The waterfall was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It was super loud inside of the canon which made it all the more exciting. Check out both the lower and upper box canon falls trails. The lower falls trail gets very close to the waterfall, we were getting wet from the spray we were so close. The upper trail has a great view of Ouray and a fun bridge to cross that leads into a tunnel. It is $7 for each adult, but super seniors, military, and children under 4 are free! No dogs allowed in the park. I don't think the dogs would want to come anyway with the metal bridges and aggressively loud waterfall. If you are in Ouray in the summertime this needs to be on your itinerary!

There are also stairs to near bottom of the waterfall. The high bridge trail is much more challenging, although one can opt to only climb the stair portion for a better view of Ouray and a little cardio. At the top of the stairs there is a small shelter, if you're feeling the altitude at this point it's a good idea not to continue further, as the trail continues to climb and there are no stairs/structure. There is a cable above the trail in sections for stability, and cables below some sections for safety. I'd guess the top of the stairs is a little less than half way to the high bridge. The bridge is a very sturdy structure, over a steep narrow gorge, the views of Box Cañon, the creek, waterfall, and town below are breathtaking. There is a hallway-like tunnel on the far side of the bridge, which is part of the perimeter trail. It's low in some spots but walkable, and offers some shade and cooling after the climb. The trail was drub when we went, it would be significantly more challenging/difficult with any moisture or icy conditions.

Then we zipped until the end of the day and had to climb aboard the train to return home. The guides made sure we all understood the safety aspects and how to do each line. The view is amazing just to sit back relax and see the mountains surrounding you is like none other. However, their price has gone up since the 1980s. I believe we paid three or five dollars to get in now it's $30 per person for a day. They don't provide towels but they'll sell you a towel for $10 they don't provide lockers, but you can rent one for $.50 Like I said, I love the Hot Springs pool but it's expensive that's the worst thing I can say about it will I go again, ... 100% But bring $$.

We brought our own towels and found a lounge chair to hold them. There are several pools and I was surprised to learn the lap pool is not geothermal water--cool city water there. The first pool was 88 degrees and designed for kids. Too chilly for me, but my son spent most of his time here playing water basketball and swimming around. Second pool was in the mid-90s and felt much better to me. I was also able to enjoy the 102 degree (about my threshold for being "hot") adults-only pool. Watching the pools and surrounding peaks as the sun set was awesome. Very nice. About these things were were stoked. We were not stoked to learn upon checkin that the slides had closed at 6pm, along with the activity pool. This info apparently relies on word of mouth--not their website--to know in advance. We'd have come the next morning had we known. Boo. Lame, even. With kids, this place is a winner if arriving well before the slides close. 6pm. You heard it here. Adults only? This beautiful and well-marked wooded trail ends with a waterfall and an unbeatable view of the town of Telluride. The hike is 2.5 miles one way to the Falls, with an elevation gain of 1,050 feet. You should plan between 1 hour and 1 hour 1/2 from the trailhead to the falls depending on your pace. 5 miles round trip, so it's perfect to start the day!

Discovered this site while driving from Ouray to Silverton just off Hwy 550. It is about 13…read moreminutes from Silverton. There are more than 50 campsites serving tent-campers, small RV's and pop-ups, and a few sites over 1,500 square feet to serve even the largest RV's. The park has one water pump, clean pit toilets and showers that will cost you $5 for 4 minutes! You can make online reservations and offer a variety of sites, from water front, lake view or standard. I stayed in a water front and boy was it a pretty site. The only drawback is that since there is no barrier, you are fully exposed and visible from most of the other surrounding sites. The wind blows hard and although my tent held up really well, there were moments I could not even enjoy the views because it was so windy!! Firewood is available for purchase but I had a hard time getting the wood to burn as did other campers around me as they shared the same experience. Site prices vary depending on season. Would definitely return, fishing is allowed but no swimming.

