Hideously awful service from the time of arrival until I threw myself out for nobody wanting to serve me. This is a dark contrast compared to the absolutely wonderful staff at the Ritz Carlton hotel down the road, where the staff and service are impeccable. I for the life of me could not get anyone to serve me at the pool so I made my way to Ridleys Porch where the host stand remained abandoned and absolutely nobody would serve me their either. Upon bringing this to the Assistant Manager, he offered no recourse but to mildly apologize. He made no effort to have me seated or get served and seemed annoyed that he was bothered. I promptly left and will never return to this club. read more

One of the main reasons we chose The Beach Residences at the Ritz-Carlton for our winter stay was the stunning Lido Beach. After a memorable Thanksgiving week here several years ago, we were thrilled to return for two months this time. Every moment was a dream, especially the days spent on the beach, which truly felt like heaven on earth. I want to start by giving special recognition to Demar, whose leadership of the Beach truly made our stay exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Demar went above and beyond to ensure our experience was flawless. On our first morning, I eagerly rushed to the beach, only to realize the club didn't open until 9 AM. As I tried to enter, Demar greeted me warmly and took the time to chat, making sure everything was ready for our stay. Little did I know at the time, he was the manager, but his kindness and attention to detail immediately stood out. Demar's thoughtful and hands-on leadership set the tone for the rest of our time at the beach. What impressed us the most about Demar was his dedication to his team and his guests. Alongside his amazing team members--Mike, Luke, AJ, Tyler, Keefer, Grace, Evan, and Gabriela--Demar and his team ensured that we had the perfect beach spot every day. They set up our chairs right by the water, making it easy for us to relax and enjoy the beach. The team worked tirelessly, setting up and taking down all day, every day, while making sure everyone was well taken care of. They ran hard, amazing to witness! The beach itself is beautiful, with the sound of waves crashing and running through the rocks creating the perfect peaceful atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for long walks and shell collecting, which we enjoyed every day. We also loved the Food and Beverage service at the Beach Club. The menu offered plenty of variety, so we never got bored, and they were always open to making adjustments--like swapping shrimp for blackened mahi in my poke bowl. My favorite drink was the Mai Tai, while my husband loved the Rum Runner. On the days we wanted a break from alcohol, we enjoyed the iced tea, served by the glass or carafe. Our servers--Jessie, Cesar, Raul, Eric, Eduardo, Kira, Leah, and Tash--were all fantastic and always ready to assist, both on the beach and at the pool. The back-of-house pool and beach team also did an incredible job keeping everything clean, stocked, and running smoothly. Special thanks to Carlos, Edward, Ramon, Mara, and Daniel for making sure everything was pristine and well-organized. In short, our time at The Beach Residences was unforgettable. I can completely understand why this is a preferred Destiination for those looking to catch some sunrays and relax a bit. There's something to be said about beach and valet staff who remember your name and cater to your every need. I arrived and asked for a good view, and a little sun and the umbrella was placed perfectly to meet this request. Drilled in the sand and positioned just right above my chair. The wait staff were hit or miss, You could order a cocktail wait so long that you're literally be thirsty, order another after searching for someone and at drop off, they'd see the ice in your bucket is melted and do nothing unless you ask and then disappear for another hour ---- thus the reason for one star deduction. I would definitely return for a day or to get away, I would recommend the same to any friends or family with a similar plan in mind. FYI- The beach club is only for members or those staying at the hotel. A free shuttle brings guests to the club or in the alternative, complementary valet parking is also available. read more

I honestly cannot imagine how anyone is paying in the six figure range for a membership at the Ritz beach club. The food at Ridley's Porch would be expected at a cheap motel. The loungers by the pool were all dirty, and the ones on the beach were the cheap plastic banded ones. The beach is also full of shells which will cut up your feet if you're not wearing shoes. There were only three towels left when we got there at a reasonable hour and were never restocked. The staff was friendly though so I will add a star for that! Also of note, if you're staying at the hotel it can take up to 20 min to get to the beach club during peak hours! read more

We stayed at the ritz 2 nights and the second day at the beach club the service is just as bad as the first. I thought they were understaffed at the beach and probably hot in their masks. But they shouldn't take it out in their customers. Staying at a ritz usually means guaranteed high standards and great service. But the ritz in Sarasota at the beach club has bad service. I had the privilege of visiting the Ritz Beach Club in Sarasota with a member. It is such a beautiful spot on Ledo beach to relax and enjoy the beach. They have tons of beach chairs with umbrellas on the beach and they provide towels and set up everything for you. They then provide wonderful service, both food and drink on the beach to your beach chair. The Beach Club also has a nice pool and a large hot tub that overlooks the beach. The drinks are fantastic but the food is just okay for how pricy it is. Members do get a discount on food and beverages but guests do not. If you have an opportunity to stay at the hotel or visit with a member, I highly recommend for a relaxing beach experience. read more

Why oh why do they allow owners to have their dogs out on the balcony? I love dogs as much as anyone. But they bark all day long and the sound echoes and bounces off nearby buildings. Especially the black poodle on the 2nd or 3rd floor. You know who you are. Have some respect for other people. read more

