The innkeeper's mother was lovely and popped over shortly after I arrived to show me around and ask what time I'd like breakfast. I slept great, and the room had a lovely bathtub to wind down after a long drive. In the morning, I had to leave earlier than expected. As I was leaving, I popped into the dining area to let the innkeeper, Anna, know, and she was insistent that she could whip me up some breakfast quickly. She was beyond kind, and the breakfast was fabulous. Some of the best waffles I've ever had! Anna, thank you again for breakfast and the stay. Only reason this is four stars instead of five is how difficult it is to get in touch with them to get a reservation - their email doesn't work, leaving a message on their phone doesn't always get you a response, and they're always busy enough that you can never just drop in. My boyfriend and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon and were able to find street parking easily. The decor of the shop is cute, and ordering at the kiosk was simple; they have a pretty extensive menu so, whatever type of drink you're looking for, they probably have it! We got the coconut matcha and a mango matcha milk, both of which came out pretty quickly. I was unfortunately a little disappointed with the color of the matcha when our drinks came out; it was a very pale green, and didn't taste like they used high quality matcha powder to make our drinks. My boyfriend was also disappointed by the coconut matcha, which didn't taste as good as he expected. I thought my mango matcha, on the other hand, was delicious! The mango flavor was strong and sweet, but not overly so, and I enjoyed my drink! Overall, we'd definitely come back, but probably try different drinks since it seems like this shop doesn't specialize in matcha.

It was an orange blend that lasted a long time. Their teas are only sold online and at differenr stores but on Tuesdays, they open up their warehouse/office for "Tea Tuesdays". This is NOT a tea shop but it is their office and warehouse. TEAS -- The teas are all NON-GMO and ORGANIC. The teas are loose leaf instead of in a tea bag which is better for the environment but they do sell a tea bags (sachets). They have about 50 different flavours of teas to choose from so you will definitely find a tea that is perfect for you. They have black teas, white teas, green teas, and herbal teas. Some of their teas have more caffeine than others. You can buy a box of loose leaf tea for $11 or save $5 and get 3 boxes for $28. I ended up buying 1 box of tea, the Blueberry Hibiscus white tea which has a very light flavour. I can't wait to try the sample teas that I got (see attached photos). TEA TUESDAYS -- You can come here on Tuesdays between 10am - 5pm to sample their teas and buy teas. This isn't a tea shop so please note that the sitting area is a very small space. You will enter the building where they package their teas and essentially manage their business. The little office space has one red couch and 2 chairs. When I visited on 7 May 2019, I sampled (drank) 2 different teas before choosing which one to buy. Paula and her sister even gave me 4 samples of loose leaf tea to take home and my friend Chelsea got some samples too. SERVICE -- Paula (owner) + her sister Jill are amazing. Paula is the owner and Jill helps out one day a week. I had the pleasure of talking to them both when I visited. Overall, I recommend buying Storehouse tea or visiting their business office on Tuesdays. They are involved with their community by hiring 2 Refugee students to help them package their teas. **** - 77 total reviews in 2019 - 286 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 12 May 2019

