Family- have you been to the Rack House for brunch?? If you haven't, make it a priority. The vibe is so relaxed and welcoming, our waitress, Alana. was caring, upbeat and recommended the BEST food and took great care of us. Let me start by we came in to late to get the crab pretzel appetizer which was sad, but we sooo are coming back for that and some bourbon- great selection on the wall, but that's another post later .. back to brunch. We ordered the special for breakfast, steak and eggs. My husband got the Crabby Benny. Not sure who is in that kitchen but give them some slow claps for the perfectly cooked 8oz filet and perfectly seasoned crab cakes! not sure how they make perfectly cooked, crispy and seasoned potato's ! The only reason I didn't do a full 5 stars was due to the eggs on the top of the benny, they started poached, but by the time we got them to the table they were hard boiled.. but the crab cakes delicious flavor made up for it! We also got the rack house bloody Mary's with the pepper infused vodka- great kick!! Totally recommend- forgot a photo! This is a nice place with a lot of brunch options and a reasonable price for bottomless bloody Mary's and mimosas-- they also let us switch from one to the other. I enjoyed the Monte Cristo, which was fabulous, though a little heavy. The Brussel Sprout scramble was a big hit our table as well. We came here for my husband's birthday and I really appreciated that they offer call-ahead seating. They were able to easily accommodate a party of ten the same day, which was a big plus. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the fact that we kept finding hair in our food. I wasn't able to finish my meal, and my kids were so grossed out they wouldn't finish theirs either. We did let the gentleman who was bringing out our plates know, but it was disappointing because this is one of my husband's favorite places. I understand things happen, but this wasn't just one entrée it happened more than once, which really took away from what should've been a special night. read more

Disappointing experience overall. The crab cakes had the consistency of mashed potatoes and hard shells or bones in them. The flank steak was a bad cut of meat they tried to mask with sauce. The cheese board had only one piece of sourdough to share between two people, and no crackers or anything to put the meat and cheese on. This place on the smaller side so I would recommend reservations if you came on the weekend. For food and drinks: The drinks were fabulous. I loved the espresso martini. Nobody had any complaints on their cocktails. You can get an option of smoke added to your drinks which is a cool added fun experience. I got the Korean bbq duck which was some of the best duck I've ever had. The scallops were also very delicious. This place offers beef wellingtons on the second Wednesday of every month. If you want to make sure you don't miss out you call ahead so they can reserve one for you. I tried my friends and it was beautifully cooked. Since it was our friend's birthday they gave us a dessert on the house and it was spectacular as well! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because service was a little rough at first. It took the server awhile to get to the table. We had asked for waters while ordering our first drink and didn't get them till our dinner came. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and answered any questions you may have. But it took while to get anything ordered at first. We had to order our appetizers while we ordered our dinner because at that point we had been there an hour and everyone was hungry. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this place. Service can be hit or miss depending on the day or time you are there. Most things feel slightly overpriced. We celebrated my grandmother's 91st birthday and booked the private room and everything was AMAZING! We could not have asked for more, everything was perfect! You did not have to do much since the room was beautiful but we decorated and add centerpieces to the tables. They had chicken salad sandwiches, killer meatballs, and so much more! Now, for the drinks. They had a violet beau regarde cocktail that was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I love a good violet cocktail, but this one was different. The syrup they used or liquor complemented all the flavors so perfectly. Just stopped in for brunch one Saturday and it was nice. They have bottomless mimosas so my friend and I liked that. The waitress was super friendly. I got the crab Benedict. I was a little hesitant about if the crab cake would be good on the eggs Benedict but it was very good, I recommend trying it! My friend got the regular eggs Benedict and the waitress and kitchen staff were accommodating to her changes in it so that was nice. Went here with some friends for brunch. It was a pretty neat place, probably mainly a cigar and bourbon place. It smelled like cigar smoke closer to the cigar room. The service wasn't great in as far as I only got one refill on my water, but then nothing after that. That's kind of the basics for me. The food came out fine. The French fries were pretty tasty. Very crispy and flavorful. The crispy chicken sandwich was very good as well. I definitely recommend that if you like chicken sandwiches. It was a long drive for us, so I'm not sure the juice was worth the squeeze for me. My friends assured me the waffle Benedict is the star, so maybe next time I'll get that. read more
