Beautiful golf course. Beautiful scenic views and ample parking. Building has high ceilings and doors and very spacious. Nice size bar area as well. We came here for my husband's company banquet and had a private room and dining experience. Room was decorated banquet style setting . Very intimate. Caesar salad, panko crusted chicken, steamed carrots and mashed potatoes for me and my husband got bacon topped steak , carrots and mashed potatoes as well. Dessert was very rich cheesecake or chocolate cake . Just ok ! Restroom was very clean . Servers were nice and speedy. Beautiful evening. read more

I was here with a large group (20 - 24) and they did a very good job at getting the food out to everyone in a reasonable time. The food was tasty and the serving size seemed appropriate for the pricing. They didn't have a cocktail menu, but said the bar could make whatever was wanted. I took my mom to OHGC for Mother's Day brunch. We had a reservation so we got in right away. Even though it is a Buffet there was also a server to take drink orders. Our table ordered bloody Mary's with top she'd vodka, we found the drink prices to be reasonable. The variety of food was incredible. However, the quality of food was okay. The sweets and pastries table looked like all store bought previously frozen items. The scrambled eggs were horrible, definitely a power mix. No one at our table finished the eggs. The food items were labeled but needed more info. Vegetarian, vegan, contains nuts, etc. also, not sure the price of the entire thing was fully worth it. Glad we tried it but probably will not be back. read more

We were there for The buffet on Fathers Day. After being seated we waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drink orders. The buffet was mediocre at best. At $42 a person definitely never going back. How can they charge that price for food that was definitely not worth it. read more

We were members at Old Hickory for several years before relocating out of state. Best country club we have ever joined. Challenging course, beautiful setting, owners that continue to improve the venue, friendly staff, top-notch restaurant, swimming pool, best in-state golf instruction, and wonderful meeting and banquet facilities. Located in the Hickory club house. Really nice views, yes it is a private course on beautiful land, tucked behind trees and a treat to see. We go as often, especially Sunday brunch. We are not members, it is oddly public... and the wait staff treats you like a member anyway Dining has cloth table cloths and napkins, not like a bar or fast food. Drinks are unworldly, like nothing I have had before. Im 77, picky and really love the place. On holiday its still open for taking grandkids to see Santa, Easter bunny or mothers day and then the real buffet comes on. Shrimp, like roast beef, turkey, pastas so much its sinful and good to boot. Price is higher but you get treated like a special customer. I like the cooks are out in the crowd making sure everyone is happy. Oh, and you can order off a regular menu if special food is required. Humbling course. Keep it in the fairway. And hang on to the greens putting. 19th hole is great and all the clientele are gracious.

Maddie was our server and she couldn't have been more welcoming and nicer. We felt like the experience was made better because of her. I don't normally fish over a server but she took such care of our kids. My son was celebrating his 8th birthday and she made it special. Off the busy Midrivers Drive, there is one very place...Old Hickory Golf Club. Open to non members. Causal dining and wonderful food. The golf course might drive you a bit crazy, a good challenge for the better golfer. If you've never been to Old Hickory, you're missing out! I had never heard of this golf course until my cousin got married and had her reception there a couple of years ago. The wedding was perfection! It seemed as though everything went off without a hitch! Being a guest, I enjoyed the food, music, and view of the golf course. Skipping ahead a few years...my employer decided to purchase a membership to the golf course (he tells me and his wife it was because we needed a nice, reliable place to host our district meetings and holiday parties....but let's be honest! It was so he could play golf!) As the coordinator of the said events, the membership has been a blessing! The events coordinator, Jen Champion, is awesome! My employer can change his mind about things at the drop of a hat and Jen has always been flexible with us (thank goodness!) The staff are always friendly and so helpful! We usually utilize the Magnolia Room, which is just the right size to host our district meetings without it feeling too cramped or too large. The beverage setups always allow everyone an option of tea, coffee, and water, which is nice. We've also had our holiday party there as well, which was very impressive. The staff waited on everyone in a professional manner and were friendly to our guests.....which always makes us look good as well. :) Now let's talk food.....I've never had one bad thing here. Ever. I always get their Cobb salad for lunch, which is enough to feed two. I've had dinner there as well and everything has always been amazing! You don't even need to be a member to eat at the cafe, which is what I like the most! I've never played the course, but my husband has. If you're looking for a challenge, this is definitely the course to play! Old Hickory also offers a ton of friendly events as well, which is nice when the parents want to have some time with friends. All in all, this is a very good place to belong to and I highly recommend it! read more

