It's located on the northbound side of the I-35 feeder at exit 254. There's plenty of parking and it sits right next to Amy's ice cream. The interior reminded me of those souvenir shops you'd find down by the coast where music is playing overhead and you're surrounded by bright colorful clothing from the floor to the ceiling. There's lots of men's, women's and children's activewear along with numerous accessories. You can also find some Austin souvenirs and T-shirts here as well. For those of y'all not 'from round these parts', Tyler's is like a PacSun meets J.C. Penny store (at least to me it is anyway). I generally shop for items for Thing Two at Tyler's as most of the apparel skews toward a specific age demographic which yah gurl aint in. However, it should be noted that this retailer originated in 1978 in Tyler, Texas, as a single store specializing in tennis and running gear. I can go to the Levis website and order the exact pair I want in my size and they will be on my doorstep in a day or two. So why bother coming to Kohl's anymore? Amazon Returns. A few days ago, I was here for an Amazon return and they handed me a coupon for 20% off my purchase at Kohl's. So I thought I'd use it. In a nutshell, that 20% off coupon Amazon gives you is bullshit. Allow me to explain... I went to the area where all of the men's sportswear clothing used to be to discover that there wasn't much to choose from. There was a lot of Champion gear, but their track pants felt like burlap. Seriously. Burlap. Nevertheless, I found a nice pair of Under Armor joggers. Good enough. I also found a Yellowstone board game (a gift for my parents - they love the TV show - shush, don't tell'em I got'em that until after this Christmas). My wife got some bras. So three totally unrelated items: pants, bras, and board game. While checking out, however, we were informed that we wouldn't be getting 20% off of anything because the coupon wouldn't work for the things we wanted. It says it all right there, in that tiny font wording on the coupon that no naked eye can read, the giant list of everything in the store that the 20% doesn't apply to. After I took the coupon home and put it under my microscope so I could read it, I would venture to say that the 20% off coupon does not work for 95% of the stuff for sale within Kohl's. After paying a lot more than we thought we would have to pay for our stuff, we were walking out when I noticed that there was a second larger location for the rest of the men's sportswear on the other side of the registers, hidden behind all their Christmas stuff. Silly me! Why didn't I just look behind the mound of Christmas swag back where the women's clothes used to be for my men's pants?! This store sucks. Unless there are some big changes, I doubt Kohl's will be around much longer. This place continues to go downhill, year after year. I seriously doubt that putting a Sephora in the middle of the store will save them. I remember when Blockbuster Video tried to save themselves by having a Radio Shack outlet that sold a small selection of cords, batteries, adapters, etc. in some of their stores. That did not work out for either of them in the end, and I predict history repeating itself in the end with Kohl's (Sephora may survive, though). Hopefully, by the time Kohl's goes under Amazon will have a drone service available to pick up my returns in my driveway.

I was looking around for a specific pair of boots and I asked Chad if he can assist. Chad was great and very quick in assisting and helping me out. I had inquired about the boots I was interested and he fully explained on how, why, and what. Great man. Then I had inquired on a hat and the specific size I needed. We had walked over the hat section and again, I asked questions and he answered without even stuttering. Awesome dood cuz he sure knows his ish, hehee! Selected my hat, grabbed my boots and made my way to the register. Torie was up front and she was very personable and great to speak to. She rung me up and left I did... with a big ass smile!! Walked in and was greeted immediately. Omar assisted me with with my purchase. He was very welcoming and very accommodating. He showed me where the womans boots were located. He asked me what kind of style i wanted and let me browse. So many selections. It was hard to choose from, i finally decided. Im a girl with big calfs. I was very amazed that they got the boots strectched to what was comfortable. Trying on boots are very intimidating for me because of the fit and the calfs being to large for the boot or removing the boot giving calf cramps. My friends and I were visiting from NY and settled in Austin Texas for a good warm weather and fun getaway. One of our friends was very adamant on getting an authentic cowboy hat and he got one. We went to so many stores before I informed my group to go to a dedicated store for variety and this place was exactly what we were looking for. My friend got a good white gray cowboy hat that was top quality and kept his head cool for the other sunny outdoor hobbies we were about to do. Also got myself a bright ladybug red cowgirl hat and it was a good suede quality. The price was right for the quality of the hat. The only thing we didn't do was purchase the boots to go with it but am happy to come back and support this establishment again if we want to complete our whole Wild West outfits.

He hates pleated pants and we just were hoping they had some nice things in stock. We walked in and were greeted, anything you are looking for, well not really, just wanted to browse what they had overall. It was my husband, myself, and 1 and 2 year old. Thankfully we had them in our double stroller - the Nuna Demi grow that seats both of them comfortably so that we can shop without worrying about them running around or grabbing things off shelves, etc. She asked me about 30 seconds later once we made it to the other side of the store (by the columbia side of windows) . No thank you. browsed their sock selection, which was slim pickings. and we decided maybe they had some on the opposite side of the racks we passed on our one lap in. again, the thick accented, glasses wearing young lady asked again, Is there anything you are looking for ? That was it, in 1.5 minute-2 minutes time she followed me around the store asking if we needed help looking for something. I said, you know that's it, I'm done. Even if I wanted to purchase something in this store I wouldn't specifically because of you. I'll be spending at the stores down the hall. And that's exactly what we did. Never. again. ever. I couldnt figure out why we were treated this way? Was it my $500 purse? was it my $1400 stroller? Was it my well-dressed family? was it because I had kids with me? I'll never know.
