This Old Navy has an excellent location, right on Harlem in downtown Oak Park, IL. This store has been around for years. I have gotten multiple items from this store. It has a great layout. The store lighting is inviting, and the store has a nice ambiance. It looked like the store had good quality products for more reasonable prices than other stores. I got some jeans here that I enjoyed as well as sandals. It was a challenge finding the material composition that I desired in jeans. Thank God in Yeshua's Name, I eventually found it. This is directly about the drawing room safety. Do not use the fitting rooms. Today, I went to use a dressing room when all of the rooms were empty, when someone immediately takes the room besides mine after I enter the fitting room. A little odd since all the 8 rooms were open that they would choose the one right next to mine. I simply changed fitting rooms to one across the hallway. Immediately after I closed the door, the man moved fitting rooms too, to the one directly next to mine again. I spoke loudly stating to my daughter, "we will not be removing our clothes, only looking at things in the mirror for size over our clothes", the man immediately left the fitting rooms after I said that and left the store. They are open ceiling fitting rooms and I just don't think that is secure. I told a staff member and he thanked me and told me he would tell management, but I don't really think there is anything the can do about this in general. Unsafe. The staff and services at the location are great and do everything they can do to provide a great experience. The man with longer dirty blonde hair is always very kind and helpful. read more

If I could I wouldn't even give one star. I've shopped at this store for over 10 years, but my most recent visit was unacceptable. From the moment I walked in, I was looked up and down and not greeted. Instead of being welcomed, I was followed throughout the entire store--from area to area--while staff pretended to fold clothes. It was very clear I was singled out, as no other customers were treated this way. The cashier was polite, as always, but the floor staff (who appeared to be the store and district managers) displayed behavior that was unprofessional and discriminatory. SMELLS LIKE JEAN SPIRIT A one-day-only special had select items priced at only 10 bucks! Late in the day on 12/16/18, Nichole C informed me of the limited time offer so we rushed over here to take advantage of the deal. I'd been to this Old Navy in Oak Park before so I knew what to expect in terms of selection, crowds, etc. Initially I misunderstood the fine print of the dealio and grabbed the first 3 pairs of jeans that I saw in my size. Turns out the $10 pants were specific to one shelf and not the ones I picked out, of course. I was bummed they don't carry the "classic" style of men's jeans anymore, just the flex-fit. Anyways, I still got a pair, even though they weren't the dark washed color I was hoping for. My girl picked up a cute scarf and some jeans for herself (each only $10). Checkout was speedy and issue free. Changing rooms were pretty dirty and a dust bunny kept trying to sneak its way onto my person. I still hate shopping for clothes, that hasn't changed. Despite my best efforts I can't wear the same pair o' pants every day, fortunately Old Navy had this sale going. I'll probably stop in again at some point. read more

