I had high hopes based on reviews, but this was our least favorite winery stop of the day. The atmosphere was really lacking...no curb appeal outside, no ambiance inside- harsh (boring lighting) cheap decor, no music. The patio out back was almost painfully plain and open to look at- I feel like if they would invest some money they could give it a better vibe- but everything feels cheap. We ordered a glass of wine a little after 5 and all but three tables appeared available- around 5:30 the worker(owner?) showed us that our table had a (tiny-) paper on it saying it was reserved at 6pm. And asked us to move tables- when we looked all of the other EMPTY tables also had signs (and no people) saying they were also reserved for 6pm - anyhow- we quickly finished our glass of wine and left/ needless to say- not a very good experience- wouldn't return. On a positive note- the wine was decent. read more

Love this place. My favorite is the slushy. Made from the wine. I also have had the dry Riesling. Snacks available for purchase. You are also free to order food and have it delivered to the winery. Summer is our favorite time of year so we can sit outside. Love trivia nights and love the entertainment. No other alcohol is served. If you don't drink you can purchase bottled water. Such a wonderful building and atmosphere. read more

Close to our family farm is a cute little winery, only 7 years old, named Old Mason. Some of our family have never been despite the proximity. When we arrived, I waited in line at a horseshoe bend, distanced socially from other patrons ahead of me. I chose one of their more popular vintages based on an earlier yelp review called the Statesman, which is a sweet red blend, dedicated to servicemen, among other people of America. To the wine I added Amish sausage, crackers and cheese. I probably should have picked a semi dry wine because when we opened the Statesman it was akin to Welches Grape juice. (Next time). We sat at one of the free benches outside next to the vineyards enjoying being in the fresh air with a slight breeze and ever-so-gentle drop of rain from the patchy clouds overhead. read more

We stopped in tonight at the request of some friends. They brought pizza to share for our dinner. We all had a flight of wine and I have to say that their wine vinting skills are talented. I liked all I had but one and my issue with the one was that it was too soft in flavor. All the others were great! The price is a bit high for wine made in this area but no complaints on the quality. read more

Great winery with hybrid wines that will blow you away. We tasted five wines and all were very good wines that are fine examples of the varietal. We had Frontenac, Marchel Foch, Chambourcin, Marquette, and Vidal Blanc ( the lone white) and all tastings are 1 or two ounce options. The winery was clean, comfortable, and inviting. We enjoyed our wine tasting on the patio with great music and corn hole. The tables were spaced apart, which made for a great experience for all patrons. All in all an amazing winery from wine to experience. I highly recommend the Red wines cheers. read more

Good wine, service, and atmosphere. However, they lack communication on posting their times they will be open. On July 4, 2023 we drove over to have some wine and they were closed at 3 pm. The note on the door said 4:30 they will be closed but online it said open now and until 6 pm. This is the second time this has happen to us when driving over to the winery to find out they are closed. read more

Nice surprise hidden "deep in the heart of the middle of no where!!" We originally planned a trip to a "bigger name/fancy pants" winery farther away, but then we both got lazy and decided to stay closer to home. After a bit of research, this was the closest place (there's one closer to Springfield, but we've been there before and wanted to try someplace new...) It was a beautiful Saturday evening, and a beautiful, back road trip to get here. There was a band playing from 6-9, but we weren't in a huge rush to get there, which was lucky, as we drove right by the place, twice!! Pay attention to the directions, whether from your GPS (which may or may not work around these parts!) or from the helpful picture on the website http://www.oldmason.com/, and you'll find it. Although it looks a bit like a barn or maybe an airplane hangar from the outside, there's plenty of cozy seating inside and outside "picnic style" as well. I was wishing we could sample a "flight" of some of their tempting choices, but they don't offer flights during "events," so we perused the menu and ordered a bottle of "Statesman," which was very good. They offer sausage, cheese (Ohio local, Amish-made spread), several tempting sounding breads (only on weekends) and crackers. Nothing fancy, perfect for a low-key, relaxing evening. This is a newer operation, with HUGE grounds (wonderful party potential!!), friendly service, and a great wine choices. Worth a visit...!! read more

Boy is this place fun. The owner Chuck is a real delight. Very personable. A flight of wine if very inexpensive. He's just getting started so his vines are young, and the wine tastes it, but go anyway. The hospitality of the owners makes up for it. They sell snacky stuff to go along with the wine (it's not really hors d'oeuvres, but it's still good with wine.) They also had an olive oil tasting while we were there. Not sure olives and Ohio go together, but it was something different. Support this guy. Give him business. He's on the right track, and we need to help him grow his business into something special. read more

Really nice venue. We were pleasantly surprised with live music and good crafted wines. I think they have 18 different wines they produce from Ohio grapes. They have limited appetizers, but allow food delivery or bring your own. Nice place for couples or groups. We will be back. read more

My wife stopped for a nooner at this out of the way Winery . It was a pleasant surprise. Only 6 years old and very nice indoor and outdoor space . We had good service that was friendly and attentive. We both got a flight of 5 - 1 oz pours for tasting. Wines were good. As sweet drinkers we really liked the statesman and the Niagara. Definitely worth the visit. read more

A tribute to a new winery...wines are much better than a winery of 1 year. Their Cabernet Franc, Niagara and Statesman wines are the best! Do yourself a favor and enjoy a 2 oz. flight of wines on the back deck and take several bottles home! read more

What a great place! It had a nice variety of wine from dry to sweet. The owners were very friendly. I had the 1 oz. flight with 5 different wines. They also had a nice selection of Amish cheese. We were seeking out local goodies to make a gift basket for out-of-town family and ended up getting hooked ourselves! The Statesman is beautiful, a good sweet sipping wine, and at $13ish a bottle it's not out of price range for the unwashed masses. So far that's all we've tried, but we love it and will return to sample the rest! Also, the staff is knowledgeable and very friendly, even when we were at our most frustrating. This place may be off the beaten path, but if you like wine and keeping it local, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the quality available right here in Miami County! read more

Two of us stopped here during a day of visiting wineries in the area. While the service was fine , we thought that all the wines in our tastings had an artificial flavor with a chemical aftertaste. Definitely not to our liking. read more
