In fact, we didn't eat anything that wasn't well seasoned, cooked to order and authentically British. Not an easy find, if you ask me. We sat at their bar, chatted with the bartender - who was really friendly and checked on us often. The place was packed, but we got in quickly and you'd never know they were popping. Whenever i'm missing Boston i pop in here for a homestyle meal and a pint. It's very reminiscent of pubs you find around Southie and honestly is a refreshing place to have in Colorado (where the food scene is very Latin, Asian & American). The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but that's not a bad thing. Lots of parking and outdoor space to wait for a table or pull up a chair. The service is a little stiff and slow but what can you expect from a pub style restaurant. It can get pretty busy inside especially around holidays so definitely make a reservation if you plan on having a big party or don't want to sit at the bar. As far as English/Irish food goes this the only serious contender in the area, i haven't found another UK restaurant that quite mimics the pub atmosphere as well as this one. Another birthday visit. This is becoming a tradition with our son. He loves the fish and chips. My husband and I brought him here to celebrate 25. We arrived around 7pm and were told there was about a 30 minute wait. That seemed really good for a crowded Friday. We were given a buzzer and directed to their waiting area. There are a few seats right inside by the hostess stand. If it had not been chilly, we would have opted to sit outside in the patio area. However, with the breeze and the chill, we headed for their additional waiting area which also has a restroom. It is just down the way from the main entrance. We sat on a couch and had pleasant conversation until we were called to be seated. Avery was our server and got us started with some beverages. The boys wanted the house ginger beer and I opted for a nitro pour of Guinness. My husband was up for a salad this evening and ordered the Cobb which had mixed greens, hard boiled egg, bacon crumbles, sharp cheddar, cherry tomatoes, carrots, cucumber and broccoli. He added chicken and chose Thousand Island as his dressing. Avery advised that two sides of dressing is a better amount for that salad and my husband appreciated the recommendation. My son got his fish and chips. He really likes the tartar sauce that comes with it. he enjoyed every bite. I decided to get the bangers and mash. It seemed like a cozy plate to enjoy. The Scottish style sausage and small tower of mash were topped with caramelized onion gravy. Delish! Avery kept our water bottle topped off and was very responsive to any questions. Our first weekend in Colorado after relocating and we were looking for a fun place to get a great meal and good pour. Looking through Yelp, The Burns Pub & Restaurant caught our attention. It was a busy Friday evening but we were fortunate to wait less then 10 minutes for a table. The interior was on the dark side like a proper pub but it was bustling with energy and fun. I had to order order the fish and chips while watching plate after plate of the dish head to other tables. My wife went with their signature Reuben Sandwich. Both dishes were awesome and it was one of the best fish and chip dishes I'd ever had! I thought the fish portion was huge but it wasn't greasy and I had no issues taking it down! We had started the meal with a nice Guinness and then choose an Irish whiskey flight from their extensive whiskey menu. The service was awesome even with a packed house, everything ordered came out quickly and we were checked on frequently. We need to return to try their other dishes for sure! read more

This might be the very best fish and chips I've ever had. And I don't say that lightly as I've had fish and chips all over the world, including thirty different places in the UK itself. The building is quaint and beautiful. You really do feel like you're in an English pub drinking Boddingtons and eating bangers and mash. The staff were all warm and pleasant and it's quite clear they really care about the food products they are putting out. I want to return when they are doing whiskey tastings and other such fun events. I might stay at the small attached INN next time I fly out of Rocky Mountain Regional Airport. read more

