Sam came over and looked at the job, and gave me an estimate, which was fair, for the work. Like I said, this was a difficult project, and ran into a number of snags. As S&N proceeded with the demolition of the deck, there was a water pipe that needed to be rerouted, a gas pipe that needed to be removed, multiple electrical wirings that needed to be removed, and the main power cables that ultimately had to be replaced. S&N was great in working with all of these setbacks as we got them done, and finally got to the business of placing the patio pavers. Sam had great recommendations for how this should be done, and decided on two occasions that what was planned was not going to work. He always was up front and communicative about any changes. Both times he had to tear up what had already been done, to then replace the work with what was going to work best. Over a 10 day period of time, working in cooperation, I finally had a great new paver patio. I just need to do some siding repair and landscaping. Yes, he performed the job alone; nevertheless, I know I received as good of or better results than I would have received from a larger organization. He did a mediocre job, never leveled the yard and has been stringing me along for months to come fix the areas he did not do properly. He immediately told me he could take care of both. As we continued talking, I mentioned that my backyard was an overgrown disaster and asked if he did landscaping. His answer was, "We do everything." That ended up being the best thing I could have heard. What started as a deck and fence project turned into a complete backyard and front yard transformation. They removed the old deck, installed a beautiful new fence, built an incredible paver patio, graded the yard, seeded the lawn, and completely changed the look of our property. Throughout the entire project, Michael was unbelievably responsive. I work 12+ hour shifts as a nurse, so I often texted him after normal business hours and always told him there was no rush and that he could respond the next day. More often than not, he'd answer that same evening anyway. He checked in throughout the project, kept us informed every step of the way, and made the entire process incredibly easy. The quality of the work speaks for itself. The craftsmanship is outstanding, the crew worked efficiently, and everything was completed quickly without sacrificing quality. Hired and signed contract beginning of May, had to beg to get the work done the end of June. Four days to re-grout pavers and put in 2 front steps. Had to tell them to redo the one step as the blocks were crooked. Workers left their used water bottles and uneaten lunch on the front lawn. Cement splatters all over the pavers. Their Bobcat left rust on our driveway. When told about this, he said to call him to get someone to power wash it. Two calls and a month later no return calls. I guess once they get paid, they can care less.
