If you have a boat in Boynton, you're coming here! Always dock space available, chill vibes (can be casual or fancy, whatever you want to make it), and good food and service! They do switch up their menu too so it's nice to get to try some new options!
I've been coming here for years and have always loved it. My family came out for 4th of July and had a good time. Fireworks were not seen at the restaurant but were very visible from the bridge above. Drinks were tasty. Service was fairly quick. Some items had to be asked for a few times but overall we could look past that.
We grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and were greeted right away. The view alone kept us entertained for hours. Between watching the boats go by and all the people watching, there was never a dull moment. Walking in, it feels like you've stepped off a boat and into a laid-back waterfront spot. From the bar, you can see just about everything, including 2 Georges next door. It was a beautiful evening with a nice breeze coming off the water, which made the atmosphere even better. We started with the coconut shrimp, which was so good I completely forgot to take a picture before eating it. The shrimp were large, crispy, and packed with flavor. The mango salsa added a nice sweet and fresh touch that paired perfectly with the crunchy coconut coating. We also shared the salmon topped with crab. It came with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a creamy lemon sauce that tied everything together. The fish was cooked perfectly, and every bite was delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Great food, beautiful views, and a relaxing atmosphere. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu
Came back again for dinner on a Saturday evening with 3 other couples. We valeted our car and sat outdoors on the patio overlooking the intercostal, at a big round table. The patio faces east so we don't have the beautiful sunset; we don't have the sun in our faces either! Katy Slowikowski is the head chef at Prime Catch. The Therien family started in the restaurant business in 1971. They also own Prime Catch, nearby. It is estimated that over 12 million customers have visited Banana Boat, and over 7,000 employees have worked here over the years. Currently there are a few 30 + year employees. This evening we listened to the Nicolas Cole Band while dining. There are gluten free, bar bite, brunch and kids menus. The dinner menu is Ala carte. I love their chowders & fresh seafood salads, this is what I usually order. On the menu are tacos, burgers, steaks, wraps along with fish & seafood choices. Every time I've been here my meal has been fresh and delicious, we've never been disappointed. Casey brought us a round of drinks, my peach sangria was refreshing & delicious. We started by sharing the lobster lettuce wraps. We each had a piece of fried breaded, lobster and slaw wrapped in lettuce, it was tasty. For our entrée we shared swordfish over rice, the swordfish was rather small. It was mostly rice. We shared the Blondie brownies stack for dessert. It was huge warm and very rich. All eight of us enjoyed our meals. We enjoyed the band and got up and danced. The older people left and a younger crowd came in at 8 o'clock. It was a nice evening out.

I had the chicken parm at Banana Boat in Boynton Beach. This isn't really an Italian restaurant, but the dish was still good. Not the best I've had, but definitely enjoyable. I would have preferred a bit more sauce, and the chicken was a thick breaded cut rather than the thinner, pounded style I'm used to. Still, it was tasty. It came with linguini, which isn't my first choice, I usually prefer ziti or angel hair, but it worked. The garlic bread on the side was very good. One thing to note, no bread was brought out before the meal. We also had mild chicken wings that leaned a little hotter than expected, but they were flavorful and I didn't mind the extra heat. The churrasco steak was also tasty. Someone else in our group ordered a bowl of linguini, which was a generous portion and very filling. Another person had the grilled swordfish with Caribbean shrimp fried rice and was very happy with it. Service was just okay. Our waiter was polite, but not very attentive. We had to ask for water a few times even though he was nearby. He did check in toward the end of the meal and asked about dessert or coffee. I got the sense he might have been new, and to be fair, the place was pretty busy. This spot is consistently busy every time I've been here, so I'd recommend making a reservation or you'll likely be waiting at least an hour. Also be prepared for valet parking, as regular parking is limited and tough to find. I've been here a few times and would return again, but there are a few areas that could be better. 4 stars tonight.