Bridal Veil Falls is absolutely worth the hike and was one of our favorite stops in Telluride. I'd…read morerate the trail as moderate. There aren't any ladders or technical sections, just a steady uphill climb that becomes a bit steeper after the second waterfall. We hiked it with our Labrador, Luna, and she had no trouble at all. Along the way, you'll pass two smaller waterfalls before reaching the main Bridal Veil Falls, which makes for great places to stop, take photos, catch your breath, and enjoy the scenery. The trail is about 2.5 miles round trip. It took us longer than average because we stopped often to take in the views, but it was well worth the time. There is also a decent amount of shade from the trees, which makes the hike more enjoyable on warmer days. It's a popular trail, so while it never felt crowded, there were people hiking up and down throughout the day. That made it feel safe without taking away from the experience. If hiking isn't your thing or you're short on time, you can also drive to the top with a high-clearance 4WD vehicle to see the waterfall without making the hike. Overall, this is a must-do if you're visiting Telluride. Beautiful scenery, dog-friendly, and one of the most rewarding hikes in the area.

There are three breathtaking waterfalls that are truly the highlight of the hike...Reaching the top feels so rewarding...and you even have the option to walk back using the road...which we did for an easier descent. I highly recommend this trail for anyone looking for a scenic adventure that's not overly difficult but still feels like a great accomplishment!!!

I have never ridden on or driven an ATV before today and I have to tell you- this was by far one of…read morethe most fun and beautiful things I have ever done! I will cherish the memories made today with my family and friends forever. We rented full day, 0800-1700, Polaris RZRs. There were 6 of us- 2 families of 3. We got in a little late, around 10am due to staying in Montrose the night before. They have to shuttle you up to the beginning of the trail due to a change in law from November 2021. They don't allow ATV/OHV use in town. So, it takes 15 min to get up to the area where you will get your ATV and be fitted for a helmet. Bring rain gear, hoodies, hat, sunscreen, charger for your phone or battery pack. The lunch provided was very good and we did bring more water and snacks. Recommend you do the same also. Since we left late, we had to rush a bit and not stop and see as much as we wanted but this did NOT deter from the sheer awesomeness of the trip. It is beautiful. I cannot convince you of this from photos or a video. You have to see if for yourself. The drive is bumpy. It is fun. It is on the edge of very tall mountains. I made my family scared by my driving- I guess I drive too fast and too close to the edge. I had so much fun! There are bathrooms along the way if needed. We found the maps useful. We did not use our phone map with the app at all. We probably should have- but there are signs and it is pretty easy. Staff explained it all before we left. Take Alpine loop to Animas Fork- see the ghost town- go to Cinnamon Pass and take that to Lake City. Drive through Lake City and follow sign to Engineer Pass. At the top of Engineer Pass- look ahead of where you going and you will see the trial go off to the right. This is Odom Point- you MUST MAKE TIME to stop there. It is the best view! People get married there and I see why. Then follow the trail back. We got rained on on the way back and it was COLD on the hot summer day. My hands got so cold I couldn't feel them. I also got soaked and covered in mud. I had so much fun but would have been happier if I had listened to my husband and brought rain gear. Rock Pirate employees were so helpful and nice and we are so grateful for all their help and advice. I would highly recommend them for any adventure! I cannot wait to do this again and would love to come back for a snowy experience in Silverton with them!

We were a group of 14 on 4 different machines. Our first contact with Tom when getting everyone…read moresigned in, he was incredibly rude & disrespectful. He thought our party had come through there before & caused a lot of problems, when my husband assured him that was not us he didn't seem to care or believe him and continued being rude. (This was a repeat trip for only 3 of the 14) The website says gas is included yet we were charged over $300 for a "gas charge" when the final bill came out, in years past, my husband said this never happened. There was no communication as to why we were charged this excess fee & when my husband asked to talk to Erik who he had worked with in years past, Tom refused to let him speak to him. I called to speak with Erik and was told he would call me back, he never did. Our 4 machines were returned with gas, they didn't have to drive to us with gas cans. The tires on the machines were worn but 1 machine in particular was very worn. We got a flat on the top of a mountain but thankfully there were some kind people who gave us a plug & aired us back up so we could get on our way. We got a 2nd flat (same bald tire) as we neared Rock Pirate & pushed the helping hands button, we waited but after 45 minutes the majority of us decided to head into town with the other 3 machines thinking we'd pass our "help" on the way but never did. The teens working were nowhere in sight but eventually did come out from behind the shop but didn't know anything about our call for assistance. They never got it. Hmmmm.....Eventually they finally headed out to get my husband. If you want a pleasant up front experience from employees that treat you with kindness & respect, honest workers that don't charge you because they feel like it, I would steer clear of this place! Customer Service lacks & so does their integrity.
