure if there was anything wrong in the first place(we were just being safe) and all there results came back negative, we were still shamed about leaving. I don't trust the doctors here, they seem like they are trying to achieve a financial goal rather than providing care, and using threats of police and DHS to get their way. read more

The care at this place is NOT CONSISTENT! one day the care is great, the next day they tell u something entirely different. One day they say force the protein shakes, dietician says I'll send one or two automatically every tray. Then u dont get them. You get moved to another floor from ICU, all your thi b is dissapear. Visited a friend while she was being taken care of after a bike accident.. The floor staff and nurses were amazing. This review is for the Labor and Delivery and Postpartum teams at St. Francis Medical Center. My husband and I are a gay couple, and we came to the hospital because this is where our surrogate was scheduled to give birth to our son. Since we were coming from Los Angeles, we weren't sure what to expect or how receptive the experience would be. From the moment we were admitted, any uncertainty immediately disappeared. We were met with incredible warmth, kindness, and genuine support. Every single staff member made us feel welcomed, respected, and included during one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. You can truly tell that the team loves what they do. They bring compassion, professionalism, and heart to every interaction. We never once felt like "visitors" in the process; we felt embraced as parents. The level of care our surrogate received and the care we received as intended parents was exceptional. The team went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable, informed, and supported every step of the way. I had my double mastectomy on October 26th and had a short stay in the hospital. The staff in the area I was in for the surgery(Natalie building OR) and the area I was placed for my stay were absolutely fabulous. Despite being so tightly wound and emotional, they took the time to make the experience pleasant for me and my husband both, as he stayed with me until I was discharged that Friday. We both appreciated how we were treated, with a caring hand. Even though we had a small trip to the ER that Saturday for a drain bulb issue, the care I received was a great experience in the ER as well. Where to begin. I had to take off work for this, and it happened on 9-30-25-I'm fairly new to the city and state from another state and decided to go to the ER here via ambulance due to an injury in my shoulder blade-thinking it could be my heart-it wasn't-when the EMSA picked me up I was in tears, in the worst pain and nausea, when I overheard them say morphine I told them I was allergic to it. So thennnn they decided not to give me anything, not even nausea meds. They started acting weird towards me and the new guy failed at my IV completely and I I have great veins. He missed! Then thought it was right. It was like watching a monkey F a football and he kept almost falling on me! Sooo I finally got to this hospital where they check vitals, rudely re-do the IV-some nurse comes in yelling in my face as she talking to other nurses and is super rough with me to the point where I had to tell her to stop being rough, where she aggressively apologized. I know she saw me pull away from her face as she yelled in it. She didn't care. Then a random lady came, didn't introduce herself at all- told me she would get me some pain medicine and anti nausea medicine, Mind you I could hear all the nurses outside this crappy room complain about this hospital and their jobs. Anywho, the random no name lady never returned and instead they gave me a blanket, an ice pack and threw me out into a FULL waiting room filled with coughing, hacking, barfing, smelly homeless people AND LEFT ME THERE! I could not take the smell anymore or the people--soooo I went to the check in window where I was met by an even ruder man asking me what I wanted. I told him to get this IV out-I WAS LEAVING! He could care less, told me to go to a door where two nurses acted the same way and when I voiced how rude and uncaring this place and the staff were, she half assed apologized, had me sign a waiver so they're not responsible for me and I got the hell out of dodge. I've never been to this hospital nor would I go again or recommend it to anyone. I could tell they were acting as if I were some pill/pain medicine seeker, which clearly I am not. I'm seriously injured with some sort of torn muscle and or a pinched nerve. I'm going to an urgent care place. I'm sure they will be better than this DUMPTRUCK of a place. This review is for the ER 'only'! I had a gall bladder attack in which the pain was excruciating! Since I was in too much pain to drive, I came in by ambulance (wearing a night gown and robe) at about 2:00 am; even though no one knew what my pain was from, the hospital personnel put me in the waiting room for over 5 hours before I got to see anyone about my issue. I finally had a nurse come by so I could ask her if someone was there to see me. A nurse told me that a doctor wouldn't be able to see me until they had made their rounds that morning?!? I was incredulous! I asked if they didn't have any doctors in the ER sections of the hospital and that I had already been waiting for 5-6 hours. She said they did?????? Long story short: I didn't leave the ER until approximately 11:00 a.m. (but I did finally get to see a doctor who told me to make an appointment with a doctor -- not sure 'who' I talked to at that point) --NINE hours after ER admittance. Then I had to see a doctor in his office and was immediately admitted into the hospital where they took out my gall bladder! St. Francis ER section is the absolute worst ER I have ever been in! The south St. Francis is 'rumored' to be better -- I don't know and hope I never have to find out! (I did write a letter to administrators (who seem not to care since I didn't receive a reply) to go incognito to see exactly how their ER is run -- like that's going to happen) read more

