Stopped here for lunch as we travel from the RGV to Dallas. Good food, friendly staff, fast service, peaceful and calming eating place. You get your moneys worth. Over all nice place to stop and eat. Would highly recommended.

Just in the town square of Blanco. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. They have an island on the way to the cashier with bottled beer, soda and water. They have happy hour drafts as well. It's a bit pricey, but the food is good! We had 3 large pork ribs and about a half pound of waygu brisket. The smoke is so good! 2 choices of BBQ sauce: spicy and sweet.

We arrived around 12 on a Monday and it looked busy as all the parking spot were full. We had to park a block away on the street. When we walked in, there was no line, multiple tables still free and lot of people were leaving. Guess we missed the lunch rush. We looked at the menu and there was a lot to choose from. The Wagyu brisket was already sold out...wondering if that is that is their prize meat. Guess I'll have to come back and try it one day. The drinks are can soda, tea, water or lemonade (sold out). Each member of our family got the Lunch special: meat sandwich, one side and a drink for $15. My husband got the pork sandwich and the seasoning on the outside was salty, but I'm sure it blends well when you take a bite with lots of meat from the middle. I got the brisket sandwich and it was meaty and tender. The bbq sauces were spicy or original. To me the regular tasted better. The spicy was a bit watery and didnt feel as spicy as I thought it would be. Our sides were the mac & cheese and cream corn. The mac was ok but I could taste the pasta more than the cheese. I felt it either needed to be more saucier or needed more cheese and it would have been perfect. The cream corn was amazing. It had a lot of sauce, pepper and flavor. My youngest got french fries. These were the best french fries I have had in a long time. They were hot, crunchy on the outside with soft potato on the inside. They were fat cut too. The dining area had a lot of signs and Texas decor. On the table was a sign to go dino hunting. There is a dinisaur hidden and if you find it, you get a free dessert. We didnt find it of course. Overall this would be a place I would stop in again, if I am ever in the area.

I've wanted to try this place but a while as I've heard great things about it. My wife and I went to Blanco for a Valentines Day together in the rain. It was good. The Angus brisket was tender but they're Mac and cheese (not the BBQ Mac and cheese), was just normal. However, I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Of course the company as well!!

Pretty disappointed with this place. I was looking forward to trying it. Service was terrible from the start. The lady at the front counter seemed like she would rather be anywhere else than dealing with people. You could tell it was a spot for "locals" and people passing through got the step child treatment. Someone in my party ordered a chopped brisket sandwich and we were told there was a $1 fee for chopping the brisket. I have never heard of anything so outlandish before. Aside from the service, the food wasn't very good either. Make sure to have a fresh drink with you to wash down all of the dry meat they serve. Glad I finally got this place checked off of the Texas BBQ bucket list because it was the first and last time I will be there.

Humongous portions! Tender and delicious!! Sandwich piled high with sliced meat. Easily 2 servings, maybe 3. Potato equally as huge 2 meals. I enjoyed being able to make my own Arnold Palmer so I got the portions exactly how I wanted.

Fantastic BBQ in Blanco! Stopped in during our trip and had the best brisket sandwich I've ever eaten -- perfectly smoked with that true pit flavor. The sides were awesome too! My husband had the chopped brisket sandwich, which was just as delicious. Great food, friendly folks, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Blanco!

Event room tables decorated for a wedding rehearsal dinner

We used Old 300 BBQ for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and we seriously could not have been happier. They have a private event room that's separate from the main restaurant, and it was exactly the vibe we were going for--rustic, warm, and inviting. From the moment we started planning, Shelly (the event coordinator) and the rest of the team were incredible. They made sure every detail was taken care of, and their hospitality and service were top-notch throughout the night. Everything turned out beautiful, and the whole experience felt effortless thanks to them. And the food is absolutely amazing!! We were able to offer our guests four types of meat, four sides, and three dessert options, and everyone raved about how delicious it all was. I highly recommend the banana pudding! It turned out to be a truly spectacular night, and Old 300 BBQ played a huge part in making it perfect. If you're looking for a place to host an event in the area, we highly recommend them. And we'll definitely be back next time we're in town to grab a meal in the restaurant!

Been working out of this area for over 20 years and this is old reliable when the idea of bbq gets in my head. 300 does not cater to visitors so read the room order up put the phone away and enjoy every bite of superior bbq.

We visited this nice restaurant in the Summer and I never posted it. Our friends and taken us to a distillery nearby and we went for dinner. It happened to be right after Shelly Duvall passed. They say she used to visit often there as it was her home town. The bbq was unbelievably good!! Not really hard to guess as it has been around forever. I would say if you are in the Blanco area, please do yourself a favor, don't miss supporting this friendly spot and don't miss your opportunity to eat this great food. I would 100% recommend.

Crazy good food! I can see why it's so popular. The food comes out quick and is fresh!

