Went to Ross the other day to find some home decor and they never fail me. This particular Ross was very clean. Everything was in order. They had a nice amount of staff. The line was pretty long, but they had two ladies working the registers. I did find a couple of pictures that I liked, but nothing that I actually ended up buying because I was looking for something particular. I had a very disappointing experience at this Ross location due to poor customer service from a cashier named JASMINE. When I went to her register after she called me up, her attitude was immediately rude and unwelcoming. During my purchase, one of my items was accidentally scanned twice, which I unfortunately didn't notice until I got home and checked my receipt. Another issue was the way the transaction was handled. While my payment was still processing, the cashier turned around and stopped assisting me. When the payment finished, instead of handing me my receipt like she did with the customers before me, she simply told me to grab it myself from the machine. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. I already tried resolving this with the store manager ABBY, but my concerns were dismissed, so I'm now reaching out for further assistance and hoping this issue is taken seriously. read more

I had an experience today at Ross dress for less in River Grove. I asked to use the woman's bathroom. I was told that there was no toilet paper. I said really? The woman told me that obviously they're very busy over the weekend and there were a lot of customers. I said to her it's 4:00 Monday afternoon. Wouldn't the manager want to run next door to Walgreens and grab some toilet paper for the customers? I was told the bathroom was originally for employees only. I'm like okay but it's for customers now and it's 4:00 and you're telling me that you've told everybody all day long there is no toilet paper. I know it sounds like a minor thing, but what about customer service. I asked where the manager was she said she was gone for the day. I asked if the manager Could go get toilet paper and she said we'll get a shipment someday. I was dumbfounded. I told her this certainly would happen at Nordstrom's or Macy's. She told me obviously Ross is no Nordstrom's or Macy's. I don't think she projected a professional image for Ross and as far as being a customer, I certainly was not respected in any stretch of imagination. I've been having some deep discussions with Mama J. about "parenting in 2015." To ease a child's non-stop crying, pestering, misbehaving, and badgering, throw him or her an i-pad and several teddy bear graham crackers. Well, when a mom wants to shop and the daddy isn't going to be available to take care of their loved one(s), Ross Dress for Less provides an excellent child care and absolutely free entertainment. What a wonderful idea! Everything sounds like a plan except "Ross" is not in charge of rendering Montessori education. "Ross" is short for "Ross Dress for Less," an discount store that has expanded their footprint significantly in the Chicagoland. I hate to see disastrous RDFL like this one in River Grove, located within the Thatcher Woods plaza on the southwest corner of Belmont and Plainfield. This one really lacks quality merchandise and has been victimized by naughty children who like to open every bottle of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Hey sweetie, where is your guardian? I was checking out the price for an ottoman for my future home. Wait a minute! Why is this ottoman's cover moving? Oh kiddo, you just freakin' scared Ms. Rosa. Please go reunited with your mommy. I thought this RDFL was relatively new, yet it didn't appear so. If I want to accomplish my way of "retail therapy," this particular RDFL location will most likely be skipped for certain. read more

So this location isnt that bad. I came right after they opened so of course not many people. I will say though there was product still on the floor like they didnt clean up before closing or opening. I get that its busy at times but it sucks to see stuff on the floor at almost every turn. Found a couple clothing items that are really cute though and found some cute holiday stuff. The cashier looked like she didnt care but I've had worse cashiers. Honestly would come back to this location cause I find better stuff here than the onevy my house. read more

I've gone twice, and they get the job done. I feel like these types of stores... you gotta know when their shipments come in (haha I don't!). But then you'd have first picks at the good stuff. I've scored some pretty cool wallets and purses, and got the majority of my Christmas shopping done here. They have some good quality standard brands like Guess, Bebe, and Betsey Johnson, but then they've also got some high end things like Michael Kors. I could see myself hitting up the place more for random gifts for kids. They had play-doh, nerf guns, shopkins, star wars things, and these were all for decent prices. In the home area, I found some cool fuzzy throw pillows. I found some plush robes for myself. I just felt like the clothes section was sketch and dirty and I wouldn't really do much shopping there. But otherwise, I do see myself coming back. It's like a more up-to-date marshall's, if you ask me. I'd probably come to this location more than others. read more

Not only is thus place a mess. This girl Kasia has got to bw the rudest person i ever met. The place is worse then cma ciw farm on feeding day. All of their jewelery are missing stones, no one cares. And Sonya is abour as bad as you can and no information about the merchandise. read more