Francis S ER, Tulsa, John David Walsh and the two nurses present during my recent admission (via EMSA) for excruciating pain (post-hemorrhoidectomy) need to have their licenses revoked! What in God's name is happening at this facility!? The outrageous lack of care, gross unprofessionalism, constant petty arguing with me, and most utter lack of empathy is on a monumental level that I can only describe as a form of sadism. A secondary condition presented two hours after admission (urinary retention), which I communicated several times to the nurses. Dr. John David Walsh continually refused to allow a much needed catheter. This resulted in 1200 ml of urine (300 - 400 ml is normal capacity of a bladder) finally being drained 4 hours later by Shawneen, the supervising nurse. I am grateful that she agreed that I did indeed require cathertization and performed this procedure in spite of Dr. John David Walsh's and the two nurses protest!! The two nurses initially present were Rocckelle and Kamie, both early twenties. As Shawneen walked past the nurses station with the FULL bag of urine, these two nurses laughed!! This was witnessed by my sister, who had gotten up to see their reaction! What has happened with the young people that they think this behavior is acceptable!? The level of immaturity and lack of empathy from these individuals was off the charts! Their snotty, arrogant, submissive, argumentative, rudeness, and poor listening skills caused more harm than good. The belitteing and badgering from Dr. John David Walsh and the aforementioned nurses was astounding, adding insult to injury to the drawn-out timeline. I asked the supervising nurse to remove the Dr. And both nurses from my care (lack of), which she did. THANK YOU, Shawneen! I ill contest all insurance claims associated with this event! I Would file criminal charges if it weren't for the supervising nurse who, upon my insistence, stepped up and provided the care and procedures I needed since arrival, (while begging for six hours) thereby avoiding a ruptured bladder. Thank you, Shawneen! I am very grateful for you and wish you the best. Dr. John David Walsh had the audacity to blame his failure to provide prompt and reasonable care on ME in his discharge notes!! Unacceptable! I would ask that Dr. John David Walsh review the meaning of the words Emergency, empathy, and professionalism. Perhaps a review of the Hippocratc Oath is in order as well. read more

I went with a friend to the ER today. We got there at 9:30 AM and it's 9:19 PM and they still haven't admitted this into a bed or sent us home or allowed us to see a doctor. If you love your friends and family don't go here! From listening to the nurse Dr. Money was on call, but I'm sure he's long gone by now. Wish they had more doctor staff and more rooms and more nurses that were actually supporting patients- And not corralled around a monitor giggling every time we go in for a blood pressure monitoring. 06/18/2023 my 87 year old mother was brought in by ambulance and the er was extremely busy so my mom was left on a gernie for 24 hours in the hallway of the ER without food or water they would stop and give her pain pills, and thats all the water she would get. So sad. They rolled her in for x-ray, then cat scan said she broke 2 bones in pelvis. Not sure yet the ending to this for her. I have only had bad horrible results from this hospital! I had a rather scary experience here and will be finding other emergency options in Tulsa. I went in excruciating pain in my lower back and hip, unable to sit, stand, lie down without mind numbing pain. After a blow off Dr's visit at the Warren Clinic across the street, I limped into the St Francis Emergency Room as a last resort. The intake nurse was EXCELLENT and took one look at me and said- "sounds like you have a pinched nerve or sciatica or something. Well be prepared to wait a few hours, but we will get you taken care of". Resigned to wait in pain, I went back out to the waiting area and was called to the back about 30 minutes later by a young woman who didn't have a clipboard or any paperwork and just ushered me into a room and closed me in.. She came back a few minutes later, again with no paperwork without checking my name or anything, and started to hook me up to a telemetry system. So she said "you're in here for chest pains right?". I said no and I went through all of the symptoms again but she wasn't writing anything down in the computer or on paper or anything and then she just floated off. About 30 minutes later a male nurse came in and said "you're here as a St. Francis emplooyee on Worker's Comp., right? No? Well that's what they said you are." Not sure who they is, I proceeded to go through everything and made him check my name and other information to make sure I was being treated as the right person in the right place. After waiting about 25 more minutes he came back to check on me and hook me up to a blood pressure monitor and an oxygen monitor. I asked him if I could have a glass of water and he said "no you're going to be in surgery later." This was alarming to me. I did not want to walk out of there with a cracked chest or a missing appendix because at this point I had no confidence that they knew who I was or what I was in there for. I waited about 10 or 15 minutes getting more and more nervous about the situation no one checking on me even when my blood pressure alarm went off for about five minutes and no one ever came to check it. At this point I had no faith in this establishment. So I took off my blood pressure cuff and oxygen monitor, put my clothes back on and walked out the front door. The next day I flew to Denver in excruciating pain, I do not even know how I survived that flight. I went straight into the emergency room in Denver and within 25 minutes had x-rays and was being hooked up to pain relief for a herniated disc and sciatica. As a newcomer to Tulsa, this lack of care and carelessness with the patient information is absolutely terrifying and I will not use the Saint Francis hospital or urgent care again. The café has stated hours they are supposed to be open. However, they close early on a regular basis. It's inconvenient for family and friends of patients. It is extremely inconvenient for hospital staff that are trying to get away and take lunch before the cafeteria closes. When the cafeteria closes early, it results in employees not being able to eat during a 12 hour shift. Many of the departments in the hospital are poorly managed, would it be too much to actually keep the cafeteria open during the posted hours? read more

