I'd definitely come back because the quality of the gelato was excellent. The only area that could use some improvement was the customer service flow. When we walked in, there was one employee working, a customer with three young children who was taking quite a while deciding on flavors, and another customer who appeared to be waiting to pay. I don't know how long he had already been waiting, but by the time he finally paid, he had nearly finished eating his gelato. While the family was still deciding, the customer herself kindly told us to go ahead and place our order so she wouldn't keep holding us up. We appreciated that gesture and stepped up to order. I ordered chocolate and stracciatella. When I asked for chocolate, the employee asked if I was sure and whether I'd had it before. She did offer me a sample, which was thoughtful, but it caught me off guard since I wasn't expecting to have to justify my flavor choice. I also asked if they had cones, and she said they didn't. She then asked what size cup I wanted. I replied that I'd like one scoop of each flavor, not realizing the scoop count and cup size were separate choices. It took a couple of exchanges before I understood what she meant. A little more explanation upfront would have made the ordering process much smoother. After our gelato was prepared, I expected we'd be able to pay and move on. Instead, the employee immediately went back to helping the family continue sampling and deciding on flavors before ringing us up. By the time we were finally able to pay, my husband had almost finished eating his gelato. The employee was genuinely friendly and patient, especially with the family, and I understand it's not easy managing everything alone. I just think some additional training on balancing multiple customers--such as quickly checking out customers whose orders are already complete before returning to someone who is still deciding--would make the experience much smoother for everyone. Overall, the gelato was delicious, the shop was clean, and I'd happily come back. I just hope the service flow improves because the product itself is definitely worth the visit. read more

Wow what a great experience! There is a cute outdoor deck to sit and enjoy your sweet treats. No seating indoors. There are a bunch of interesting flavors to choice from. I can't remember everything we tried but we definitely had the pistachio, peanut butter stracciatella, and citrus crema. Everything is soooo good! The ice cream made with water buffalo milk is super thick, rich, and creamy! It was totally worth the one hour drive to give them a try. I believe it was $6.50 for one scoop and $8.50 for two. For a short trip up 281 N. outside of San Antonio, this is the best place to get fresh, local gelato. The service is always amazing, everyone is super friendly and it is always so nice and clean inside and out. It is very brightly lit and vibrant, and I love the cobalt blue and bright yellow decor. They have seasonal flavors and let you sample the flavors before deciding. They also have a great selection of cheeses, marinated olives, and coffee drinks. Well this is definitely a dessert spot that you have to stop at. This was the best gelato I have ever had. It may be the water buffalo milk but it was the creamiest I have ever had. Party of four Customers arrived at the Oro Bianco Italian Creamery at 530 Main Street in Blanco Texas. This place has many great delicacies! I recommend it to everyone! HOWEVER! They advertised "Italian" Gelato! Having vacationed and traveled throughout Italy last year for over eight days I KNOW GELATO! We were also a "Different" Party of four with a 12 day stay May-June 2024 in Germany, Austria and Italy with the majority of the stay and travel was from Northern Italy to the Italian Amalfi Coast. Why do I bring that up? Because everywhere we went I tried True Italian Gelato at different Vendors throughout Italy. I ate it at least 2-3 times a day at different cities. Bottom line about the Gelato at Oro Blanco; it was not bad but it would never compare to real Italian Gelato! Why? This Gelato at Oro Blanco had too much salt and it tasted that way. My wife agreed BUT she liked it because of the salty taste! However, she didn't eat 2-3 Gelatos from different Vendors a day like I did! Wow! True Italian Gelato is Superb! Oso Blanco Gelato was not sweet or as good as the real Italian Gelato. Bottom line for me, I will visit this place for its other fabulous delicias they sell! I highly recommend it! I'm Italian, and have sampled some of the best from all around the US and other countries. What I liked best about the Mint Stracciatella (mint chocolate chip would be the comparable) is that it is so smooth and creamy. The only negative would be the size of the location, since one of the strengths is that it always has large crowds (especially in the summer). Some were from regular cows milk. They were out of the fresh, WB Cheese except for a spiced one which I tried. I just wanted the original so I thought I'd call before I come back to check on the supply. I ended up just purchasing the fresh, salted butter which was nicely wrapped in a ball in the fridge. The fridge also had beverages to purchase. Next to the fridge was a variety of gourmet snacks, infused Texas Hill Country Olive Oils & Balsamic Vinegars, seasoned nuts like Truffle Marcona Almonds, Pecans & Moka Nuts, Salami, Sardines & Mackerel, wine, local seasonings, caramel & even some gadgets. When we walked inside we were immediately greeted by the friendliest faces ever. The woman behind the counter had such great energy and told us all about their process of using local Water Buffalo to produce everything you see inside (minus the coffee lol). We were able to have samples of ice cream, cheese and meats. I did try just about every flavor they have for March, and I have to say, I ended up getting the French Vanilla because of how smooth/buttery/creamy it was. The inside of the shop can get a little crowded with 5 or 6 customers but the people working the counters know how to handle it well. Worth the stop on our way to Corpus Christi. Almost missed it, but my girlfriend's persistence won. Pulled in and could not have asked for a better experience! Dylan was great with his knowledge of the products and the company. His heart to serve was so evident and we were blessed to have him help us! We talked all the way to the bottoms of our gelato cups. Last Saturday, we had gone to Dripping Springs for a day trip. On our way back to San Antonio, I thought of stopping by for ice cream. One of the places near Blanco has permanently closed so we looked for another option. Orobianco (White Gold) was not far off our route home. It's actually not only an ice creamery but also a meat shop though on a hot day the customers were all in for the gelato. It's not a very big store so with about 6 people in the line, not much wiggle room. It did give me time to check out the flavors and decide what I wanted to get. I love the combo of strawberry and chocolate so I chose the strawberry stracciatella which was devine! For the small, I wanted to try 2 flavors so the other one was peach. It was ok but not as good as the strawberry stracciatella. Aside from the gelato and meats, they also had different coffees but I didn't try this time around. A must-stop at Blanco, Texas! read more