Fine place to pick up basics in small to medium sizes, but no luck finding jeans in size 10 or above today. The clothes simply don't last very long either. So if I need something for a costume - like when I dressed as a rainbow princess and needed something in every color- then I'd shop here. But today I was trying to find jeans to fit my teenager and couldn't find their size, which is a pretty normal size. Went to Gap afterwards and found 5 styles of jeans, all with size 10 options. Also before/after you go into Old Navy, DON'T go to any shop other than the ones listed on this sign, or you will get towed!! I don't even risk parking in the Old Navy lot anymore. Just too risky. I think city retail workers need a therapy on finding their own happiness. The associates at this Old Navy location, by far, are the most friendly, helpful, and patient individuals I've ever seen. Although we didn't need assistance with selecting the right size of the khaki pants, I saw the sales associate, Floyd (yes, young man...that's you), went above and beyond helping a customer with a shirt that she was searching for. Not only did Floyd find the shirt, he found her the correct size and performed a price-check for her. He juggled multiple tasks, as a fitting-room attendant, as a greeter, and as a sales associate available to answer anyone's questions. Although the line was long proceeding to the registers, the cashiers were systematic and striking genuine conversations with customers as they were getting rung up. The cashier who assisted us was also a sweetheart! I inquired her about the number of reward certificate I could use in a single transaction, she quickly found out the answer with the right resource. By the way, if you're an Old Navy credit card holder like myself, you're able to earn one (1) reward certificate each month as long as you have accumulated enough points for it. The pants I purchased for hubby wasn't too expensive from the get-go; it was $19 plus tax. However, after using three (3) $5-reward certificates, the total came to $4 and some change! I'm a fan of Old Navy. Always find some basics that will fold into my wardrobe well. And dresses that are fun and inexpensive. All of that was true today. What they were not doing well at this location is protecting their customers and themselves. There was a group of 4-5 women and one small child in front of me. NONE of the women were wearing their masks properly. All had it situated under their noses and one had hers fully under her chin, no coverage at all. And she was sniffling! AND NONE OF THE STAFF SAID A WORD! They didn't even try. It felt very unsafe to be there and I didn't feel like the employees cared about keeping their customers safe from COVID. This location is within walking distance of where we live, so I'm really hoping they'll do better...I want to be able to go back without fear of contracting the virus! read more

I don't shop here often however Old Navy never fails me when I'm on the hunt for something specific that I'm not able to find elsewhere. I find that the sizes run big and long. So when picking out a pair of shorts or pants I always have to go done a size or two. The same goes with shirts too. I'm usually a small in shirts but at Old Navy I'm an xsmall. Regardless of any special weekend sales or special markdowns, Old Navy is very affordable! I love summers $1 $2 flip flop days! My only complaint and it's a big one are the changing rooms here: they are disgusting! Just filthy! When trying on clothing you def want to keep your socks on and step right back into your shoes ensuring your feet never touches the floor. I went in thinking I wouldn't find anything in my price range for a jacket for my son and I did. It's great quality and will keep him warm. I visited the location in Schaumburg the day before visiting this location. I believe I had a better experience in Schaumburg. The woman was bending over backwards for us to get a pair of sweatpants for my boyfriend. They were out of his size in Schaumburg and the woman called over to Oak Park and asked them to hold it because it was 8:30pm and we wouldn't make it there by 9 when they closed... Well they didn't! It was very frustrating going in there at 1 and they said the morning shift put the clothes away. They had ONE pair and luckily we were able to find it, but the crew was no help. Also while in the store, I complimented a female worker about her cute pink jacket and asked if she got it from Old Navy, she kept walking as she said "no" and that's all she said! This ON and I have been through a lot together (mostly store renovations, but also my friend's car being towed from the parking lot) and I'd have to say it's a good store. It's not really my usual clothing haunt (that would be Chameleon), but it's decent in a pinch. Although I've been to other ONs, I don't know if they've all been through the same changes. The layout is kind of strange. When you walk in, you're face to face with a wall of their mannequin family dressed in their trendiest clothes. I think it's mostly that huge wall that's strange because it blocks you from seeing the lay of the land (as it were) and planning your shopping trek. The shelves and racks are generally well-organized with the exception of the sale section. The sale section (by nature) is a mess. In the non-sale sections, sometimes the price on a sign differs from the price-tag on the item. For example, a table of sweaters had a sign above them that said $20 but the sweaters each said about $50. It took me a minute to find someone to help, but (once discovered) she was a doll! The check-out process was a lovely surprise. My recent items initially rang up to about $90. Then, after sales and discounts were applied, the price dropped to about $45! Their clothing selection is pretty standard, so my low rating here is due to the customer service. The lines in this place are always extremely long and move very slowly. Don't come here if you're in a rush. A lot of the staff is either new or incompetent, and when it comes to simple tasks like doing returns and exchanges, they often have to page another employee to come assist them because they don't know how to do it properly themselves. The cashiers will neglect to tell you about deals and coupons. I never run into this problem at other locations, only HERE. At other locations they will gladly tell you about promos, sales, and coupons or will give you an additional discount if you use your Old Navy card. They rarely, if ever, do that here. There's often no one in the dressing room to unlock the doors for you if you want to try on clothes. You have to go searching for someone. There's also rarely people on the floor if you have a question about an item. You have to go and ask a cashier. am perplexed by this store- often I find an article of clothing and there are 25 smalls and 25 mediums and no other sizes. I could speculate that the larges and XLs are already sold but this happens too often and just as often there are all XXLs and nothing else. I image the store putting in a request to their distribution center for 60 pairs of the shorts and someone just grabs the 30 smalls and 30 mediums and sends them off to the retail store and considers the task done and in reality it is done.. but how much more could they sell if they spent a moment to send a balanced distribution of sizes? read more