After visiting my mother-in-law in the ICU, I tried to leave the hospital the way I came in and they have the entrance lock after 7 pm. (No one told me when I arrived that I wouldn't be able to leave the way I came.) I couldn't even leave through the door, I felt locked in. I ended up have to walk through the main entrance and walk around outside to get to my car while it's dark out. It took over than 30 minutes to get back to were I parked. My husband was at the Dermatology Dept for Mohs surgery at 9:00 a.m. yesterday. He said it was total chaos. The procedure was delayed as the doctor was in a meeting with several nurses. It was very loud as they appeared to be arguing. They then came into the room where my husband was and continued arguing until one of the nurses stormed out. My 95 year old mother was admitted to the Heart Hospital on Monday 1/20/23 due to a heart attack. She was in ICU room 4415 and all the nurses, nurse aides, and doctors were exceptional. If i could give 0 stars i absolutely would. This hospital is the worst when it comes to the care of patients and they are rude and disrespectful. We took my husband to the ER last night he wasn't holding any fluids or food down and he had a yellow tint, when we first got there they checked him in rather quickly and got him started on IV fluids. After he went to talk to the nurse cause the bag was empty and the iv line began to fill up with blood they took off the bag sent him back to the waiting room and we continued to wait. After about 3 hours they called him back for a cat scan and returned him to the waiting room. The nurse explained that the results should be in about half an hour to a hour we wait another 3 hrs and still had heard nothing about his results. The place was very dirty and un organized. My husband went to ask if they had heard anything from his cat scan considering the lady had given him a time limit, the lady at the front desk begin to tell him "there are people here who have been waiting for 14 hours you are not the most critical patient we will call you back when we feel it's necessary." Eventually after 7 hours of waiting my husband decided he no longer wanted to wait so he asked them to remove his IV. The proceed to do so and she then tells him he is able to call later on and get the results for his cat scan so he does not have to come back. We leave and then call about 8 hours later and they tell us that they can not give him his results he will have to come back and wait once again. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE!! read more

Worst ER I have ever been to! There are no sanitary precautions they don't room you they send you out into the waiting lobby. There was a gentleman here who got into a car wreak having to wear a neck brace and they are making him sit in the WAITING ROOM!!!!! A lady had no mask on and was coughing all over the chairs in the waiting room even laying on the floor spitting everywhere and leaving her trash everywhere from 3p till 2am they never came to clean anything! I literally have kidney stones and was here for 10plus hours I live in OKC and had to drive here because it's in my insurance! St. Francis created a duplicate account for our family then closed it, leaving a balance and never reporting the balance to us or transferring it to the other active account. Both accounts have the same names, address, phone etc. The balance on the account we could never see was sent to collections.The account we can see has a zero balance and always has, and anyone who has had medical care is listed on the visible account. When asked why, they have lied and said they tried to contact us though phone and email about the balance, though our phone and email records prove other wise, and they can provide no proof on their end of any contact. Their billing also said in the same conversation they sent us paper statements and in the same breath said they haven't sent us a paper statement since 2018. I presented to SF ER Oct/2023 with difficulty breathing. They ran several tests on me and told me nothing was wrong with my heart or lungs and sent me home still with breathing difficulties, which was related to one of the tests they ran on my blood; a high venous pCO2 and bicarb. Instead of looking into the cause for this, I was dismissed. Unfortunately, I was entering into a Myasthenic Crisis and finally weeks later admitted to SF ICU. In retrospect, I would admonish ER physicians to dig deeper into abnormal VBG parameters when presented with such, as it could save lives. read more

I was brought here by ambulance on Dr's orders 4 hrs ago. I'm diabetic and short of breath, been throwing up with diarrhea for 5 days and am severely eled me in saying to pull the cord when I finishdehydrated. The emts said I was tachycardia. I still have not seen a doctor. I asked to go to a bathroom and the nurse wheed. The cord didn't work and was locked in the bathroom calling for help for about 15mins. I managed to stand up and open the door and a police officer heard me and came to my rescue. At this point, although I had already been trialed, no one has put a bracelet on me, that they just took me to the waiting room. They wouldn't listen to a word I had to say. When I asked what was going on, every single person gave me a different excuse...they even said that they were waiting for my stool and urine samples. No one asked for samples! It never fails that St. Francis will send a balance they think I owe to a debt collector without even notifying me that I owe anything. They will claim they called and mailed me about it but I will have received NOTHING. Despite the fact that I have an online account with them with a payment method set up to auto pay, I still receive a collections notice out of the blue. Additionally, it is apparently impossible for them to consolidate their billing. If you have a procedure done here you will inevitably receive a separate bill from the doctor, the radiologist, the lab, the ER, and probably the receptionist who took your information down. If I did not have to use St. Francis because of insurance I would not ever go there again. read more