I would recommend caution when booking events such as weddings. They ask for astronomical deposits ($2,000 or more) for events over a year away and they claim they are non-refundable. Certainly not the norm in my opinion. Personally I will never use their services for any event. read more

Went there for Sunday brunch to celebrate my birthday. Food was very disappointing. We have enjoyed this Sunday brunch quite a few times in the past but this time it was shocking how below average the food was particularly the scrambled eggs - over cooked, processed eggs. The food was great. The service was lousy. Also they have a term called jingle change. If you pay cash and your bill is for example $12.24 including tax and tip they round it up and do not bring you change. When I asked where the 94 yr old lady's change was, the waitress said that was jingle change and they don't give that back. After having a special talk with the waitress she brought her back a dollar bill. Unless you have enough money to give away an extra 75 cents I guess that would not be a problem. read more

For a fine dining experience DO NOT try the Bistro. The food is average at best and the service was horrible. When you order a bottle of wine make sure they deliver to you what you ordered. Let's see...where to start. I went there with my boyfriend as part of Saint Charles Restaurant week. We each got an appetizer, entree, and desert for $25. Not a bad deal. At least we thought so.... They weren't that busy, but it took almost 30 minutes to finally get our bottle of wine we ordered when we first sat down. Our waitress was very friendly and apologized for the long wait. We ordered the flat bread and stuffed mushrooms for appetizer's. They were okay, nothing special. I had the rosemary pork chop with gnocchi and my boyfriend had smoked chicken with potatoes for our entree. My pork was good, but the gnocchi looked more like a cross between chicken nuggets and scallops. I've never had gnocchi that big. It was unevenly cooked...almost burnt on one side and under cooked on the other. My boyfriend's chicken was dry. And I don't mean a little dry...I mean Sahara dessert dry! For desert we had the homemade cheesecake and the creme brule. The cheesecake was very lumpy but tasted okay. The creme brule was supposed to have a nice crisp on top and did not. It also had way to much lemon in it. Overall, our meal was very disappointing. Our wine was tasty, but we were served in very cheap glassware rather than nicer crystal. Definitely not what I'd expected for a restaurant with the prices they had for their meals and the food listed on their menu. It also seemed like the waitresses were having to double as hostess when diners came in. It seemed very disorganized with different waitresses having to greet and seat each table. If I'm going to throw down $110 on a meal....I would certainly expect much better quality of food! read more

I would give it no stars if I could. I tried for a week and half to get reservations for Mother's Day brunch 2017, this including several phone calls where I spoke to 4 different people, each one taking my name and number and assuring me they would have someone call me back and confirm reservations, as well a voicemail on the answering machine, as well as an email. I have yet to hear back from them. We simply wanted to take our mothers out for a nice brunch on Mother's Day and had hoped this would be a good option. But after a week and half of trying I gave up. I shouldn't have to beg for a reservation, clearly they do not need the business. So we will going else where for Mother's Day. read more

I got married here and must say it was perfect. Jen C. was amazing and went above and beyond for my husband and I. My ceremony was outside under the trees which was beautiful. The club house is very nice, the staff is amazing and the food was very good. I was given everything I was promised and more. I highly recommend weddings here. Buyer beware! I booked a catered affair and the portions of food were outrageous. The toasted ravioli appetizers are priced two per person (2pp on invoice) and the dollar roll sandwiches(1 1/2pp) are very thin slice turkey on 90% piece of French bread. Read invoice (they call a signed contract that is emailed to you and I never signed) very carefully white linens did not include chair coverings that was not made clear at the booking that it was extra. read more

The only reason it got one start is because I had to choose one to post. DO NOT have a reception here. Some genius decided it would be a good idea to put the band from the room next door right on the dividing wall, the bleed over was terrible, the manager did NOTHING about it, the groom from the other room came over to wish us well, immediately noticed it and said he was so sorry and went over to tell them to turn it down, it was too late, most of our guests already left. The next day the planner apologized and said our email outlining what happen was forwarded to her manager. 2 months later and we still haven't gotten an apology out of him. We spent over $25,000 on that evening to have it shot to crap the last 2.5 hours. We've contacted a lawyer who said we could sue to get the entertainment cost back because that's what we realistically lost. Parking was terrible to, because they were having 2 weddings that evening some of our guests had to park off the golf course side and walk, no one in golf carts shuttling people from their cars to the building, for either wedding and it was over 100 degrees with the humidity. read more