Yes, it's a chain. But there's something about Old Navy that beckons me in. It's called the lure of bargain shopping! I'm not ashamed to admit that I like to stock up on my basics here-- I'm talking socks, certain underwear (um, the cotton kind), long and lean tanks, camisoles, PJs, slippers and even jeans sometimes. My new favorite pair of skinny jeans is in fact from Old Navy! So there. I'm not embarrassed to admit I like everyday low prices. I went back this Christmas, and to my surprise Michael still works there. He remembered me - I mean how many short, talkative, crazy, black ladies does he run into? He was surprised that he still was working at Old Navy, but it is indeed a job and I hope helps him be responsible with his bills, (he is a young kid). Still the service was the same - helpful, professional, and pleasant - they are happy that you CHOOSE to shop with them. The higher ups understand that folks are looking for bargains and will hunt them out even in questionable areas, (it's about the deal and the biggest bang for the buck). I would like to start out by thanking the store for saving me so much money. Your cashiers are so slow and incompetent that I put all my items down and walked away without spending a dime. There was one cashier with a line waiting, had difficulties waiting on one person as she had asked two different people for assistance, yet no one opened another register. Every time I go to this store, the wait is absolutely insane to check out. Why I keep coming back for this punishment I have no idea. This store is horrible. Cashier lines are always pathetically long and their cash registers rip you off. Prices ring up without the posted discounts. You wait in line and then the cash register doesn't post the discounts. The line is so long, it's hard to ask them to slow up so they can check prices. Ahh, I worked here years ago (2007-2009 or so). Most old employees are long gone, and they've redone the store. The old GM is still there, though she didn't recognize me when I was in, and I didn't want to do the whole awkward, "Heeeyy, do you remember meee?" Customer service was pretty tippy-top (I was greeted several times and asked if I needed help), and the store was in good shape as far as order, stock, and recovery. Some of the racks were a little overstuffed, which made shopping a bit difficult. I can't say I'm a big fan of Old Navy clothes themselves, but there were some good deals when I was in. *le sigh. You know, sometimes when you are hungry, and you open the fridge and nothing's there? Then you open the cabinets and nothing's there? And then you open the fridge to see if anything materialized in the 30 seconds the fridge was closed? Then you go back to the cabinets to see if you can pull something together that might taste edible? And then you decide that maybe if you open the fridge and stand there long enough some sci-fi movie invention will come to life and make some awesome food appear in the fridge? Then you eat something that you really didn't want and now you are guilty about the calories you just consumed because it throws off your calorie count for the day (that might just be me though...)? And yes, these are seriously #firstworldproblems with a side of #globalnorthprivilege. And yeah...that's how I feel about this Old Navy. I go in. I look around. I don't find anything. I pick something up. I put it back. I look around again but the store is fairly small so there is not many places to hunt. So, I go back over there. Then over there. And I pick something up and get ready to purchase it. Then, I decide not to buy it because it's really not my size so I leave the line. Then I decide to buy it so I get back in the line that grew. And, I usually go home and wait a few days to return the item. In short, err, long, the Old Navy is clean, organized, and small. The people are nice, the selection is limited. I needed some more workout clothes, they were having a sale, and being the bargain shopper I am, decided to have a look-see. Let me be honest, I was surprised by their selection! They have some really cute (read: neon colors) in their tank tops that looked fabulous with their black yoga capri pants. After trying on several (because I wasn't sure what size I would be) I settled on a neon pink and black tank top and 2 pairs of black yoga capris. Their prices were reasonable to begin with, but with the sale, I got all this for a really great price! Now, I can go workout in style without breaking the bank. I went to this Oak Park location for the 1st time today. I give it 3 stars..parking and staff were great--but the size of the store/selection were not-so-great. Explained below. Parking: Free in their lot! Fills up quick though, with a 3hr limit. There's another lot right behind that is $1/hour & then free after 6pm. Yes! You read that correctly! CTA: I saw a stop less than 1/2 block from the store, can't remember the stop's name though. Awesome! Staff: they don't all look like skinny 19yr olds-which is great, because I enjoy a little diversity! Friendly, helpful. Size of the store: SMALL, or should I say, small. I just got a few steps into looking at the ladies section-and BAM~ I'm in the kids section-wth? I was disappointed. Also, there are no plus size (XXL, 16/18+). Sure I could order online-but it's so hard to know if things will fit-unless you try them on! I love it when people give a 1-2 star review of 'the clothes here are cheap.' Ha! Having time to kill today...a certain trouble maker advised that I go shopping. I stopped in with absolutely no intention to buy anything, and ended up with a shopping bag full. This is a great place to shop for kids clothing. The prices are phenomenal and the quality is quite good and lasts. I've been giving the clothes that my son has outgrown to my second cousin, and they still look brand new. For women's clothing, I am a bit more picky. I like things aren't trendy and will last after more than one wash. The few items that I have bought there, I've been pleasantly surprised by it's longevity. The cashier on duty today, was really outstanding. I wish that I had her name, she was working at 2:40pm on 9/3. They had some adorable ballerina flats that were out of stock and she looked into what stores had them available in my area and offered to ship them to my home. A+ for customer service! read more