Such a great experience! We got to our cabana at 1010 am and from the moment we got there it was amazing. Enough chairs in the sun and plenty in the shade. If we needed a seat by the pool w an umbrella up/ that was an easy option at this hour! Once we got started- Lori was on point with all our services! When we left at 330- she even told us we could hold our cabana through sunset! How great do they make it! Was with every penny since it made it a perfect day for us adults as well as the kids! Wow! This place is a winner! But know you can only go if you are a guest of the Ritz Carlton Sarasota as this is a private pool and beach area. But the location is stellar . . on the Lido Key, with a beautiful beach and the ocean pounding out a rhythm that instantly soothes and comforts. From the time you pull up to the front gate (know that there is also complimentary shuttle service from the hotel that runs on the hour to the Club and on the half hour back from the Club) you are warmly greeted and directed to the top of the hill where a friendly valet will take your car (complimentary). At that point you can go to the restaurant which is to your left, the locker rooms which are to your right, or walk straight ahead to a beautiful vista of the ocean in the background with the large pool area closer in. From the second you walk down the stairs- there are people there to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. You lounge chair is artfully arranged to capture just the perfect rays of the sun, your beverage of choice is brought to you so quickly you don't even remember ordering it, and if you need anything, you need only raise your flag and someone will come running. There is the large pool flanked by Jacuzzis on either end. And if you venture out to the ocean- just know that they have the same level of service out there, from someone to find you the perfect chair, to them actually finding things for the kids to do, like sand toys, etc. The food that comes is a step above expected pool food with wraps, salads and burgers winning high marks as well as the chicken fingers for the kids. And if a Tiki bar is your thing- there is one here just outside the fenced in area (open to the public- see my separate review) that should have you swaying to the music while you sip on your pina colada! But what really makes this place special are the people who work here. From the first day you show up, the Ritz service is there is full force. You are greeted by name, your preferences are mentally recorded so that each subsequent time you get exactly what you like without having to ask, and each person you see stops to make your visit just that much more enjoyable. A big thanks to Cindy, Amy, Brandon, Bailey, Chas, Jordan and Erik (and Don the front gate guy as well as Larry the valet) who took such great care of me on my recent visit. While a place at the beach is a wonderful amenity to have, it is the staff that really has you wanting to come back and these people ensured that I will do just that! I hesitated before booking this trip here as I really prefer a hotel that is right on the beach versus having to shuttle or drive there every day. But after having experienced it first hand, it is so effortless to get here, and once here they provide anything I might need, that the hesitation was unwarranted. The Ritz Beach Club is amazing . . . . . .the perfect place to wile away the time on a sunny afternoon . . .and just what I expect from a hotel of this caliber! read more

3.5 stars The facility is nice, clean and there's room for everyone to get what they want- indoor, outdoor, pool, beach, etc. We went right to the beach. We were met at the bottom of the ramp by a young man who told us that they did not have any more beach umbrellas. We decided to go out there anyway. He set us up with two chairs and laid out the towels, leaving us with some bottled water. I eventually ordered one of their specialty drinks that sounded fun and refreshing. It took a long time for it to arrive and really didn't live up to any expectation. Other family members of mine were on the beach and ordered hot dogs... they waited over 40 minutes for them to arrive. While I hung out and burnt, my boyfriend and brother decided to go snorkeling. They came back very disappointed. The googles were just regular swim goggles and not snorkel goggles. The snorkel couldn't attach and so they had a really hard time enjoying it. When they asked about paddleboards they received mixed answers until our 'waiter' cleared the air. There's an outside company you can pay while at the Club, but the Ritz has paddleboards at the hotel and that's where you use them. Overall we just weren't wowed. read more

It's nice the beach is separate from the hotel, it gives it a less frenetic atmosphere. Definitely with a visit. read more

I loved their beach club, the waitresses are so friendly, especially Lori. She was so nice and accommodating. She helped me blow up my floaty for my baby without me asking. She also told us that Ritz Kids under 2-yrs old eat free across the hotel. We didn't know this and were charged twice for two meals, Tori helped take care of the mishaps and even apologized for it even though it's not her fault. We enjoyed our pool time and delicious a coconut shrimp. read more

Access to the beach club is one of the lovely perks of staying at either of the Ritz' in Sarasota. The sand is soft, the water is warm, the staff are eager to help - what more can you want? I was here for a corporate event, so I can't speak to prices, but I will say that our drinks were refreshing, and the hors d'oeuvres were inhaled almost as quickly as they were served. If you stay at the Ritz Carlton you have access the to The Beach Club on Lido Key. You can drive there or take a shuttle that leaves every hour on the hour for The Beach Club. The Beach Club is wonderful. There are plenty of attendants who help with anything you need. They set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach or by the pool at your request. The beach is beautiful and not crowded. The pool is large with a zero entry. Very family friendly. There is a large hot tub as well. The poolside food was great. We reserved a cabana and it was worth it. They had towels on our lounges and a bucket of water bottles chilling in ice. There was also a hammock hanging between two of the poles which I loved laying in, swaying in the breeze and listening to the waves crash on the beach. Our attendant came frequently and asked us if we needed anything and was quick to get anything we requested. This place was was just a tiki bar and sand when i first went there with my mom back in the day. The drinks where awesome in Solo cups for like 5 bucks or something like that. $16 hamburger that are those Sam's club frozen patties. $14 chicken tenders that you get at little league baseball parks. Nothing is fresh made nor house made. Cisco truck, premade garbage. It's the lowest quality of food with high prices. Drinks were undrinkable. My tiny drink was $14 and I dumped it out. I saw other people returning drinks. We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday, spent over $200 and the food was comparable to Mc Donald's. I wish I was kidding. I can't believe the Ritz has their name on this. When we got back to our resort 3 of us were sick with food poisoning. Avoid this place. read more

The Ritz Carlton Sarasota owns this gorgeous property on Lido Beach. The hotel will shuttle the guests over to the beach, or St. Armands (or anywhere you ask them to take you for that matter!). What's not to love about the Ritz? Showers and locker rooms that are the best of the best. Towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, tiki bars, cabana boys, swimming pools, live music, and a restaurant, all in one location. The landscaping is gorgeous and the customer service is unparalleled to anywhere else. I had such an enjoyable time here, I can't wait to return. read more
