Met my son and his family for what we thought would be a good meal but was very disappointed in everything. It took about 45-50 minutes to be seated and then about 40 more minutes to get our food. I wanted to leave but other in our party wanted to wait it out. My food was cold and so was another in our party. The tacos were good and hamburger good. I understand that things happen that are beyond the owners control but they could have at least given us a discount or maybe a free appetizer while acknowledging the delay. We found out later that they were short handed. But wish they would have told us this upfront so we would at least know what we were in for. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]They have great area for larger groups, and even though we were a group of 10, they very easily accommodated a larger party at the same time, and there was plenty of room for more.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Smaller tables were closer to the front so the large groups didn't bother/overwhelm with the noise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had several shareables for the table including the pimento cheese balls, the Bavarian pretzel, and the loaded bar chips that could have easily been a meal themselves. I had the Reuben (surprise) and the sweet potato fries. The were a treat, and after all the shareables, I was able to take some fries and part of the Reuben home with me. 5 star review for a great Friday afternoon lunch. I stopped by while working in the area. They have a large lunch menu with many options. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT with fresh pork rinds. When it came out, the server notices the park rinds didn't look puffy enough, so she asked me to try them and let her know if they were okay. They were too tough, very hard, so she went.baxk and had them made a new batch fresh. She noticed there was a problem and fixed it quickly. It was had t to find this location due to.poor signage outside. It looks like they might be remodeling the exterior, so hopefully they fix that. We sat outside, no servers. Had to order from the bar. Our food was brought out along with our appetizer (!) with no silverware. When asked about the silverware, we were told by the wait staff, we would have to go to the bar to get our own silverware ! At the bar, we had to wait for them to get the silverware from the kitchen. Wow! Food and drinks were unbelievable. My husband and I got 2 draft beers and a pretzel with beer cheese to share. I audibly said "oh my gosh" at the first bite because it was so good! Get a reservation around dinner time and on the weekends a day early. Great service, friendly all around from the bar to the table. Had a fantastic burger with everything on it including fried green tomatoes. Asked cheddar beer sause in the side to dip those crispy fries in. Our first visit to an OBBB Tuesday evening for takeout was a mixed bag. Hubs ordered the takeout and off we went to the newly opened brick and mortar. He went inside and I waited in the car, staring at the shiny bright beer vats [I think that's what they are called.] The goodness was, the hubs really liked the layout and interior of the restaurant. Also, it did not take him long to return with the order. And the meals smelled delicious in the car on the drive home!! My tacos were really good! Taco Peligro is the name of this dish. Tender fajita meat was delicious! It was topped with a siracha aioli [not my favorite but not a deal breaker], some mashed avocado and a little pico de gallo. The order had a glitch because my husband ordered it with French fries and it came with what looked like house made potato chips. These chips were good but just doused with salt! They held up their freshness on the ride home, and I ate the taco 'insides' atop some of the chips. The hubs stopped eating red meat years ago and wanted an Impossible Burger patty; however, the server could not understand, despite my husband repeating it 4-5 times. We ended up with a beef hamburger on thick bread, maybe sourdough? It also had pickle slices that tasted slightly like wickles, and the beef patty, although a good size, was terribly salty. The other items on the burger were a slew of caramelized onions and an unnaturally colored cheese which disappeared overnight in the fridge. Probably soaked into the bread, which I threw away because it was so soggy. I don't know if he was charged for the burger and I didn't look at the receipt, but he was surprised to see the burger in the fridge the next day. Hubs also got a Hot Honey Chicken sandwich. Both his orders came with French fries. These fries are thin - not exactly pencil thin, but not a lot to the fries. I thought they were disappointing. Hubs doesn't drink and I don't drink beer, just wine and it looks like they have a full bar. I am happy OBBB opened their second store, especially since it's so close to our house! This restaurant should really fill a niche in Athens and be a very popular place. I hope we can return and dine in and I wish them well! read more