After scrolling through dozens and dozens of reviews, it became apparent that this place is doing something right despite just three poor reviews that can be dismissed. I have to admit this place does have a country charm about it, and I was surprised there was only about a dozen tables inside and about the same outside. As soon as you enter, the order counter is right in front of you along with an iced down beer table with soft drinks, water, and beers. They do have a happy hour and daily specials. Once you place the order with a credit card , they'll flip the tip screen over with the tip percentages. Your receipt comes in the form of an email with the breakdown when you use your card. Whether you're dining in or get it to go, the sides come in plastic containers, including the blackberry cobbler which was smashed into a container beyond recognition. Unfortunately, the side of pinto beans were utterly flavorless and lifeless with nothing like brisket or peppers to add some life to them, avoid this item. The coleslaw was the typical mediocre offering I've had numerous times before, not bad, just tired of it. We got the brisket sandwich and it basically comes on a glorified toasted hotdog bun. As I started digging in to a sampling of some of their meats, I found the waygu brisket (which you pay extra for) to be dry with not much of a smoke ring and 20% fat. The brisket on the sandwich was a little more moist and fared better. However, the stars of the show were the St. Louis style ribs which were perfectly smoked, moist and large (no baby backs here). The smoked turkey breast is also something else we'd recommend because it was tender and juicy with just the right amount of smoke. Their sausage did have some decent spiciness and it was meaty, but a little on the dry side. Some things were really good, but not everything was which means no five stars from me, but a good acceptable 3 1/2 stars. If I could do it all over again, I'd purchase a rack of the ribs for $60 and a half pound of turkey which would have me slapping down 5 stars. A few photos included for more insight.

Very rustic country location and once inside you know you are in a Texas country BBQ. Staff was friendly and helpful choosing our food. They suggested going with the family portions to share which was perfect. For 3 people we ordered 1/2 lb each of lean brisket (moist also available), turkey, and garlic sausage. For sides we went with coleslaw and charro beans. Way too much food for us, but perfect for a large leftover plate. Consensus of all three of us was: -Brisket had a perfect blackened crust, with a good red smoke ring. Very little fat and still very moist meat. 7 of 5 stars! -Turkey was well seasoned, very flavorful, and smoked to perfection. 6 of 5 stars! -Garlic sausage was the home run here. When we ordered they only had the garlic one left. I was hesitant to order expecting a strong garlic flavor. It was the perfect garlic hint of flavor with the amazing in-house made sausage. Outer skin had a snap when you bit into it and the flavor of the sausage is a melody of bbq flavor that overwhelms the taste buds. 10 of 5 stars! -Coleslaw was vinegary with some fresh sliced red pepper and fresh jalapeños which was a good touch. 5 of 5 stars. -Charro beans were flavored to perfection. 5 of 5 stars. -And we can't forget the bbq sauce. This was the perfect pairing for the meat. Obviously house made with the perfect balance between spicey and sweetness. Wife and I both said it was the best we ever had. Blows away the sauce from our favorite bbq location here in San Antonio. Another 10 of 5 stars! Fresh squeezed lemonade for all of us and they brought us free refills. Every bbq joint in Lockhart can hold their own for special reasons. I moved to Las Vegas over 14 years ago. My husband really wanted to try Terry Black's. I was a bit iffy because of course I knew the bbq in Lockhart but the vibe was really cool and the way bbq should be eaten so I gave in. The huge smokers are outdoors and you can see the action. They put the wood they use to smoke on display and they have indoor, outdoor covered seating and outdoor uncovered seating. On Sunday they even had a live band playing outdoors. We walked inside and started with the sides. The Mac and cheese looked good and I like the larger noodles, cream corn and potato salad were our other two sides. We also ordered peach cobbler for dessert. Then we got to the bbq. There was no ask if we wanted lean or moist. You are just going to get 'darn good' brisket. Today is not the day to worry about calories. Our meat guy was super friendly and cut our meats perfectly. He was very generous & genuinely excited about us trying our food. We ordered half of each of the regular and jalapeno cheese sausage, & a beef rib. This beef rib was the size of my forearm! I tried to say nevermind because that thing was a Flintstone bone but my son said we could eat it. On to our seats and eats.....first pull of the brisket with my fork and it was literally melting. I could barely pick it up with my fork. Well this is why you should use your hand! Dang.....I am a Texas girl and this place is hands down the BEST brisket I have ever had!! Just....WOW!!! I had a hard time eating it with bbq sauce as it was cooked to perfection and didn't need a thing. It was the star of the plate! The HUGE beef rib was good and came right off the bone. It was a bit salty on the outside parts for us but still delicious. The sausage was incredible. It melted in our mouths. I didn't even know meat could do that. The flavors were amazing. The sides held their own as the Mac and cheese was so creamy and didn't have that cheddar grit. I would have to say it is my new favorite Mac and cheese. I took a bite of my cream corn and was amazed at the flavor. I was expecting a corn flavor with a flavor thickened sauce but this was a flavor bomb & I was in love. The potato salad was good but not my favorite. The other two sides did just fine on their own. I hate to say I didn't really like the peach cobbler. I grew up with peach trees in our yard and my southern mom made a smoked peach cobbler that no one has ever been able to duplicate. I didn't have any problem going back to eating that brisket as my dessert though. The BBQ sauce.....oh gosh. They have 3 different ones: original, spicy, and sweet. They were all great. Nothing overly tangy or too powerful to mask the meat. It is a perfect compliment to your bbq if you decide to use it. Trust me! You will be just fine without it also. This is the best bbq place in Texas. I will be sad to go back home to Vegas and will wait for my next trip to Texas just so I can come to Terry Black's again.

The employees were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Great customer service like that really makes a difference. The food was absolutely delicious. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was a 10/10--full of flavor with a nice spicy kick that wasn't overwhelming. The regular sausage was also a 10/10 and just as impressive. The brisket was juicy, tender, and loaded with flavor in every bite. For sides, we tried the macaroni and cheese with bacon, and it was phenomenal. Rich, creamy, and easily one of the best sides I've had. The jalapeño rice was something I've never had before, and it was surprisingly unique and incredibly good. Overall, Pinkerton's Barbecue delivered amazing food and exceptional service. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great barbecue.
