The Old Key Lime House is a definite stop for anyone passing through the area and a fun location for locals to enjoy a bite and view of the water. Yes it attracts a lot of tourists and can get quite busy. Valet parking is complimentary. As locals , we took a weekday ride along AIA and somehow found ourselves in the neighborhood without any hesitation to stop for late lunch. I had been there before but he had not and thoroughly enjoyed the old car at the entrance and the fish and pirates as we entered. We were seated immediately at a waterfront table as there were no big crowds at the time. I ordered mahi tacos - very good - and he ordered a grouper sandwich with sides of fries and creamed spinach (different) We both agreed, after having the Key Line Pie (not cheap) we would return in a heartbeat as it had to be the best I've ever tasted!!!

Great place! Huge! So many options to sit - both inside and outside. Good food & drinks. Service was awesome. Live music! Will definitely be back! Loved all the TVs for watching Sports. They even had a giant screen in the water - which was awesome!

Key lime pie ... too sweet for my liking.

This place has really gone downhill in terms of the food. I mean ... this is probably some of the worst restaurant food I've ever eaten. Nothing is fresh ... the menu is very limited ... and it tastes like something I could get at a Wa Wa gas station. It's really quite terrible. The atmosphere is cool. It's a tiki bar on steroids with several seating areas and views of the bay. At night, there is a big movie screen floating next to the dining areas which shows the basketball games ... and most nights there is live music. It's not usually good live music ... but a guitar player and a singer. The tiki bar side is the fun side ... you have cafeteria style seating on the other side ... and a few cool tables along a long dock with water on both sides. On most days, there is a long wait, even if the restaurant looks half full. The food is so bad. First of all, you would expect a lot of fresh seafood from a restaurant which sits on a marina, right near the ocean in Florida. Most of their seafood is frozen and fried. They have fried shrimp, grouper bites, fried fish tacos, nachos, fried foods and the worst burger I've ever eaten. The only sandwich that's actually 'fresh' fish is their blackened or grilled grouper sandwich. It tasted rubbery and chewy and was very thin. The grouper bites were basically really fishy tasting deep fried pieces of fish with a slimy inside and outer coating which slid right off the fish. The drinks are expensive ... but strong. The famous key lime pie is just average. It's 60% whipped cream and 40% key lime. It doesn't really have the tartness of a good key lime pie. It's much sweeter than Joe's Stone Crab's famous key lime pie. Very sugary and I doubt they actually make it fresh by grating the lime zest in. I would absolutely order a piece just to try it ... but don't believe the hype. Overall, this is an institution which has been around for a century. I find myself returning each time I am in the area, although each time the food seems to get worse. Come here to drink and have a good time and keep your expectations of the menu low. The menu needs an overhaul.

I've always been a fan of Old Key Lime and I still appreciate the food, great atmosphere and being near the water but I have NEVER been charged .25 for asking for extra pickles for my smash burger. That is insane to me. I am a "extra pickles" girl so I ask for them everywhere and never have I been charged extra for them. The waitress even said when I asked "well there are some already on there" never said there would be an extra charge. It's only .25 cent but the principal. Come on Old Key Lime. Are y'all that hard pressed for a buck?

This is a great spot on the waterfront with beautiful views! This place has a large capacity with plenty of servers to make sure you have everything you need. We got our order in quickly & as we were waiting, they had Keylime pie slices walking around so we picked one up to try. That pie is worth getting. It's super creamy smooth with a little tartness. It wasn't long before our entire table of six were served. I ordered the salmon burger with fries. The salmon burger is packed thick and flavorful. The fries are real slices of potatoes that are fantastic-maybe a little heavy on the seasoning. I also tried their shrimp tacos. They definitely have some flavorful spicy seasoning packed in there with the corn and bean salsa. My only complaint is my father-in-law asked for an extra side of dressing with 3 different people, and no one ever came with it. Also, nobody came to refill our drinks. The food is that good though you should definitely try this spot out & it's not overpriced. It's got a fun flair decor and a few big screen TVs to watch some sports they had on the Winter Olympics.