Honestly, been here four years and surprised we never saw this place - it randomly popped up on our car map when driving to the gym nearby so we decided to give it a go on a Saturday midday after hiking. This place is connected to the Hilltop Inn and has an inviting appeal. SERVICE: Walked into Burns Pub and immediately we were greeted by Alex who also became our server- he is full of fantastic energy! Sat outside bc it was a gorgeous sunny day. Alex checked in on us frequently and very personable. We'll keep him. DRINKS: Wife had a draft on tap that was delightful. I went with an old fashioned bc I am a bourbon girl at heart- given the extensive whisky and scotch selection I was SHOCKED when my drink came with standard ice cubes. While the simple syrup was also a little heavier than I prefer, the drink was still made well. But I got stuck on the ice - You can't offer such high quality whiskies that only get diluted by an ice machine! (Yes, I am a snob when it comes to bourbon); it's deception, and it's quite literally the only reason I knocked a star off this review. FOOD: Wife had the savory pie of the day which was southwest style with beef tenderloin and green Chile. While we joke that Colorado often "overdoes it with the green chile" this was a lovely harmony of flavors. Puff pastry to lop was perfect. I can only imagine their shepherds pie is also phenomenal. I had the short rib sandwich- my g*d. It was massive but I easily devoured the whole thing. Ratio meat to bread and flavor profile was all on point. Came with chips on the side fried to perfection. We even indulged with the decadent Guinness brownie (with vanilla ice cream and cocoa nibs on top)- WORTH IT! I'm seeing some mediocre reviews on here for their St Patty's Day special menu and I'm just so confused because none of this was my experience at all. Came at 7pm and it was BUSY. There were a bunch of people waiting outside in the courtyard and they said the wait would be around an hour. We were a little nervous it would be a long wait but it ended up being under an hour for our party of 4. Let me start by saying the drink service by Sidney was EXCELLENT. As soon as we walked up she was friendly and welcoming asking what we'd like to drink. We ordered a few Guinnesses and they came out within 5 minutes. Her demeanor alone set such a good tone to the evening. We waited in the back hotel waiting room which was cozy and had some games to play. Sidney came by again asking who needed refills. Once we were sat in the bar area, everything was awesome. We ordered the corned beef poutine to start, some whiskeys, bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, and fish and chips. Everything was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. Their fish and chips are some of our favorite things to order regularly. They had a limited menu for the holiday but packed full of Irish goodness. It was the busiest I've ever seen Burns, but they handled it super well. Buyer beware: If you're looking for Corned Beef and Cabbage for St Patty's Day, know that each plate is $32 per person( 2026). While I thought the meal itself was okay it def was not worth $32. Not to mention there is a 2% kitchen fee. Of course, if money is not an obstacle then have at it. I would just hate to see a family of four go in for St Patty's and get slapped with a bill for over $120 for four plates of corned beef and cabbage. I also had the French onion soup. I usually get French onion soup at British type puns and this one was middle of the road. It didn't seem to have a lot of flavor. Service: I will say the staff was probably the best part. By far, the most amazing Reuben sandwich I've ever had. The Signature Reuben sandwich is twelve day brined corned beef with sauerkraut and Russian dressing. Awesome flavor and tenderness, flavorful sauerkraut and tangy Russian dressing. The rye bread had a great toast to it. Amazing sandwich. Danni, our server, was on point and took our orders quickly. The Reuben was somewhat bland, which is bound to happen when using corned beef over pastrami. It's pretty pricey for what you get, as the portions for our orders were fairly undersized, and left us hungry. Our waitress disappeared shortly after bringing us our first round of drinks, so I hope you don't need anything else during your meal. This place was amazing. It is a scratch kitchen and it absolutely shows in everything we had. I found this place from the Denver Foodies Facebook page as a recommendation for best fish and chips. The recommendation was spot on as they use actual fresh Icelandic cod. In a city where most of the $20 fish and chips you order are just basic frozen cod this absolutely stood out to me. My girlfriend got the 12 day house brined reuben and it was delicious. One of the best I think I have ever had. To put this in perspective I have had many of the perceived best reubens in NYC and other major cities in the country and this one is just so flavorful. We also shared the clam chowder that had a ton of bacon and it hit the spot with the 3°F temperature outside. The odd stand out though was the side salad with the reuben. Their ranch was next level. I can't explain how perfect the salad was yet such a simple thing. Overall I can't say enough about this place. The service was fantastic and everyone was very professional and accommodating. I know their prices may appear high but the value is there. You can taste the quality and effort with every bite. Also they are not small portions by any means. We left stuffed and had half a sandwich and some fries left for a snacky snack later. We live in central just out of downtown Denver so this is a major trek for us and easily can say this will be a regular trip. read more

