If you're looking for an affordable place to camp (everything from a minimal tent site to…read moreglamping), especially during a busy weekend like Labor Day when every other state park is full, this is your spot. They are NEVER full, because they have over 100 acres of open land available! Keep in mind that not all campsites are equal (some are closer to bathrooms than others, some have running water while others do not). None of the camping spots have electricity so plan accordingly (FYI unused RV sites have available120v outlets if you need to charge your phone for a bit). All the staff and other campers we encountered were friendly - most were there to do fishing & crabbing and just have a good time. We saw a few mega-groups of 20+ people occupying several adjacent spots that had impressive setup of including a bonfire, karaoke, full bar, etc that were all very welcoming to visitors.

What a joke, he seemed pretty disinterested in us, when we asked for the bathroom codes. We came in at 3:30 on Friday- no one in the office, I called and got no one the hours on the window said 9-4:30 the phone said 9-4, which is it?? Seems everyone bails early on Friday. The place is pretty much un manned over the weekend. I have never been to an RV place where there was NO one in the office. I usually at least see the person in the golf cart riding by to see if you need anything. Most camp hosts usually come by and check on you. Not here, pretty much crickets and that's all you'll hear. There is no grass here, only gravel, so if you pet likes grass rather than rocks, you will have to go outside of the park. On the plus side, they are very clean and it is close to everything. Just keep in mind you will hear the train and LOUD on train days 10,12 and 2. Pretty basic no frills kind of place.

Private beach to fish from on two great fishing holes, lots of fish caught!!! The new park is amazing!! The best part, Kellie, the manager, most kind, helpful, hospitable, and friendly. She works hard to make sure your visit is tops. The park is super clean, bathrooms r immaculate, spaces r awesome, and it's is super quiet. The location is perfect. Salmon fishing in the morning and 8 minutes away, Happy Camp at Netarts Bay for either shore or in the bay crabbing, caught so many of them we had to take a break! We stayed for 2 months and in all that time, Kellie made sure our stay was awesome, the maintenance of the park was always maintained, and it was always quiet and fun!!

They updated a few things, moved the office towards the front, and it just seems to be running really well (do I dare say better?). Everything else is great! We rented a boat and went crabbing. Only got 3 crabs this time, but it was still fun. It's just the idea of being out there that makes it so fun! We went on a rainy day so could not enjoy the view from our site since we had to stay inside the trailer. It's okay, it was still a great visit. I look forward to going again! Ha! Reasonable prices and sufficient service for the freshest crabs!!!!! Not a lot of shade and cover spaces so come prepared for the weather. I wouldn't recommend it during winter raining season. They have small campground onsite though it more to accommodate people renting or taking their own boat out to the bay for crabbing, not designed for leisure camping experience due to its location. It offers its own gift shop, and restroom. Limited condiments on tables. I came prepared with my own lemon/lime and knife.

Shorewood has friendly…read moreand available hosts (they help you back in if necessary, give you a map of the area and provide you with a key for the bathroom and a remote to enter at night). This park is extremely well maintained and best of all, it is a stone's throw to the beach. Also, wifi and cable tv, bathrooms are very clean. No laundry on site but there is a laundromat a few minutes away in town that we used. (While there, treat yourself to some ice cream and a ride on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad!) We had a super sweet, shaded spot (#53) that had its own fire pit, was private and blissfully quiet except for a bird or 2 singing. We started every morning and ended each day with a walk on the sand with our dog. The beach was never crowded due to private access! Not so little things like the trash being regularly emptied and the area kept remarkably tidy, as well as an always full dog bag dispenser was greatly appreciated!! We will absolutely return and are already planning when! Thank you for all the effort you put into making this a fantastic park to stay at!!
