My friend I really love the food! It was our first time there as we were traveling on a road trip. We had a very nice comfortable booth, and the mood was was quiet and friendly. The service was great. I felt like I was really even an authentic Mexican restaurant. My favorite thing to order when I go to any Mexican restaurant is a chicken chimichanga. This place did not disappoint me! Their sauce over the top of the chimichanga was the best or one of the best for sure that I've had. I really recommend this place to you. It's popular with the locals as well. my friend had the three tacos, one of each kind the Barbacoa, the chicken and the beef and said they were very good. Crusty shells had a lot of flavor. We also like the way they were served because they were served in individual. You know three stand-up metal containers. I'm sorry that I don't have any pictures of it. I was just so hungry. I'm a regular here for years. The food has always been good. I only do the lunch, it is usually not too busy, service is good,doesn't take but a few minutes and your food on table. Have tried the other two Mexican restaurants in Eufaula. Those 2 have a different style of food I don't like. I guess twenty years says it all ! read more

I enjoyed my experience at Old Mexico! I stopped in on a road trip for lunch right after opening and was one of the only people in the restaurant. The servers are so kind and the food is great! I had the Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla and it was phenomenal. The cheese melts in your mouth and is so flavorful. It's also pretty big and filling. I hope to visit this spot again! read more

Came here after traveling home from Florida. Google and Apple Maps both claimed they closed at 10pm. When we arrived at 9:03, they had closed. I have to say the Margarita was good and my Chimichanga was not bad and I would have really liked to have given this restaurant 5 stars but between the food taking over fifty minutes from when they took our order to when it arrived at our table, the fact that they never once checked on us during that 50 plus minutes to see if we wanted our drinks refilled or anything else and they actually charge $2.50 for refills on Chips and Salsa (Thinking maybe they have to charge that or they would go broke refilling everyone chips and salsa 5-6 times before their food comes out). I would say if you are not in a rush and you are good with your average Mexican restaurant fare you will probably be okay with this place. If you are looking for a quick meal, are entertaining guests/customers or wanting something a little fancier, you probably need to go somewhere else. read more

Absolutely loved the chicken nachos. Most restaurants have them and it's shredded chicken but they have grilled chicken pieces and the cheese sauce was amazing, can't wait to go back. The steak is very good too. We loved the quick service. Affordable. read more

Unfriendly waitress, long wait for the meals and the food was just horrible. Chips were stale. Queso was watery, even when cold you could barely get any on your chips. My taco salad with shrimp failed as a salad, and while the small amount of shrimp tasted it was cooked properly, they put it right on top of the thick layer of refried beans that lined the bottom of the tortilla bowl it came in. The food was a lot worse than Taco Bell. Vile stuff. read more

The food was just ok . We had a shrimp enchiladas. We ordered a large margarita and I asked how much ? The waitress said large was $6 .The specials were fruity and large was $6 advertised at cashiers counter.I wanted a plain one .The glass was full of ice and all mix . Might have had one shot of tequila in it. Long story short they charged us $16 for it . I guess I miss understood her broken English Will never go back and not recommend this establishment to anyone. I love Old Mexico and I actually think they have the best actual Mexican food in Eufaula. Sometimes their salsa is a little sweet or some thing I can't put my finger on it but the cheese dip is always good and they have the best quality meat. This place is usually Hoppin even though it's not located downtown. I regularly get pick up from this place and even though it's a pretty large restaurant it's usually always kind of busy. Everybody is always nice service wise and the food (except the aforementioned sometimes sweet salsa) is very reliable. They have an outside seating area and even during the pandemic their business seem to do pretty good so that should tell you how good the food is. read more