So I visited Tiger Lily Cafe again, on 11 March 2022, the day after writing the below review. Much to my surprise, alot has changed since the cafe opened in September 2021. I visited a 3rd time on a Friday evening in October 2022 for a free comedy show in the Electric Gardens apartment lobby, which is also the lobby for Limelight Co-Working space, but the cafe had closed by the time I arrived. The cafe surroundings/decor is still hip with all the original furniture still present. There is still a warm and inviting atmosphere as well. The lobby of the apartment complex cafe is still aesthetically pleasing to the eye and nice. It is still the same VERY small cafe with not much seating but there are sofas a few steps inside at the co-working apace lobby. OWNERSHIP CHANGE -- Here is the issue. The cafe is no longer owned by Go Buddah. It is now owned by some corporate company or some person (I don't know). Go Buddah was a vegan restaurant in Rocky River (Cleveland, Ohio) owned by Joshua Ingraham; however, Go Buddah sadly closed in 2020 or 2021. Joshua was the former Executive Chef of the Cleveland Indians baseball team, now named Cleveland Guardians. Tiger Lily Cafe was sadly impacted by COVID-19 because they do not have many of their original cafe offerings. Infact, I glanced through some of Go Buddah's google reviews because Go Buddah used to own Tiger Lily and I found a response to a review where the customer did not have a great experience because the staff at Go Buddah wasn't too friendly. The owner commented in 2021: "Our staff simply deserves better than this. The short answer is that after we lost everything during the pandemic we vowed to create a concept and company that would pay a living wage. I'm truly sorry for your experience, but for how hard our staff works this is frankly a slap in the face, especially after all that we have gone through." Based on that above comment, you can definitely tell that Go Buddah was hurting and thus; it is no surprise that they pulled out of this Tiger Lily coffee shop business venture which is unfortunate. CBD DRINKS -- The popular NON-ALCOHOLIC CBD drinks are no longer on the drinks menu, for now at least but I don't think they are ever coming back. The person working there when I arrived on that Friday evening in March 2022 didn't know when the CBD drinks will be back in stock. She didn't seem interested or have any information on if the drinks will ever be back. She said that the cafe did not have any of the ingredients anymore to make the drinks. The awesome Calypso Cocktail which is the only CBD drink that I've tried is no more. The spark and original interest of Tiger Lily Cafe were the CBD drinks. With those CBD drinks no longer for sale, I am not too excited to visit anymore. If I simply want tea (I don't drink coffee), I'll go somewhere closer to where I live such as Lekko Coffee shop. However, if I'm in the Tremont neighbourhood area, I will definitely come here only because I enjoy sitting in the Electric Gardens apartment complex lobby. It's truly a gem and an awesome casual first date spot.

I had the loveliest afternoon tea with my mom at Miss Hickory's. AMBIANCE: You'll step back into the 1900's with time-specific decor and waitresses' attire. Miss Hickory's occupies a mid-1800s farmhouse that was owned by the first blacksmith in Strongsville, William Weller. The current owners preserved the historic charm, transformed the farm house into multi-room tea house. There are two main dining areas on the first floor, and multiple gorgeous themed tea rooms upstairs (like the Gathering Room and Storybook Tea Room). The interior contains a lot of refurbished and vintage furniture, charming housewares, and decor. Think pastels, florals, and lace. The space comfortably accommodates big groups and pairs. Small parking lot is available onsite, consider car pulling if attending with a large group. RESERVATIONS: I personally despise the commitment of reservations, but the process here is very easy. I emailed the tea house, received same day email response, and was not charged to hold the reservation. The tea room space started filling very quickly at open, so it's best to reserve your space. FOOD/TEA: Multi-page menu will accommodate all types of tastes. Find another seasonal menu at your table with all the flavors of the season. The menu contains signature plates, sandwiches, soups, sides, sweets, desserts, and beverages. You can have anything from a full tea feast to no tea at all equally enjoying your time. If you're a tea connoisseur, read all tea descriptions at the end of the menu. We ordered Miss Hickory's High Tea Sampler ($23 per person) that contains a shareable 3-tier serving tray with finger sandwiches, wonton cups, strawberries, scones, sweets, and crème. While I have seen larger portions at other tea houses, the food amount was very filling. Everything was extremely fresh, much fresher than experienced at other tea houses. I most enjoyed the walnut scones, they were so delicious! The standalone menu items seemed expensive and were served in very small quantities based on our observation of other guests. I don't think that ordering standalone items offers value. My mom thought that the experience was pricey, while I think it's about at market price. Since the tea is not included in the sampler, we ordered and shared two tea pots - Loose Leaf Arctic Berry and Black Currant ($4 per teapot with refills but no sharing). They were served with a tea warmer which was incredible, I love me some hot tea! The flavors started out very mild then evolved during our experience due to longer steeping. We agreed that Arctic Berry was our favorite tea. If you're not into loose leaf teas, you'll discover a very long Twinings selection. EXPERIENCE FOR KIDS: Many guests arrived with kids who were very enthusiastic about tea parties. They wore adorable matching outfits. Kids received their own tea experience - tiny tea cups and teapot. It was really cute! The room upstairs (Storybook Tea Room) seems to well accommodate anyone with children, has fairytales book, and play tea set. I can envision an adorable children's tea party in this space. SERVICE: The service is extremely attentive. Five stars! Our waitress was so kind, efficient, and just generally pleasant. She presented us with a demo of additional desserts for purchase at the end of the dining experience. One of them was Bridgerton-inspired Mille-feuille! We didn't have any more room for desserts, but they looked really elaborate! The owner inquired how our experience was at the end of our afternoon tea as well which felt especially welcoming. SHOP: The tea house has a small shopping area by the entrance. The cutest things are tea cup cards with tea bags! We loved our calm and delicious afternoon tea. We plan to return during nature's more scenic seasons like winter or the vibrant time of fall. I think that the views by the tea house will be unmatched. I have to say that it's one of my best tea house experiences.

