Long time ago, I came up here to North Texas from Dallas, where I was in College, to attend Grayson county College's Viticulture & Enology program in Dennison. It's one of the few degreed grape growing & wine making programs in the country. And while I was in the Viticulture & Enology program I started exploring the surrounding areas & found the extremely beautiful, stunningly gorgeous rolling hills of North Texas wine country, Saint Jo, Muenster, Lake Murray, Arbuckle Mountains etc., I fell head over heels in love. Long story short, I found a little old farmhouse in the area on some land & decided that was where I was going to start my vineyard & Antique B&B, in North Texas wine country someday. Little did I know that would take 20 years LOL Well, as a Chef, it turned out, grape growing was not my talent, herbs & medicinal homeopathic medicine was. Yep, Cooking, gardening & making medicinal medicines & natural beauty products. My hubby's nickname for me is "Dr. Chef" Haha. I know, so corny. Anyway, so ambitiously without a care in the world, shouldn't take long I thought, I set out with my hair on fire to Chef, garden herbs, gut the farmhouse & rebuild it from scratch while I traveled the country working & collecting antiques along the way to build this dream of mine Antique B&B. 3 cottages was the plan. LOL 20 years later, that little dream of mine has now become a reality, mostly with the help of "Old Home Supply House." We bought a lot of cool stuff for the antique bathrooms from OHSH. I mean I looked all over the country and mostly found what I wanted right here in Ft. Worth for the antique bathrooms. For the guest bath, I wanted a old Brass antique free standing shower kit, that hangs from the ceiling, with small cast iron clawfoot tub all of which I got here. For the master suite, I wanted a antique brass & stainless steel faucet with two colored Gucci style shower phone handle, with a LARGE soaking cast iron antique claw foot tub, all of which I got here. Now, I didn't get them all at the same time. I collected it all over the years. It took a while to collect it all but it was worth it. You just Have to keep looking, searching & collecting. I made many trips to OHSH. Haha. Anyhoo, later, I found a tub guy in Dallas who refurbished the tubs. And he did a beautiful job. Then, Hubby installed them. It's been a interesting experience, Hubby & I wouldn't change a thing! We have enjoyed every second of living in Wine Country, Texoma area & rebuilding our old farmhouse. We are so very proud of it. We are completely "tickled pink." We just want to thank you guys so much for all your help in making our dreams a reality. We couldn't have done it without you. I didn't forget I told you guys last time I was there I would post some pics when we got the bathrooms done. Well, we did it! We finally finished them! LOL Thank you again Old Home Supply House! This place is literal gold. I saw a man review this store and it said "it's what you expect, over priced and nothing you need or can use here." What a dumb thing to say Ricky T! We are currently restoring a home built in 1895 and this store is like a buried treasure chest. There are SO many lighting options, old doors (for days!) fixtures, pieces, odds and ends... EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your old home. And the prices?! Literally beyond fair and reasonable. Finding 100 year old chandeliers for $1500??? That's an INCREDIBLE price as they can go for $15k. I recommend this store to antique lovers and old house owners. Don't be fooled by snarky reviews from those who have no business or respect being among such old beauty! read more

This shop, or should I say set of shops, sits on an intersection and takes off up all four corners of this intersection in a long established neighborhood. The buildings are vintage themselves, however, everything in the shops isn't. There is a lot of building salvage on site, however it's mixed with a good bit of newer handmade items made to look old as well as a handful of old items handcrafted and repurposed to perform other tasks. There was a lot of repurposed items made into lighting fixtures. They have a lot of doors! I'll say that. A good handful of windows and frames. Found absolutely NO stained glass. There was a lot of hardware, not very many drawer pulls that would be classified as old or vintage, yet they had a lot still in bags that haven't been used, but were made to look old. There was a lot of lighting, some old, some vintage, some repurposed handmade, some newer, ALL were extremely overpriced. The smallest hanging light, which is what we went for, was just over $100, yet they sale the same exact light at Lowes for almost half that price. Regarding prices, as a renovator, I've been to many architectural salvage lots from Oklahoma to Texas and this one, altho it covers large area, it doesn't have quite the selection of old repurposeful items that the others have, what they do have is priced way higher than the other areas in town. A lot of the items here are priced beyond normal retail. This is the bulk of our dissatisfaction with this place, that combined with the lack of true salvaged parts from buildings being disassembled. Seems like they grabbed what they could easily take out and left some of the more desirable items that other salvage shops have. Only had one set of columns, the trim selection was very small, old drawer pulls were limited to the old white handle pulls, the was no stained glass windows, old metal ceiling tiles were extremely limited and what we did find were out in nature rusting away, found a LOT of doors with very little framing, no stairways, didn't find any spindles, only a handful of old vintage appliances.... I could go on. We were just not happy with what they had especially for the prices they were asking. It was a neat place to visit, we won't be returning tho. There is a better place in Waxahachie that has some really hard stuff to find and isn't overpriced. read more