Beyond livid. I purchased two shirts from here at the hype of Christmas season. I noticed once I got home that they forgot to remove the sensors, so naturally, I took it back to the store. They would not take the sensors off without a receipt. I calmly asked if there was a way to simply scan the item to see if it had been purchased. They replied with that they could not remove the sensors without a receipt. I am blown away that in this day and age there is no way to determine if an item has been purchased or not. This Old Navy is location is okay. The store is meh but the employees are helpful and prices are cheap.

I've been here three times and all three times there has been an insanely long line. One time the line wrapped all the way around the jewelry section and the three cashiers showed no sense of urgency to get through the line in a timely manner. The sections and dressing rooms are also messier than most. They need more help at this location. Two stars given only because one woman, Francine, helped me put my $200+ merchandise on hold so I could come back the following day to make my purchase. The line was shorter, but still took me 13 mins to get through, which I think is long. read more

I visited this location after finding out that they had a maternity section! I was incredibly excited, as I have always enjoyed shopping at Old Navy. When I arrived, I could not find this particular section ANYWHERE, so I had to ask for help. It turned out that the maternity section was located in the baby section and was about the size of a small closet. There were a few types of shirts, a few dresses and a few styles of maternity pants available. I am not going to lie...I was expecting more of a selection and this is probably due to the larger selection they have available online. However, my assumptions and expectations proved to be incorrect. I was able to find a few items that fit, although the selection they had provided items that were less than flattering for a young mother-to-be. Their prices weren't too shabby, but still higher than anticipated from the usual prices at Old Navy. Needless to say, I will not come back here to purchase things in this section down the road. After making my purchases, I went to Motherhood Maternity in the North Riverside Mall which was just about 15 minutes away and found a HUGE selection of clearance items that were so adorable and flattering. This Old Navy itself is very nice and had cute clothes and nice employees, but their maternity section is not worth much. read more