Many other tea rooms do not use these decorative tea pots anymore when serving tea which is disappointing. The restaurant was beautiful decorated. Our entrees were delicious but small. The desserts were also tasty. If you're looking for a charming tea room this is the place to dine! The prices are pricy. The very tiny small wedge salad pictured was $16. $16 for a quarter of a head of .99 cent lettuce with a dab of blue cheese dressing, bacon bits. Shameful. Tiny Dessert $8 My opinion You're paying for the ambience.

I was envisioning a chill, slower-paced, comfy, lowkey bar or lounge to have conversations and interesting drinks after dinner with coworkers and friends. Nothing nearby fit the bill except this (genius idea!) place and it was absolutely perfect for the vibe and ambiance of what I was looking for! It was a relaxing, well lit, spacious but still intimate, tidy but still unique area to hang in. I ordered a make it yourself blend of a calming kratom, pineapple juice and raspberry flavor. It was fantastic and the S size in a mason jar was perfect. It tasted a bit like green tea mixed with botanicals and juice. My friend got the blue lotus drink with pineapple juice but it was kind of bland, earthy with only a tiny hint of sweetness. My other friend got a coffee...with lavender syrup because she's bonkers and also was too chicken to try kratom. I added a little sweetener that they had available (I think raw sugar) and took my tea to go. I got to sample a little Kava and Kratom upon walking in because I had never tried them before. The employee explained what they were to me because I had never heard of them. They are supposed to help with anxiety, stress, and mood. Kava is a root and Kratom comes from the leaves of a specific tree so both are essentially plants. After sampling them, both tasted very bitter to me so I didn't like it which is fine (haha). The Kava had a dirt or grainy texture and the kratom had a lighter but more bitter flavour. The employee did mention to me that both would taste bitter and earthy. I did not order any drinks with them upon sampling them but they sell an assortment of drinks that include Kava and Kratom. Customer service was friendly. If you like Kava and Kratom or want to try it then come visit this Sacred Waters Kava bar in Lakewood. It's not my preference. The male employee working told me that they used to be affiliated with the other Kava bar in Cleveland (North Olmsted location, I think) but they are no longer affiliated with that location as the business partners stopped working together. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 69/150 total reviews in 2024 - 719 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 18 July 2024

We ended up doing some serious window shopping and also got a very filling lunch here of tea, sandwiches, fruit, and kettle chips for about $55 after tax and tip. I could gush about how precious the whole place was, but if you have ever had afternoon tea in an old, historic home, then you get the idea. The menu has so many yummy options but we decided on getting tea and our own sandwich meal. I love sour cherry jam so I got the HammyJammy sandwich ($18) and my bf got a caprese sandwich with added chicken ($16 plus $4 for chicken) and we each got peach iced tea ($3). After about 15 minutes, our lovely server came back with the LARGEST PORTIONS EVER! Fortunately, we loved our food so having large portions of it made us both very happy campers. My ciabatta was fresh and crusty, the ham slices were thiccc, the bacon was fatty and salty, and the jam was generously applied. We also both recieved a good amount of fresh fruit and abive average kettle chips. Guys, the ham sandwich I got was so unbelievably good that I ate half there and then ate half very slowly at my home, enjoying every bite of the thiccccc ham, salty bacon, and generous swipe of sour cherry jam on the oversized ciabatta roll. My meal filled me up, of course, but I wish I would have ordered a half dozen more to eat for lunch every day this week. #soooobsessed. I can't think of anything negative to say. I really can't!
