Nice brewery that opened in 2018 in the downtown area. Friendly atmosphere and typical industrial feel. They have a broad offering of their craft beers and craft sodas. I went with the flight and tried for their beers: the Cream Ale, Rye Saison, IPL, and dark DIPA. I wasn't a fan of the cream ale as it had a smoky flavor. Both the rye and dark DIPA were unique and complex. My favorite was the IPL, hoppy, yet very smooth. read more

Our first visit to XEO and we were very impressed! The employees were are welcoming and extremely helpful. The have a great selection and the sodas are a nice addition. Definitely try a shandy! They have a large open space for gathering that was clean as well as a nice outdoor area. read more

This Brewer has a great vibe for hanging out. When you enter you're greeted by a large bar with their pull handles and beer listings above. Everything is well organized and clean. Which is nice when coming from out of town and not sure what to expect. There is an ample outdoor seating area as well. Service is quite prompt and friendly. The staff know their beers beers and can guide you if needed but I recommend not.limiting yourself and getting a flight when you arrive. Speaking of flights at this time they have a Weizenbock, (Rye whiskey barrel aged) that is very good as well as the Cthulhu (Black Dipa) which are spectacular. I would highly recommend trying them. Lastly, they have food trucks but I came at an off hour but at any time you can order food and have it delivered. So definitely a cool place to visit. read more

Super friendly, really nice people. Also, we brought our dog and he was welcome in.... All that stuff was good, chit-chat, clean tight environment, small talk, locale.... all good. Beers, were medium quality at best. But as a disclaimer I am comparing to Mass, Maine, VT beers (N.E. Style)... and compared to that, yes they are medium level quality. It all has to do with the water. If your groundwater is not top quality, your beer is not going to taste good. Nice little spot! I believe they had about 8 beers on top. My girlfriend and I both opted for their signature IPA and both really enjoyed it. Lots of potential in the space but seemed somewhat sterile. Staff were all very friendly. What a treasure to have in such a small town. read more

Good solid beers including multiple styles of beers. So often, a brewery specializes in a single style. Not cross-eyed owl brewing. Solid IPAs, stouts and lagers. Probably even more but this was what I drank. read more

The Cross-eyed Owl is a great brewery! They haven't been open long but you can tell they know what they're doing. We got there just after they opened for the day on our way to Florida, so we didn't stay long just shared a flight between us. read more

Beautiful location which smelled heavenly when we walked in as they had been brewing that day! Great service, beer was good with lots of styles to choose from. Not only can you get fresh beer but also hand-crafted sodas. We didn't try the soda as I don't do sugary drinks but they sounded interesting! We adore this bar. Amazing story- wonderful service- excellent beer- great environment- rotating food trucks- a patio you can't beat- I could go on and on. This place was great. Good choices, clean space, and a nice spot for hanging out. We stopped by for a beer while in town on May 10, and had a good time. I had the gose, and would recommend it. The bartender was friendly and patient while we made our choices. They had live music setting up, but we left before that got started. So sometimes you are at a micro brew tasting a few options just hoping you'll find something no SO weird and out there... I was shocked, I enjoyed every beer I had. They were just really good and didn't push the flavor boundaries to the extreme at every opportunity. I leave some breweries wanting to gargle!! I'll be back for sure. read more

We stopped by when passing through AL to give the local beers a try. The atmosphere was ideal, the work staff were really friendly and inviting, they had live music, and an overall enjoyable environment. The beers were pretty good, we got a flight and the only complaint really is that they were too bland/'watered-down' for our taste but still a good try. They had a fire wood pizza food truck that smelled delightful, wish we had tried it out as well. read more

Great beers! Super cool swag and a very open and comfortable area to sit and enjoy a cold brew. I loved their Cotaco IPA and the IPL. They make sodas too! This place needs to be on your list if you're touring downtown Decatur. read more