My girlfriend and I showed up a little late -- they technically closed at 10, but they still seated us and served us all the way until 10:30 without rushing us once. That alone says a lot. I had the 16 oz ribeye -- absolute insane value and cooked just right. She had the chicken fettuccine alfredo, which was creamy and flavorful. But the standout? WORLD CLASS WINGS. Garlic parmesan and honey sriracha -- hands down the best wings I've had in Alabama. I'm from Los Angeles, and honestly, it's not even close. Our server, Will, was a total pro. Quick, attentive, always watching out for the table, making sure drinks were full and the whole experience was top-tier. Decided to review after my third good visit. Outstanding service from Summer, my server on more than one visit. Pimento cheese balls were mediocre--still cold in the middle. Blue cheese burger was cooked perfectly, exactly how I ordered it, and it was absolutely delicious. My husband's mushroom Swiss burger was just as good. Fries are not my fav, but he loved them. The food was another story. $18 for a burger and fries, ok, not the worst, given these economic times; but the fries came out limp, dark brown, lukewarm, and old. The burger was on a cheap potato bun, the patty looked to be the frozen kind (perfectly shaped), and I specifically asked for blue cheese crumbles, not dressing, was assured it was not dressing, then when I pointed out that it was obviously dressing, the bartender told me it was for sure crumbles, and they "melted". I've been a cook by trade for decades, and I know what blue cheese dressing and "melted" blue cheese looks and tastes like, so to have him look me in my eyes and repeatedly, knowingly lie was a bummer. I ate a few bites and a couple fries, and set it aside. I offered no big complaints or demands, but told him my opinion, and the bartender did offer to have them remake it. I declined, but hoped he would've taken something off my tab. Nope. In fact, I was charged $2 extra for the "blue cheese" in question, lol. The woman next to me also barely touched her " grilled artichokes" (looked canned, not hand trimmed), and complained, as well. All that said, I would go back there if friends asked to meet there, but not likely on my own, and definitely just for beer. It's a shame because the place sounded and looked pretty cool. read more

When it came it was raw (rushed the poached eggs). I would like to try this place but there is NO handicap parking. A gravel parking lot is impossible. The incline on the street is also not a possibility. If you are in a wheelchair with no help this place is off limits. read more

Stopped in while in town for brunch. They had plenty of menu options that looked delicious but unfortunately, they missed the mark. My husband and I I both had omelettes but both are undercooked where you could literally see the eggs running on the plate where it was not edible. On the road back home, found it on Yelp. Arrived to an industrial, almost hidden front door. A friendly family coming out the door said it was a good place. We were seated quickly in the large airy back room, with a pleasant server Laura B. We had 2 nice Old Fashioneds using the house-brand bourbon. Went for the first time today. Ordered the following: Cuban sandwich=7/10 (a bit too much mustard and wasn't pressed but good overall), Reuben Sandwich=8/10 (Same size as Arby's twice the price, but tastes better than fast food), Fries=7/10 (standard seasoned fries, crispy and good), Bar chips=6/10 (seasoned kettle chips, fries are better IMHO), Pretzel with cheese=10/10 (pretzel was amazing, beer cheese/mustard just good), Fried green tomatoes=8/10 (a little too much pimento cheese, but spicy jam was excellent), Chocolate chunk blondie = 10/10 (honestly the star of the show, highly recommend. I'd go back just for this), ordered the catfish plate to go for a friend so I didn't try it, but it looked and smelled good lol. Service was great. My glass was kept full and even though the menu says they might take time with the orders, everything came out quickly. The ambiance is kind of industrial meets cozy cabin. The place was clean, including bathrooms during lunch time which is rare. Women's bathroom had trouble getting the sink on, but men's room was fine. Lots of couches for waiting and lounging with drinks, including outside. Big and open - the opposite of cramped. They could probably squeeze in another 5 tables if they wanted. As for the cons, if you have accessibility issues, the parking lot may be a problem. It's gravel and not flat, so if you use a walker, wheelchair, cane, or have weak ankles, this might be difficult. They've only recently opened so that might be something they renovate soon, but for now it's sloped gravel. Once you're inside it's smooth concrete though. I would complain that the prices are a bit steep, but it seems that's everywhere not just here. You see my order above. 3 entrees, 2 appetizers, 1 dessert, and 2 drinks was about $100 including tax and good tip. I suppose about $35/person not bad in this age of inflation. Also, they got an 88 on their health score. I tend not to visit places that get less than a 90. Considering everything I saw was clean, I can only assume this is a kitchen issue. These cons are why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5. But overall a good experience. read more