I met up with some friends here and we sat outside on the deck overlooking the water. On a weekday in the early afternoon, there were not that many other people out here to bother us while we were doing our day drinking. I managed to find a spot on the street so I didn't have to hand over my keys to the valet which was a plus. Their version of a Cobb Salad was interesting with something called "Forbidden black rice" that threw me out of ketosis. Otherwise, the salad was tasty and the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. Blue cheese was tasty and there was enough bacon. A friend got a slice of their Key Lime Pie and while they brought enough forks to share, he did not. It looked fabulous. A quick thank you to the waitress who risked her tip by telling a dude to put out his cigar. Cigar smoking is not allowed on the outside patio. [Review 476 of 2025 - 2118 in Florida - 24038 overall]

First of all, Michelle bartender at Tiki Bar is incredible! As is the water and vibe. Moved here in September, so I'm a local... today was my first visit to Old Key Lime House. Asked about the crab cake... highly recommended, as no filler .. yall, that is true, but if it's three ounces... for$26, I'd be surprised. (Pictured below.) Mashed potatoes (also recommended...) gluey and gloopy... made my own to fold it into. (Pictured below.) Star of the show? Crumbled key lime pie!!! Awesome! So I'd recommend going for the view, tiki bar and crumbled key lime pie... skip dinner, you'll thank me!

So I had forgotten about this gem. Came here with a friend but didn't have time to stay for dessert so we had to go back. The Wayne o sandwich is my favorite and the key lime pie was perfect. The setting is beautiful and servers were friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Amazing place on intercoastal waterway. Great views and location. We had grouper sandwiches and shrimp and mahi tacos plus fries and onion rings. All was very tasty. But the star was an app crab shrimp Spinach dip we got. Crab flavor so fresh and sweet. Highly recommend

Old Key Lime House is a landmark waterside bar and restaurant with a location that's been around for decades. The place is absolutely massive with about 5 bars and seating areas, there's plenty of space to grab a meal or drink with a great view of the inter coastal. Service is pretty quick and friendly, and very well staffed. The food is about what you would expect from a casual waterfront spot, with plenty of classics and seafood. The namesake key lime pie is pretty fantastic too. It's a more homemade style, with a super thick crust and more whipped cream than you'd know what to do with. Overall, highly recommend swinging by at least once to try out this historic dockside location.

Not a whole lot worth writing about. Everything we ordered came out overcooked. Salmon was dry, grouper was dry, fries were just this side of burnt, and for restaurant named Key Lime, I'm honestly not sure why they think their key lime pie is good... Service was fine though not great at watching for empty glasses. Live music was really good.

If you're looking for a place to make you feel like you're on vacation..., this is it! Located right on the water in Lake Worth there's valet parking in front and if you're lucky you may be able to find a spot on I just love this family run waterside restaurant. Super casual with a real Key West party vibe. If you can sit by the water, you'll enjoy some beautiful views. it's always fun and lively and if you're a Gators fan there's no better place to watch a game.. Live music almost every night of the week. Fresh seafood, and great drinks!

I guess there was a lot of things on the menu with something in each I wouldn't like, but with a message like "Modifications and substitutions politely declined" in red bold letters makes you feel like you shouldn't even bother to ask. I did ask for a slice of lime and it never would've come if we didn't go ask for it. I settled for a wedge salad because I never had one that was awful. I was nervous of the buttermilk dressing instead of blue cheese and told our server, and he said he would put it in the side. My husband went with fish and chips. Well, I was wrong: the wedge was huge and looked great, but there was something in it that was an off taste. I thought maybe it was the dressing, but I don't think it was. I tried everything by itself, but the acrid like taste was so imbedded in my mouth, I couldn't be sure what it was. I actually think it may have been the blue cheese itself. There are many varieties and perhaps it was one I just don't like. I didn't eat much, but I don't think anyone actually cared if I did or not. My husband thought the fish was fine. Wasn't too greasy or overly battered. Fries were VERY limp. Even though we were not thrilled with our food, we had to try the key lime pie. Disappointed in that as well, but worlds better than our dinners. The crust is very thick, but good, there's a huge amount of of flavorless whipped cream. Definitely fresh, but even just a little sugar in it could have helped it, otherwise it was blah, and the lime curd...I didn't taste lime at all, but great texture. The views are great, but it's not enough to ever come back for. May be a great place to hang out with your friends if you're not very hungry.

