Had a wonderful time at this movie theater! Beautiful inside! Reasonable price / they sell the usual popcorn and some light meals . Also beer wine liquor . Was fun seeing retro movie ( they apparently have weekly older movies we saw Raiders of the lost ark) and they have tribute band nights too which I'll be going to! This theatre while classic needs a serious cleaning and updating. The bathrooms are in poor condition and the concessions area takes you back to the late 1900s and not in a good way. With a facelift this theatre could be a beauty again. read more

wow there are some nasty reviews here, but some of them are complaining about other customers, which you really can't pin on the theater. I didn't know it was under new management, so I don't really have a benchmark for the way it used to be run, but I didn't notice a difference. Terrible new owners - Epic Theatres. It's the saddest excuse for a movie theatre ever. Wtf was the Villages thinking? They do not care about the infrastructure whatsoever. Older theater, know that going in. Couldn't beat the prices, however, the popcorn could have been better, it had a lot of kernels in it. But again I'd take that over having to hand over my paycheck at other movie theaters these days. This will be our go to movie theater from now on. Loved the throwback environment and atmosphere it offered as well. Reminded me of the theaters of my childhood. Do not sit in Auditorium 1! I went here to see Top Gun Maverick. Awesome movie that must be seen on the big screen, but not here. The sound in our theater on the right side was so staticky, that it didn't make this movie enjoyable. I told the manager after the movie let out, and he said no one else is complaining, and brushed me off. So just keep a warning and don't use this theater. read more

Went to a 1030a movie on 4/4... the concession woman and ticket taking woman were very pleasant and friendly. HOWEVER, the woman at the window was very "unfriendly"!! Walked up... said good morning (with a smile) no answer. Tried to pay with a $50 was told they didn't accept $50 or $100 bills. Ok, don't mind. Got my tickets - said thank you... again no answer. BEWARE when ordering from this concession stand at the movie theatre in The Villages. My receipt said $5 for a small popcorn and $4 for a small soda but the total on the receipt was $11. After my movie, I spoke to a male at the stand who had some idiotic answer about their new paper did not print the correct prices. I was so shocked at this stupid answer that I just left in a huff. He kept the receipt and now I wish I had asked to speak to a manager. I will never order from the concession stand again at this place. Remember to double check the total on the receipt and if enough people speak up, maybe they will be caught price gauging seniors in The Villages. read more

One theater for 130,000 people? They have a perfectly good theater in Brownwood sitting empty. How inconsiderate for those who live far down in The Villages. I would give a 0 rating if possible. I got charged $2 for the bag to put the popcorn in and .51 cents for the cup to put my soda in.... and the ladies bathroom was disgusting! So sad looking inside as well. It took a very long time for the tickets to print, which caused a line of unhappy people behind me. THIS PLACE SUCKS. never going back. the villages has ruined the movie experience by selling the theater. I bought my grandaughter a 50 dollar gift certificate in august for her birthday to use during the holidays. they don't honor them anymore so its worthless now 4 months later. besides that, the price of admission has almost doubled and your village id means nothing. the seats have been worn out for a couple of years now. the bathrooms are clean because nobody goes there anymore. The concessions cost double fromlast year and the kids pack use to be five dollars now they are ten and worse quality. save your money for somwhere better. read more

Head to toe, this theater is pretty awesome. From it's old timey decor to the comfy-as-heck seating it is an overall pleasant experience seeing a movie here. Prices for snacks are not horrible and residents of The Villages get in for $6.75 (with ID). The staff is friendly, but not overly so and on my most recent visit I felt rushed out of the theater. Yes, it was closing (WAY too early, btw) and Yes, I am the type of movie nerd that likes to watch the credits but if I paid to be there please don't stand there staring at me tapping your toe. Did not need a "restaurant" to fill the lobby. Leaving from the side door after seeing a film is NOT convenient and makes the box ofice a distance from the back lot parking.