It couldn't have been a better time at Banana Boat today. I had heard of this place through the grapevine. When I circled back looking at it yesterday morn we decided to pop up and check it out. It's a valet only place, free with tip. After a quick exchange with a nice guy taking the keys we walked into the welcoming entry. We saw the nice bar but I thought I saw a picture of a outside bar online. The hostess confirmed it, and pointed us to the outside spot. We lucked out with a couple spots right on the water. It was a warm day but the spots at the bar were covered thank goodness. We got lunch, which was pretty good. My gals fish and chips felt a little undercooked to me. But my Seafood au gratin was exquisite. We both agreed it was top notch. The drinks were darn good, with the standout being the Key Lime pie martini. It was a little pricey, but it felt darn near worth it with the good vibes we had. We will be ack son I think, to see if we can have an even better time.
The food was absolutely delicious. The French onion soup was perfectly made. I like that they had an option whether you wanted a cup or a bowl for the French onion soup which a lot of restaurants do not have also it's oceanfront which adds to the overall ambiance. The drinks were delicious and the service was awesome. The fact that this is a waterfront restaurant was absolutely stunning. Also this place gets super busy make sure you either have a reservation or call ahead this is a local favorite
Was invited to meet some of my neighbors from my community and have lunch. We sat outside by the water and all I can say is what a fantastic setting. The ambiance of the live music coupled with the beautiful views of the intercoastal, transport you to paradise. We ordered a burger, chicken wrap and seafood platter. Everyone complimented the food and all enjoyed themselves. The drinks were delicious and right on point, the service was very efficient and they came around quite often. The bartenders are very welcoming and attentive, this is a great spot for a good night out or a little day drinking. I will definitely be returning..
I really wanted to write an amazing review because it was our anniversary, I really did. But our main meal came out after over an hour and 15 minutes after our appetizer and after people who sat and ordered after us got theirs all around us. Seems they lost our ticket, it happens. The mahi fish dish was Smokey and creamy, very good. The mahi special my husband had was quite tasty in the creamed corn sauce. And my meal was ok, crab and shrimp stuffed salmon was good but definitely could use seasoning and salt or a sauce. Offered a dessert for our troubles which was good. Didn't take any photos of the main because by the time it finally got to us, we were super hungry and dug in.
We had so much fun. The place was crowded, but we found two seats at the bar. The food was delicious and the service was great too. I had a seafood salad boat and it came with a lot of fruit and it was delicious. My husband had the crabcakes and they were served over arugula and he enjoyed it as well. We also shared french fries and we each got New England clam chowder. The soup was good, but it was a little too thick and was loaded with clams, so it was very good. We love the flavor. Every dish we ordered that was supposed to be hot was very hot and we love that. We enjoyed listening to the live music out on the deck and they had different music inside. People were dancing and it was a great vibe.
NEW MENU alert! Tried the new Cuban Sandwich and it was excellent. I liked the real cuban baked bread. My friend had the Steak Caesar Salad. So glad they brought back the Caesar Salad. We asked for it every time after they took it off the menu. The bar bites menu has also added some items. Best thing I noticed is theat they didn't raise their prices with the new menu printing. That alone gets 5 stars! I will be back next week to try the chicken parm flatbread that is also new. The lady next to me ordered it and it would be great as a sharing dish. Think pizza with a chicken parm meal on top and then and arugula salad on top of that. Mmm!
