Jason did a fantastic job on the restoration of my 1930s Wyandotte toy sedan. It was basically a rusted shell when I sent it to him. It now looks like it just came out of a vintage box. Could not be happier. He kept in close contact with me by text and phone if there were going to be delays (paint, finding/fabricating parts, etc). WARNING!!! do not use Old Foundry Toy Works! they charged my credit card, and never shipped the item. They stated in an email that they would refund my money and then never did. DO NOT SHOP HERE. They do not answer phone or reply to emails. True fraud. I have called and called and left messages and sent emails all to no avail. Please look at all the complaints against this company on the Better Business Bureau (bbb) website! Many people have filed complaints against the company. With Jason, you have to be patient. He is always backlogged and works meticulously, so there's going to be a wait, sometimes upward of 3 years. But in my case it was worth it. Old Foundry repaired a 1955 Mattel jack-in-the-box that other toy repair shops wouldn't touch. He had to make a major overhaul, and yet the toy looks as if it is near-new -- rubber play belt, crank, jack's striped outfit, the felt on top of the head, everything restored. I enjoyed talking with the owner of Old Foundry Toy Works very much, he was very friendly and explained the process of how the restoration of my antique walking bear toy would go before I sent it to them. The price was very fair, it was actually about $100 less than I was expecting, so I felt that I got a very good deal for the work done. I received my old toy back about three months later, and it worked flawlessly! It was also cleaned up slightly, but as I asked them, I did not want any patina cleaned off the toy whatsoever, and they did exactly what I asked. The only reason why I couldn't bring myself to give them 5 stars was the waiting time of about three months, I realize that they have other customers, but maybe they can hire more help to get the wait time down to a month? I would have been ok with about a month wait. Other than that, I feel that this is a very unique business and will send them more work if I ever have to have toy repairs accomplished. Second the warning. Shipped something to be fix in November 2011 and was told it would be done in December. Then told Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr ... ect. Told it was completed in May, sent payment and even a prepaid fedex label. Nothing. To this day my item that I sent, paid for still has not been shipped. Definitely a scam. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JASON PERIOD. In response to his comments below, I was told this item was finished and ready to ship and only needed payment. It was paid for, but still not shipped. I can understand these items may require long periods to be repair and have been very patient. But if i was told my item is fixed, ready to ship, paid for it but haven't gotten it for5- 6 weeks to me that isn't acceptable. July 25, 2012 I sent a check to Jason owner of (Old Foundry Toy Works) and yes he explained his terms 3 to 4 months. He cashed my check for $320.00 last November and was to repair a 1950 toy Sit-in-Ride. I have communicated with him for months with lots of promise dates. I was told to report him to the "Office of the Indiana Attorney General" Consumer Mediator ATTN:Fran Marburgh. She has my case on file and recommends taking Jason to court. Please contact her with your complaints. Jason is a good communicator but overwhelmed with business, so makes up dates to deliver product so a very poor business owner. I do not recommend anyone doing business with him as he has committed fraud with too many folks. One day he will answer for his failure as a business person. He kept an open line of communication, my fiancé got it back on the date he was promised, and Jason charged a very fair price for the amount of work that had to be done on the truck! I've always found Jason to be co-operative, helpful, and generous with his time. If he has a fault, it's that he can be a little forgetful sometimes, but if you remind him he'll go out of his way to put things right and to look after you. He's always willing to help with what you need. read more

Well, it's taken 3 years and a negative review I recently posted on Yelp but Jason did repair and return by previously mentioned 65 year old musical cake plate. This time it was well packaged and it arrived in one piece. The music plays slowly and softly but well enough for my grandkids to get the idea. I ordered a hot air balloon model for my newborn son's bedroom. I never received that balloon and never received a refund for my money when I was told that they didn't have it in stock. Jason claims he sent me my money but I assure you that I never received any refund at all. I reported this company to the Better Business Bureau who the last time I checked, gives this company an F rating. Thank you for essentially taking money from a baby because that's what you did. I paid my bill in advance to expedite the service, they have responded with promises but I have not heard from them in several months. I do believe they are deceptive in how they conduct business and would not recommend using them, at this point I have lost close to 400.00 in property and money paid to them.
