We stopped in after hours and setup the rv. Easy to find the spot. Plenty of room. It's very expensive for just power & water hookups, about $67 for the night. Went to check out & pay & it took the lady about 10 minutes to do the paperwork. read more

If you're looking for an affordable place to camp (everything from a minimal tent site to glamping), especially during a busy weekend like Labor Day when every other state park is full, this is your spot. They are NEVER full, because they have over 100 acres of open land available! Keep in mind that not all campsites are equal (some are closer to bathrooms than others, some have running water while others do not). None of the camping spots have electricity so plan accordingly (FYI unused RV sites have available120v outlets if you need to charge your phone for a bit). All the staff and other campers we encountered were friendly - most were there to do fishing & crabbing and just have a good time. We saw a few mega-groups of 20+ people occupying several adjacent spots that had impressive setup of including a bonfire, karaoke, full bar, etc that were all very welcoming to visitors. read more

Going to try the place one more time. We see the prices are still higher than real RV resorts that have many more amenities. The greed of the owners is cashing in on the benefits of the surrounding natural resources. Their new webpage is very nice; well played. Nevertheless, we'll give it a shot in a "back in" space and see how the campers have financed the upgrades, if any. read more

My only complaint is they do not answer the phone and sometimes do not call back. Otherwise courteous and helpful!

If you're hiking the Oregon Coast Trail, don't stay here like Bonnie Henderson recommends in her book. They got rid of their hiker/biker sites, and now each hiker has to pay for their own site. No more than 1 tent per site. The sites they provide are directly on the main roadway and next to the railroad tracks. There is constant traffic of RVs and diesel trucks next to your tent. Showers are nice however. read more

I'm going to start with this, I really love the staff and the customer service here, but the power thing is a big problem during the summer. We stayed during a unusually hot time of the summer and the power kept going out and they told us it was because they were over the top on the electricity. Look, I'm not trying to be mean here but if you have a place that has Rv's you need to be ready for anything, I haven't to been very many places that have a "power" problem. Yes, today's Rv's are high tech and most of them are 50 amp and yes during the summer we are going to run our AC.. that is the point. If we can't do that, then hello? What is the point?? We were sweating our asses off and wanted to turn our AC on, that is to be expected. If you can't handle it, then you shouldn't be taking in so many folks, or the place needs to be upgraded.This is not a norm for us and I was a little taken aback. I'm not going to totally diss the place because I really love the folks here, but I do think they need to upgrade. I wouldn't say not go here but if you depend on anything. power, etc then you are going to be in a serious disappointment if you go during a really hot time in the summer. Hot dang they are under new management and the new managers are AWESOME! Absolutely different place to stay now... the new manager came over and greeted me and said if I needed anything to let him know. Polar opposite from my experience with the previous manager. The bathrooms are super clean... the workers have all bee. friendly and clearly trying to make this a better place than it was. I felt welcomed when I walked into the lobby. Thank you to the new management. You guys rock and are exactly what this place needed. A+ 5 stars. read more

This is not a state park or a KOA but this place is still very nice. I had been here a LONG time ago when it still had a pool. Back then it was a little run down but they have done a wonderful job of bring it back to life. We were tent camping and choose a tent site vs dry camping. We had a nice site with trees, a table and a fire pit. The site was big enough for all of that our car and everything else we had. At night it was not super noisy it was actually pretty peaceful. The facility there are good. They are clean and all working! Overall its a good place with good prices. We will be back.. Keep up the good work! read more

We had a FHU 50 amp back-in site. It was not very level. Before arrival they sent us a text message saying we should go directly to our site, and check in once we were set up. The signage for sites is very poor, so we had to circle around to find our site. Maybe they don't want to take time to explain how to find your site, so they send the text message. As poor as the signage is, they need someone to escort you to your site. We saw many RVs circling to find their site while we were there. The site next to us was a pull-thru so our doors were opposite each other. Very little space between sites. If we sat outside, we were practically under the neighbors awning. The entry road and main roads are gravel and full of potholes. We understand this park is under new ownership and has raised the prices this year, but not made any improvements. Sites are gravel with dead grass and weeds. We were here a month and the weeds were getting very long without being trimmed. We did have a picnic table, but it was too nasty to sit at with pealing paint. The front section has many permanent, dilapidated trailers. They have rules, but seem to enforce them willy-nilly. On the weekends, the place was pretty full. Quiet time is supposed to be 10 pm, but there were young people making lots of noise at the playground until midnight. There is a scenic steam train ride available at the front of the park which runs several times a day with a very loud whistle. Rules regarding dogs on leash were also not enforced. They charge extra per night to park a boat or extra vehicle in the overflow parking lot, and also charge nightly for a fire ring. Enforcement of boat parking rules seemed random. There is a lot of potential for this to be a very nice park, but they need to improve their game a great deal. There is a nice little rocky beach area and the crabbing pier is nearby. Wi-Fi was decent during the week, but pretty useless on weekends. We would never stay here again!! read more