Had 'farewell' lunch at one of our grandson's favorite restaurants in Boynton Beach.. atmosphere was lively ( sat outside with view of the Inter-coastal). Our server , Nicole, was delightful and attentive. The menu was extensive .. so many choices.. a definite 'must try' when in Boynton Beach

We were invited here for a surprise birthday dinner. Someone was pulling out as soon as we entered the lot so we didn't have to valet. We walked in and the kind hostesses directed us to the party room. The lovely waitress came over to take our drink orders. I got the deliciously strong toasted coconut martini. For my entree I decided on the macadamia yellowtail snapper which was amazing with vegetable fried rice and the sweet and sour pineapple aioli transported me to a tropical island. Hubby's grilled swordfish was also great. We had a grand time celebrating with friends. Afterwards we headed on to the patio to briefly listen to the band before going on the tiki boat. read more

Party of 10 two sets of tables. Which was perfect. Meagan was our waitress (I kept calling her Amanda, never did she once corrected me). We enjoyed her interaction at our table. Her personally was positive and perfect with our group. One of our guess said. She was clean (no tattoos) And perfect. We truly enjoyed her outlook, her beautiful smile and her personality is impeccably. We have been coming every year for the past 3 yrs. Banana boat it's halfway point to meet ours friends that are visiting from Italy. We love the food the atmosphere. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 Reservation Reservations recommended Seating type Indoor dining area, Bar area, Outdoor patio / terrace, Booth seating, Counter seating Vegetarian options Ordered onion soup which had cheese. Banana Boat -- Boynton Beach (3 stars) Surf & Turf Nachos -- $21 -- "The Mirage Nacho" I only review nachos. That's the whole thing. So I can't tell you about the waterfront, the 40-plus years Banana Boat's been serving Boynton, or the rest of the menu, which, for the record, looked legitimate. I'm here for one plate. The Surf & Turf Nacho sounds incredible on the menu. Filet mignon and shrimp. That's how they get you to $21, and I paid it. Here's what showed up. The filet retired its number after only a few appearances. On a $21 surf-and-turf nacho, the turf scored early and then vanished like a witness in a mob movie. The shrimp came in bigger numbers but arrived whole and uncut, and nobody in that kitchen asked the one question that matters: how does a whole shrimp sit on a nacho chip? It doesn't. It sits on top looking decorative while the chip underneath has an identity crisis. And where would this be without mentioning my old nemesis. Beans. They don't belong on nachos. Ever. If you're using them, you're just trying to make the plate bigger. Maybe you need a big lifted truck too. This isn't a surf-and-turf nacho. It's a nice thought. A dish designed to impress on paper, justify a price, and get photographed; Not to really be eaten as a nacho. It was also a small portion overall. I finished it, but that's not the achievement it sounds like. Finishing a $21 nacho because there wasn't much of it is not a win. It's literally the complaint. Credit where it's due, because I'm not here just to swing: * The queso was actually melted. After a long run of unmelted shredded-cheese disasters around here, that matters. * The guacamole was generous and well made. * It arrived hot, eight minutes out. That counts. * The flavor was genuinely decent. Everything present tasted fine. The problem was what was present, and how little of it there was. The Fork Rule was violated immediately. Rectangular plate, whole shrimp, oversized store-bought chips, everything arranged for the camera. This was never getting eaten with your hands, which means it was never really a nacho. Verdict: 5/10 -- The Mirage Nacho. It looked great on the menu. It tasted decent on the plate. It just wasn't a nacho. The flavor is the only thing keeping it out of the basement. We made a reservation formy wife's birthday for a Tuesday evening at 5:15 pm with outside seating. we were seated within 5 minutes. Our waiter "Sky" took our drink and appetizer order. My mom and my wife shared the crab cakes and I got a bowl of clam chowder. both were excellent. For the meal my mom ordered the coconut shrimp with sweet potato fries, I ordered the special of prawns stuffed with limp crab, and my wife ordered the filet medallions. The only disappointing part was the steak was very over done and tough. My wife did not want to complain so I shared one of my shrimp and took the rest if her steak. It was made the way I like it and not find it tough. My shrimp and my mom's shrimp were fantastic. We ended the meal with key lime pie and coconut cream cake. The coconut creme was one of the best we ever had, and Sky comped the key lime pie for my wife's birthday. All in all a great experience. read more