Parking is tight, but that's because it's a deceptively large inside! If you want a lively bar vibe, they have that. If you'd prefer something quieter and view the channel they've got that. The food is prepared to order, and the menu is extensive. If you're getting a soup get ready because the servings are VERY generous. And if you get a bowl, it could even serve as a meal. We got the chowder and it was fantastic! The menu features specials on certain days and it was a fish fry night. It truly is unlimited, but if it's busy (which it is a popular place) do expect some wait times. So enjoy the company and prepare for a filling evening with friendly staff and great food. The pricing is very reasonable for what you get, and it's definitely worth a stop in.

It was hot AF so we walked in with every intention of a cold beer and in the cold AC, but sadly the noise level from multiple tables even surpassed the music coming from the bar and we were forced to seek respite outside under the chickee. The hive is apparently dog friendly and judging by the party with a laundry basket full of yapping , they don't care much if your dogs are well behaved or not. The food was passable, though barely. Onion rings and chicken wings were both crispy, but, ordering the wings 'medium' found them sitting in a barely pink spice free ooze. Fried fish fingers were perfectly cooked but the choice of Basa as a fish tells you all you need to know about the ingredient quality here, which is doubly surprising given how expensive this menu is for the offerings... Blackened chicken nachos tasted like someone poured the frozen bag of chicken right into the plate for heating. The unripe tomato & corn salsa wasn't even enough to bring these things up to par and we left 3/4 on the plate. Beer was cold but service was so slow as to be non existent, and when she was present there was no personality at all, meanwhile other tables had constant attention. I had actually heard their desserts are good but after this debacle of a meal we weren't gonna risk it...

Banana Boat -- Boynton Beach (3 stars) Surf & Turf Nachos…read more-- $21 -- "The Mirage Nacho" I only review nachos. That's the whole thing. So I can't tell you about the waterfront, the 40-plus years Banana Boat's been serving Boynton, or the rest of the menu, which, for the record, looked legitimate. I'm here for one plate. The Surf & Turf Nacho sounds incredible on the menu. Filet mignon and shrimp. That's how they get you to $21, and I paid it. Here's what showed up. The filet retired its number after only a few appearances. On a $21 surf-and-turf nacho, the turf scored early and then vanished like a witness in a mob movie. The shrimp came in bigger numbers but arrived whole and uncut, and nobody in that kitchen asked the one question that matters: how does a whole shrimp sit on a nacho chip? It doesn't. It sits on top looking decorative while the chip underneath has an identity crisis. And where would this be without mentioning my old nemesis. Beans. They don't belong on nachos. Ever. If you're using them, you're just trying to make the plate bigger. Maybe you need a big lifted truck too. This isn't a surf-and-turf nacho. It's a nice thought. A dish designed to impress on paper, justify a price, and get photographed; Not to really be eaten as a nacho. It was also a small portion overall. I finished it, but that's not the achievement it sounds like. Finishing a $21 nacho because there wasn't much of it is not a win. It's literally the complaint. Credit where it's due, because I'm not here just to swing: * The queso was actually melted. After a long run of unmelted shredded-cheese disasters around here, that matters. * The guacamole was generous and well made. * It arrived hot, eight minutes out. That counts. * The flavor was genuinely decent. Everything present tasted fine. The problem was what was present, and how little of it there was. The Fork Rule was violated immediately. Rectangular plate, whole shrimp, oversized store-bought chips, everything arranged for the camera. This was never getting eaten with your hands, which means it was never really a nacho. Verdict: 5/10 -- The Mirage Nacho. It looked great on the menu. It tasted decent on the plate. It just wasn't a nacho. The flavor is the only thing keeping it out of the basement. Order it if you want a pretty $21 appetizer. Don't order it expecting nachos. -Florida Nacho Man