I would like to think one-star rating would bother these people but I doubt it will. This place is a cash cow and absolutely no money goes back into the place as far as upkeep. The customer brings the cash and whomever owns the place enjoys the returns. It is run down, no advertised internet, no cable, pot holes I. A dirt road with pot holes. A flood outside our door. It was sunny and 85 degrees. We told the front desk but they seemed very u concerned. When I asked bout cable she said it was there somewhere. Must be I. The next couple Tuesday because it is not in this tiny RV spot we are in. Too many people live here in very run down RV s. It is what it is and it ain't much. Pick another place. There are a couple of nice parks here in Garabaldi. Choose them over this run-down little cared for park. UPDATE: I will upgrade to three stars because the lady behind the counter when I went back was very helpful. Granted it was a big weekend but certain amenities should work. When I asked about cable at the front desk, she should have told me they didn't have any vs. it's there somewhere. It's only assigned to permanent dwellers who sign up for it with a company. They moved us to another spot and life was much better & the spot was bigger for our rig. We must have had the worst spot in the park. I would come back now knowing the park but would be very specific of staying out of loop 300. read more

We love Old Mill RV, we stay on the partial side 1 month in the summer and many weekends. They have done many improvements over the past 2 years including redoing the bathrooms, the sites, new dump station and general maintenance. It's convenient to the boat ramp and the office folks are super friendly. Thanks Old Mill, you make our summer more enjoyable. read more

We stopped in while taking a drive down the coast. They were having an RV show with lots of choices. Everything from a small van to a big bus. The 30 footers were nice and fit in most any RV park. Larger RV's are somewhat limited in where you can park. A lot of them are equipped with all the comforts of home including a bathroom, shower, frig, color TV, and AC. Quite the experience to walk through them and dream. The sales person said they will probably have an RV show here every year. I'm interested! read more

The host and staff was rude. The staffs didn't know what to do when we arrive for check in and the lady was going to over charge us. Until we told her this is not right. Overall the shower, restroom and laundry room was useful. Our kids don't like it there. read more

3 stars and this is why. I have a 38 foot fifth wheel that requires 50 amp service to run all 3 ACs. The old mill has that. One thing they also have is speed bumps which I get but can be quite annoying if you are in the back seat of a truck bouncing up and down violently. They have nice bathrooms but we rented a spot for 2 months (we weren't there for the whole time) and had to pay for our own WiFi router service while we were there ($200). the old mill guest WiFi sucks because everyone is on it constantly and their normal WiFi has a password. Don't tent camp. It sucks. There was a guy shouting while we were tent camping about a year ago in the middle of the night and asking where his wife was. Like other reviews have said there are people that will live in run down campers here just make sure your not next to them or your patio space will become their personal landfill these guys have so much trash. read more

What a dump quite honestly. Over charged for HALF a space when we clearly asked for a space to accommodate a 42" class a motorhome, pull through.. Laughed when we asked for a larger space. Shame on them for renting this out to be a spot. It's like being in a trailer park (not that there's nothing wrong with a trailer park). I'm just saying you don't go camping , social distance and enjoy a weekend while being literal 4 feet from your neighbors and their big ass boat to boot. Dusty and dirty. Makes me wish I had a tent... at least their spots are roomy and grassy with some trees. read more

I was staying with some friends for a few days here; for the cost it was not worth it. View : 7/10. Our spot had a decent partial view of the bay. Everything else, 1/10 at best. The wifi, which was the largest selling point for me was out for the duration of our trip. The lady in the main office said it was because of heavy traffic. I'm a network guy.. that's not how it works, the signal was not connected to a working modem, but boy was she insistent. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and had a working wifi network from my phone up in a few minutes.. But still, I paid extra for the wifi to come here and that's just more money from my data plan. The park rules were a bit draconian yet the place still looked trashy. There were many loose dogs, things left out in the street, gross bathrooms, huge potholes, just generally uninviting. read more