Verena at Delray's monthly lunch outing took place last Friday. This popular spot, with a view of the intracoastal is slways busy. The valets cordially directed our driver to a safe space to allow our seniors to safely disembark. We were a party of 9 with advance reservations. The servers, Ashleigh and Nicole were patient, pleasant and answered questions about the dishes. We all had a great time and the food was perfectly seasoned and plated. It's been a really long time since I've been to Banana Boat. I live in Boynton Beach but I haven't been in over a decade! I am so glad I have rediscovered Banana Boat as they have really great dishes and views. Arriving on a Saturday, there was a 30 minute wait for outdoor seating around 3PM. I thought that was long since it wasn't exactly lunch or dinner but the wait was worth it. I received a buzzer and walked around the restaurant's exterior. Once we were seated, we noticed that the fans above outside were very strong. It was windy and kept blowing on our table. I can see the pro - no bugs. However, it was cold for me. We ended up moving to a booth by the water and it was a much more pleasant experience! We really enjoyed the boats and jet skis passing by. A great view. For our appetizer, we started off with the calamari and crispy Thai fried shrimp. The calamari came with marinara sauce and lemon. Very fresh and tasty. The crispy Thai fried shrimp was also great. We then got our entrees, and wow the portions! Definitely can be split into 2 meals. The chicken Parmesan was delicious. It was 3 full chicken cutlets, pasta, and toast. The shrimp and scallop scampi was also very memorable. I thought the shrimp were a perfect size. The scallops were very fresh and the linguini in the white wine garlic sauce kept my fork going back for more. This pasta also came with toast. We were all impressed with our entrees. For dessert, we tried the brownie stack and we were not impressed. It's probably because we were assuming it'd be something similar to a molten lava cake with the ice cream on top. The brownies it came with weren't as sweet and had nuts in them. They did give a good amount of ice cream with this dessert dish though. It was okay. We are so glad we gave it a try and we are looking forward to coming back for the food and the views. read more
We had guests visiting who wanted seafood, a nice water view and some enjoyable music, so we headed to Banana Boat and accomplished all three goals. The menu also included several landlubber options for those of us who didn't want the sea -based fare. We sat in the outdoor covered area and welcomed the evening breeze while listening to an excellent singer, who was located by the bar. The music was just a bit louder than I liked as we needed to raise our voices to hear each other. It wasn't overwhelming though and was enjoyable. One person in our group had the macadamia nut crusted yellowtail snapper, which was quite flavorful and a nice-sized portion. It included an amazing pineapple aioli sauce. The prize for the largest portion went to my wife, who had the chicken parmesan with linguini pasta. In fact, it was listed on the menu as "big". The entree was so large that she took home enough for two more meals. The chicken was delicious but because the pieces were stacked on top of each other, only the top piece had sufficient mozzarella cheese. Another person had the blackened mahi fish, which was accompanied by rice, corn, black beans and 3 large plantain chips. This entree won the award as the smallest among our group and was, in fact, surprisingly small. I had the churrasco flat iron steak with a tangy chimichurri sauce and a tortilla chip garnish. I was disappointed by how tough the steak was. I almost sent it back but didn't want to hold up the rest of the group. Overall, we had a nice meal, and the food was generally good. The entrees were all beautifully presented on their plates and quite enticing despite a few flaws in the execution. The server was friendly and did a good job. Had dinner here tonight. Food - good martini except that the lemon twist had the end of the lemon on it. Like the stem part. Otherwise fine. My steak Chimmichuri was great. Swapped the rice for broccoli. Service - top notch Ambiance - looks like there was a renovation. Really nice. read more
We sat at the bar for happy hour which they have every day from certain times. We got the slider and the shrimp Thai taco both were $9 and worth it. All of the drinks were 30% off. We tried the Keylime martini and the peach sangria. The Keylime martini was delicious the peach sangria. I was not a fan of and wouldn't order that one again.. the ambience was perfect right on the water and they have the games playing for football. We were still hungry so we tried to Seabass, which was also delicious. Staff was also very friendly and attentive. read more

Really good service and cocktails. We stayed at an airbnb nearby here so it was easy to get over here for dinner. The bartender/waitress that served us on NYE was very nice. read more
Fun waterfront spot with great vibes! The bartenders were super friendly and had awesome drink recs. We loved the surf and turf nachos--loaded with fresh toppings and full of flavor. But the real standout was the crab cake melt--packed with huge chunks of lump crab meat on a hearty bun. You can probably skip the calamari, though--it was a bit on the skimpy side. read more

Do they allow dogs on the patio?
Yes, they do. I’ve seen them in the bar area, but unless they are a service or emotional support dog they are not allowed in the dining area even on the outside. I hope this was helpful.