This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. If negative stars were an option, it still wouldn't be enough. We were initially seated right next to the kitchen--so close to the server station that we were nearly hit multiple times by staff rushing by. We asked to move because we didn't feel comfortable spending our meal dodging servers, and were relocated downstairs. Unfortunately, things didn't improve. Our waitress seemed unfamiliar with the menu and couldn't remember our order moments after we placed it. Our party of three had to repeat both drink and food orders multiple times. Even after confirming our wine selection three times, the wrong one was brought out. We also weren't told about several specials--we only learned about them when another server described them to a nearby table after we had already ordered. There was a general lack of professionalism throughout the restaurant. At one point, we watched a server drip salad dressing and toppings onto the floor while delivering food. We tried to overlook it, as we've all worked in restaurants before--but the issues kept piling up. We ordered the Scotch egg appetizer, which turned out to be a single egg with a small amount of salad underneath--priced at $14. Even more frustrating, we weren't given any silverware to eat it. After asking both our waitress and a food runner, we still didn't receive utensils, and the dish went cold before we could even try it. It took nearly 20 minutes after our entrées arrived for us to finally receive silverware and napkins. As for the food: the Scotch egg itself was good, but it would have been much better if we could have eaten it warm. However, it was not $14 worth. The fish and chips looked substantial at first glance, but once cut open, it was mostly breading with very little fish. The Caesar salad was inedible--the chicken was overcooked to the point of being rubbery, and the dressing was overwhelmingly bitter from excessive garlic, to the point of burning your tongue. The presentation was also odd, with a massive, unmanageable portion of iceberg lettuce that made it difficult to eat. The salmon entrée tasted good, but the portion was extremely small (around 3 oz) for $24. Overall, the pricing did not match the quality or portion sizes, and the service issues made the experience even worse. We left hungry, frustrated, and genuinely shocked by what we experienced. If you're looking for an English pub experience, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

I've lived just two miles from this place for two years and can't believe I only tried it now. I'm honestly sad I didn't go sooner. This is easily in my top 3 restaurants in Colorado. We tried burns pub for lunch yesterday. Service was good. Staff is friendly. I ordered the Reuben and hubby had the fish and chips. Fries were very good. My sandwich was not. They make their own corned beef and it was decent. But sliced quite thick so you get a huge amount in every bite. The sauerkraut was terrible and it ruined the sandwich. It was not sour at all. Hubby tasted it too and agreed. No flavor just crunch from the cabbage. He said his fish was just ok. Fries and fish were both dark so maybe the oil needed to be changed. Will not be back read more

We're at Burns once or twice a week. For approx. 2-1/2 years we have been regulars primarily due to the great service, excellent food, friendly atmosphere and great variety of beverages. We LOVE the staff-especially Josh, Jesse, Julia and Alex. We've recommended Burns to many and we've booked rooms for visiting friends and relatives who were all so grateful as they found everything as great as we said it would be. Other commercial businesses were recently built making it easier to get to and more one stop shop like gas, or other shopping down the hill. Offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Four of us visited The Burns for dinner. Two had burgers, one had shepherd's pie, and one had cottage pie. The burgers are OK. Though the restaurant grinds its own blend of meat, the burgers lacked beefy flavor. They were over-sauced, and the buns could not stand up to that much wetness. The shepherd's pie was wonderful--lots of great lamb flavor. The cottage pie was very good--made with the same ground beef as the burgers. The restaurant has an insanely large list of bourbons, and they pour a good pint of Guinness. Service was excellent. read more

This place has amazing food. And the service was great even though they were crazy busy during a sunday brunch hour. The crab cakes were on point. The remoulade sauce paired perfectly with the cakes. We also ordered the Corned Beef Poutine and it's like nothing we've ever had. The meat was tender and the Poutine was so tasty, we even ordered extra because of how good it was. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich with fries and it is the best Reuben I've ever had, literally. The portion of meat was huge and the 1000 island dressing was on point. My wife ordered the Sheapards Pie and loved it. We had enough leftovers for another meal. British food gets a bad reputation for being bland and lacking seasonings but not this place.