I was trying to make a reservation over the phone, the woman who answered was very unprofessional. In the middle of our conversation she dropped the phone without asking to put me on hold and you could hear laughing and yelling for what I assume was another employee (this lasted probably about 3 minutes). When she got back on the phone she couldn't control her laughter and wasn't really listening to anything I was saying. That was the first thing that irritated me. The second was when she asked if we had pets I said I have to two dogs. One is mutt but she clearly has some sort of Pitt-bull in her. The lady informed me that if she even looked remotely like a Pitt-Bull my dog would not be welcom and we would not be aloud to camp there with her. I find this completely ridiculous. My dogs are always on leashes when camping they have never hurt a fly. They also had many of different breeds that were not aloud that were ridiculous. It was basically if you don't have a lap dog then your dog is not welcome. I would rather spend my money somewhere else where my the staff isn't rude and my dogs are welcome. read more

We hit the Old Mill as lucky invitees to a large family reunion. The full hookup site we'd reserved was very nice. Not state park quality we've experienced at nearby Nehalem Bay State Park, but really very nice. The trailer spots were a bit tighter, and not the typical trees for privacy. But the view really made up for it. Contrary to the previous review, things are not completely out of control. Drunk drivers in the loops? Hardly. Didn't happen. Beer pong till 3am? Yep. That happened. Our sight was 4 spots from the "crime scene". It was so loud that we put the baby down after her bottle with no fuss at 11:00pm. It was very nice weather, and we enjoyed the fresh evening sea breeze through all of our open trailer windows. Again. 4 spots from ground zero. We heard a couple of hoots. A couple hollers. I want to add that did not participate in beer pong. Telephone around the campfire. Guilty. Smores? Lots were made. Pajama bowling? I saw it with my own eyes. Bathrooms. Not sure. We're self contained. Pot holes? Huge. Thank goodness I pull my trailer with a pickup truck. Bottom line for me? Nice place. Going back again soon. Trains. Cheese. Crabs. Fish. Garibaldi fresh seafood. Fishermen's Korner. One last note. Not ONE mosquito or fly! Probably just lucky. Or maybe they were just off bothering some other camper. Not a the place for Pet people, or short term campers. We stayed here on the 14th and 15th of June with our fur-babies, apparently this earned us a spot as far as possible from the facilities. Which wouldn't have been too bad except the Manager forgot to mention that we would need a special adapter to be able to use the electricity which we would need to pay $9.95 for. The fire pit was in the middle of the grass so couldn't be used. Which was all right because the wind was blowing too hard to have a fire anyway and I didn't particularly want to have a fire in the direct path for the other guests heading for the bar. If you have any sort of mobility issue I wouldn't recommend this park at all , there is no ramp to the office, the only washroom with a ramp doesn't have grab bars in any of the toilet stalls or showers, and the coded door lock is so low (so a wheelchair user can open it I guess) you have to bend double to see to enter the code. The other washroom has towel bars in one toilet stall and a shower that has the wall mounted shower head set lower for wheelchair users but you better have a shower bench with you because there isn't even a plastic lawn chair for you to use. The worse part is you have to walk past all the self-contained RV rigs that are long term guests to get to either washroom. The location is great next to the scenic coastal railroad in Garibaldi, across the main street from the maritime museum. read more

I want to like this place. The view of the bay is lovely and it's convenient. However. The bathrooms need a serious overhaul (paint?) and the roads are full of large potholes. Also, there is zero control/monitoring of campers. Their rules state that quiet hours are 10-8. Beer pong and screaming drunk people until 3 am? Sure, that's completely respectful of the rules. After talking to others today it seems like if you weren't at the party, you were pissed and up all night listening to the commotion. There's no one to regulate and control campers. They jump in their pickups drunk to drive the loops which is scary alone. I called the main number last night asking it to be addressed after my own attempts at 1 am to ask them to keep it down went unacknowledged. Not even a follow up call the today and now this group is at it again tonight. Now, I enjoy a party and getting rowdy but there's a limit and a level of respect that isn't happening and it should be resolved by the management here. Not fellow campers who have valuable property sitting here. This would never happen at any other camp/park. This place truly has potential. It's a shame they aren't taking the steps to have that happen. read more