I decided to write a review on this place for several reasons. I've been shopping at this place since 1999. Back in the day, it was the place to go to for quality salvage architectural pieces. One could find great doors, lighting, old bath fixtures. Now, it's a dumpster for scraped building materials, yard art from Mexico, and imported Indian pieces. One may grab a vintage cabinet knob, but would do better shopping online or making a trip to Dallas to find quality pieces for home restoration. I can tell you what you will find. If you are not a person with far leftist progressive ideology, you will be met with propaganda yard signs that essentially convey, "we don't want you here unless you agree with our politics." I've never understood why one puts out their cult signs when they live within the cult community, like they would change someone's mind. Thank goodness we live in a country where even a business can express their political beliefs and shoppers can decide to support or not. read more

Best place in Texas for old house salvage! Old Home Supply has been the go-to for us during several renovation/restorations of houses in Fort Worth. We love them and feel we couldn't possibly do what we have done without them. Look here first for antique hardware, clawfoot tubs, sinks, old doors (interior and exterior), antique lighting, garden decor, and that special one-of-a-kind find for your home. No "hello", or "how are you today?" I suppose It's their business, and they can run it the way they want. Spread across 4 buildings flanking each corner of the intersection there is plenty to look through. From doors to cabinet handles they have pretty much anything you need for restoring a house or finding a unique item for your home. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to find period pieces for my old home. read more

A really fun place to look around. They have just about everything, from antiques to vintage house fixtures and architectural items to quirky pieces you'd never find anywhere else. Most of their inventory is vintage/antique but there are some carefully selected new items mixed in that fit well among the vintage aesthetic. This is not just some little "antique shop", but truly a place where one can go to look for home restoration/renovation supply. Their inventory is spread out among 4 or 5 buildings and yards at an intersection in a residential area of Fairmount, a historic district containing several buildings listed on the NRHP. I definitely recommend a visit to see this beautiful historic area of FW and browse Old Home Supply, as their inventory is vast and they have some of the most unique and beautiful pieces I've seen, like ornate hand carved wood archways and doors or quirky handmade furniture. As far as pricing goes (the reason for my low rating), it varies greatly. I had wanted to buy an old 3 pane window that was no bigger than about 36" x 24" and the price was $30. It was cracked and weathered and I was wanting it for an art project but passed when I heard the price. In addition, I had spotted an outdoor pendant sconce that was new/not vintage and recognized it as the very sconce I had on my house, which had been fully remodeled before I bought it. Out of curiosity I looked at the price, which was $350. I was quite shocked because not only was that expensive to me, even for a new sconce, it was also overpriced for something that didn't hold up to the elements after less than a year. The metal work was actually a cheap thin metal with a thin coat of black paint that quickly faded and wore off in areas. The sconces were pretty but poor quality. I think this place is great if you're looking for vintage fixtures, small antique items or unique one of a kind pieces. Outside of that, I'm a bit wary of their pricing and the quality of their new items. Regardless, it's still an amazing place to browse, packed floor to ceiling with inventory in every building. You'll most definitely see some things that'll make you say WOW and you'll certainly feel the nostalgia of historic Fort Worth since it inhabits every nook and cranny of this business. All four corners of the street are part of this business. And it's awesome. One of the stores is in an old Piggly Wiggly. There's too much stuff to see it all. I didn't have much time after brunch to explore everything I wanted to, but what I got to see was amazing. Tubs, sinks, doors, lighting, globes, entryways, you name it. Everything is either super old or made to match your super old stuff. Antique set of drawers missing a pull? I'll bet you can find a match (reproduction or new) that will fit right in. There's even a room full of just ceiling tin. It'd be a whole mess of work to clean, straighten, and mount them all, but it would be a sight to see when finished. If for nothing else, this place is good for just checking old stuff out. My dad and I must have spent half an our snooping around a century-old outboard motor. The place is just awesome. read more

This is a great place to find off the wall pieces. Only issue is prices. Some of the items are right on the mark. Others not so much. There is a table that is falling apart. Wobbles when you touch it, etc. it is a great piece to restore. However the owner wanted $75 for the table. It is at best a $25 table you can find at a garage sale. Many of the pieces being made are from new wood mixed in with older pieces. You can feel the newly places wax on the wood. We will still shop here for some off the wall items we need for our own projects. read more

Working with Ralph (the owner) is the absolute worst. He was going to come look at some pieces of ours to buy from the early 1900s and said he'd call, and didn't, then said he'd come by, he didn't. I'm really disappointed in the lack of customer service. The store said he was in Arlington when we said he'd be at our house six hours earlier. We just sat and called and sat and called. I will never do business with this store if this is the type of customer service that the owner thinks is appropriate to provide. read more

They have an interesting spread of things, but it's all insanely expensive. The price makes it almost not worth the trip. I was looking for a clawfoot bathtub - I ended up getting an antique one off of Craig's list for $125 - and the one I wanted here was $1400 and still needed complete refinishing. The cheapest ones that need refinishing are still $600+. I had the same experience with their other items. read more

I was very disappoited when I went to this shop. From the outside and website it had alot of potential. However, a trained eye can clearly see that a high percentage of items are imports from india. I saw very very little american made architectural salvage (maybe 25%). I also saw a stack of crate and barrel boxes stacked up in the back which automatically throws up a red flag.