The store is always a big mess. Hard to try on shoes with a security clip attached. Definitely must try on the stuff before you buy it . As for variety...not my taste. They show such nice things to offer on TV. read more

2 cashiers open, 18 people in line. Soooo slow, and no call for additional cashiers.This happens way to often. Frustrated,I left my cart full of merchandise. If they don't have staff ready to take my money, I'll keep it in my pocket! read more

Rude and inefficient staff, dirty store and no bathroom available. Long lines and mostly carry sizes XS-L when the average woman is XLP-XL. I don't recommend shopping here for designer clothes either because they only carry 1 rack?! Manager was made aware of lack and she was upset and argumentative. Never again! read more

This store just opened within the past 14 days, we decided to wait a few days to let the looks-loos have their peek. We decided to come in today because my wife needed a new purse and to be honest, it's a disappointment. Shelves are empty, wall racks are empty there doesn't seem to be enough merchandise for a store this size. I have been in many other Ross locations and they are always well stocked, maybe not always organized but rarely an empty shelf or rack. 1st impressions are important and this 1st impression was not impressive at all. read more

Oh no! Looks like a tornado went through the area! Fortunately, it only damaged the inside of this Ross. I mean, seriously, what happened here? First, the weird smell. Then there is the strange layout. Really skimpy and unattractive collection of clothes, barely a rack of low quality athletic wear. The home section is disorganized. Wanted to buy curtains and could not find 2 of the same thing. The bath rugs were covered in what seems to have smelled like warehouse dust, towels unfolded and all over the place. There was merchandise on the floor. Everything had a very unappealing presentation. And the place just felt dirty. Prices are cheaper than TJ Maxx and Marshalls, if you have the patience. read more

Ross has got to be the cheapest place to work. I have never seen more than two cashiers working in the store, and there are always at least 20 people in line. Just doesn't make any sense. HIRE PEOPLE. I'm so done here. read more

I've been to a few other Ross locations, but this one is terrible! When this location opened (which was just this past summer), I gave it a week (for the hoopla to die down) before checking out this store. Oh my Lord...clothes haphazardly strewn about, merchandise placed randomly throughout the store, open merchandise just sitting around...can't find a damn thing in this store because it looks like a mini tornado ripped through the inside - and JUST the inside! Now keep in mind, they'd been open ONLY a week at this point! I gave it a few months, then decided to return (to see if things had changed). Nope! Same poor, chaotic setup as before! Doesn't help that this store's [merchandise-wise] practically half-empty...it's like there's not enough merchandise to fill the large store space. Skip this Ross. Go to the Pointe Plaza Center (Touhy Ave.) & Golf Mill locations, both of which are an improvement! read more

Today, I was at store ,buying some stuff,and everything was ok until I come to register. Since I was paying cash (my choice),I was told they keep my change in coins, due to shortage in coins. I could not believe. This is USA, we have banks,right? And how many people did same as me? They keep change,ROSS will pretty soon make some serious money. Maybe It is change,but it is MY CHANGE. I really wanted to like this Ross.....but meh. The place looks like a flea market! The merchandise is thrown in every possible direction and as soon as I walk in I feel a slight sense of anxiety from all the chaos. Also the noise level of this store makes you feel like you're at a bar during happy hour. They do have some hidden gems but you have to hunt for them. read more

Went to this Ross with my older mother, and my older tia patty. People working the fitting room were disgustingly rude and had 0 type of customer service to older women and even myself! I walked towards the fitting room to see if they were still in there and this white older woman yelled at me! Instead hello, can you leave your items here. And I responded that she was rude and another one of her associate she was Hispanic called me rude...when I literally didn't do anything. Shitty ass Ross! Take your money somewhere else. read more

This place was a mess and needs more breathing space. I went to search for a plus size women's winter jacket. None of them fit. I couldn't put my arms in any of them even the largest sized items? To me this suggests that the items here must be irregular. I found 1 item I liked and the zipper was off the track. read more

The store just opened and although I found some great clothes, I'm very disappointed by the lack of stock on the floor and how slowly the line moved. The store was half empty when I went which is mind boggling since it JUST opened. It looks very depressing inside. There were eight registers and only four open although the line extends into the women's dresses section. Why?? Quite disappointing. I've been to very pleasant Rosses but I am not counting this one among them. read more