Expired meat and 3 cockroaches crawling across my table is what I got when eating here. After I complained about my meat tasting off it was discovered that by a health inspector two days later that their fridge housing the meat was not working and hadn't been working for nearly a month. None of the staff speaks English and cannot take your order you have to point to the items you want for them to understand what you want. While there I had 3 nicely sized roaches crawl across my table and when this was brought up to a server they shrugged their shoulders and walked away. read more

not sure what is going on with this rating but I will say I've had both "Mexican" spots in town and this one is by far the better of the two - the service was very nice and the food was very flavorful and very reasonably priced - my wife and I shared the #56 Plato old Mexico which includes a Chile relleno, burrito, enchilada, tostado, and taco for 12$ (all were great) - i also added a couple shrimp tacos that were out of this world and then we finished our meal with the strawberry cheesecake chimichanga because they were out of flan due to the lady that makes it wasn't here today... I will definitely return to experience more of the menu and update if anything changes read more

I am sure it was better back years ago when the place was new. The old girl is showing her age some and needs an interior make over. Tacos and burritos were excellent as was salad. Salsa was a zesty flavor packed treat. The menu says they charge extra for salsa and chip refills. They don't . Service was right on target and pleasant. read more

This place was ROUGH. The salsa is from a jar. The enchiladas tasted like they were sprinkled with sugar. The fajitas had very little flavor. The staff was hard to find almost the entire meal. Ordered a coffee, it was weak and tasteless. Ordered the E combination (Chile replenish, taco and enchilada) and it seems like it's pre-made but not heated up enough to melt the cheese or warm up the meat inside. Same with the H combination. Think Taco Bell would of been better read more

Gotta say this place was pretty tasty. Read some other reviews and felt that they weren't really fair. One guy complained and gave it one star but never even set foot in the place. Our group popped in for lunch. We were 16 people and service was great and timely. Food was really tasty! Kids menu was good and they have a decent selection. They do charge for chip/salsa refill which is strange but the chips and salsa were good. No complaints. I'd stop in here again. Happy and full! read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Seated quickly, but took a while for service. Food was great but the service overall ruined the experience. Took over an hour to get some taco's, and it wasn't because they were packed. No one ever came back to the table to offer drink refills. When ready to pay the bill, had to track someone down, through the cashier and another waiter to find out ticket. Not a great experience at all. read more

It's Mexican, not fancy or trendy, much like every other Mexican restaurant in appearance, but they have the best chips anywhere (in my humble opinion)...thin, crisp, and hot. I recommend the steak Tacos El Carbon. Delicious. The wait staff is friendly and great with kids. read more

Absolutley terrible. Unseasoned food, unenthusiastic wait staff. This place is a total downer.

I'll start with the positives. The place has a great atmosphere. That's it. The best way for me to describe the place is to give the full story of my experience, with as many facts and as few opinions as possible. We walk in, wait for 10 minutes, then somebody finally comes to the front to check out this old couple that had been waiting. They were never given a ticket, so the hostess had to go find it. After that, we were finally seated. We then waited 10 minutes to have our drink orders taken, 10 more minutes to receive our drinks, then 15 minutes for somebody to take our order. 30 minutes after ordering, somebody takes away our drinks to refill them and did not get them back. 10 minutes later, our food finally comes out, still no drink. After a couple minutes the lady finally brings out drinks back, but she is carrying them on a tray with another tables' drinks. The food was abysmal. I only ate half of it, and wouldn't have eaten that if I was not starving. Chile rellenos tasted like some kind of alien embryo or something. Beef burrito and enchilada were the only halfway edible things, but tasted like they were made in a lab. I will never be visiting this establishment again. read more

The food at Old Mexico is as good as it gets when you think mexican food. Just had the California burrito, and it was superb. It is steak strips,onion, bell pepper, on a flour tortilla with pico, guac, and sour cream and melted cheese. I could eat this at least 2 times a week. Try it and you will agree. Never been to a Mexican Restaurant that charges $1.75 for salsa/chips refills with meals. If the food was good maybe---service was good even though the owner came out and "bullied" servers in the presence of several tables of guests. Restaurant was comfortably full which encouraged us stop but on leaving, realized most of the cars were not local like us. It made my list of places I won't go back to. read more

Stopped here on the way back to Tennessee and the food was more Americanized Mexican food. The service was the worst. My sister had ordered steak tacos and found a bug cooked inside one of her tacos. We tried to ask for the manager and every server that we would try and ask would just look at us and say there's nothing they could do about it. They gave us a new plate of food but still charged us.
