Beautiful indoor bouldering gym in the middle of Sacramento…read more Parking: free with plenty of spaces in the complex. The facility is easy to find with large signs on the building and entrance. Restroom: generally clean, with 3 stalls per gender and locker rooms available. Soap was not refilled in one of the restrooms during my visit. I've climbed at many gyms before, but this location stood out because of a very strong odor upon entering. It was much stronger than the typical "climbing gym smell." The receptionist mentioned it was likely from climbing shoes. The gym may benefit from improved ventilation and deeper sanitization/drying of rental shoes. Plenty of activity areas: kids climbing section, routes with various difficulty levels, grip exercise area, weightlifting area, cardio area, one ping pong table, bar area, and open seating/storage spaces for belongings while climbing. The routes are color-coded by difficulty: green is the easiest, followed by blue, up to black for the hardest routes. Some gray holds appear to function as safety/additional assistance holds that can be used if needed. They also host college nights with student discounts. Members can bring one guest for free, and rental shoes are $5. Else adult day pass is $30. Overall, a good bouldering gym with lots of amenities and climbing options, though ventilation and shoe sanitation could be improved.

Lots of space and chairs. Our group had a nice location set up for the event and multiple staff members to help out the littles. This place also has a cafe and some beers on tap which is just another awesome addition. Bathrooms were clean and they also had locker rooms. Add to the equipment they had around and this is really great place for workout or exercising. One final thing is that they allow outside food, so for events you just pay for that and all the food and drinks are up to you. Quite an awesome place for a group team building event!

When I first walked in, I immediately noticed all of the natural light coming into the room. It really added to the outdoorsy ambiance. The employee at the front desk was super friendly and was quick to get me set up. As for equipment, grabbing shoes was easy (pulled them out of the storage cubes to the left of the front desk), and they provided a harness as well. I'm not sure if the staff normally does the walkthrough on tying a proper knot, since my friend and his friend did it for me. Nonetheless, I do like that they have that area separate from the main climbing area. Helps to take the pressure off a little bit if you're new. There seemed to be dozens of different climbing paths to choose from, with signs at the bottom indicating the level of difficulty. I found that particularly helpful since, as a newbie, everything looked hard. Also, the people I observed and interacted with on the floor were extremely friendly. Really great vibes coming from the community here. The pricing, based on information from my friend, seemed reasonable, since it included the gym and classes. However, I live in Elk Grove, so I probably will stick to visiting this place only now and then. Recommend giving it a try, though!

It…read morewas our first time ever rock climbing and coming to this place so we were a little confused on some areas. When we walked in she was nice but our waiver was filled out incorrectly, which was on us for not reading properly but her tone was nasty. She gave us attitude at first but we let it slip since we were wrong. However when we went back with our CORRECT waiver. She started being super rude to my friend who was stuttering a bit. The reason why he was stuttering was because as we gave her our name she kept giving us like looks like we were speaking another language or something. The final straw was when she loudly and rudely cut off my friend just to say " SORRY? I cant understand you." First of all I don't understand why staff cant be patient with new comers. Second my friend was speaking perfectly fine with some minor stuttering, if she cant even handle that the she shouldn't be working. Third, we are minors just trying to have fun so I don't understand why she was acting like the child. Also to clarify one more time, we are new to this so we don't understand some rock climbing terms, when we were asked about the payment and equipment we thought we could buy the whole bundle. As I was about to tell her we wanted the bundle she mentioned something we didn't understand so we asked her what that meant. Instead of explaining she repeated the word again but loudly, like that explains what it is. Instead of being a patient kind person she pushed her tasks to the sweet man who was KIND ENOUGH to explain everything to us, he was patient and understanding when I said sorry that we were confused. The rock climbing experience is fun, but the service was horrible coming from that lady with a bob cut at the front. Never coming here again and would not recommend to anyone tbh. I hope this reaches the boss or workers and I hope you guys become more patient with new customers.

I recently found out about this place from a friend's Instagram story when they went. So I made…read moresure to plan a hike here for when I had time. I was able to come here in the middle of the week around noon. The GPS made this place easy to find. There is plenty of parking here at pena adobe park and lagoon valley park. The hike is located at lagoon valley park, so don't mix those up. You do have to pay $5 for parking, and the machine kiosk was broken when I went, but you can still pay through the park mobile app, which is what I did. The hike is listed as moderate, but felt borderline difficult to me (maybe I'm just out of shape). There is a lot of up hill when you first start, and because there wasn't a lot of shade combined with me going on the hottest day of the week (low 80 degrees), it did make it feel more difficult. After I parked, I was a bit confused on where to go so had to ask someone finishing up their hike for the direction. I was instructed to go up the main trail past the gate for the main trail to the lighthouse at the top. There are lots of trails here, but the one to the top of the hill is the most popular, and probably the most difficult). Once you park in the lot by the lake/pond, you cross the road to the grassy side and follow that trail to the gate that keeps the cows inside. There is another easier hike/walk your can take around the lake/pond, which is mostly flat. The views on this hike are great. Despite it being a little warmer, the breeze helped a lot. I liked the views and made it to the top after about 1 and a half hours. In total, it took me about 2 hours to finish the hike. And that's with a 20 minute break halfway going uphill. Going downhill is a lot faster. I'll be back for one of the other trails and how to bring family and friends to join.

Nice walk on a dry day. Would be super muddy in the rain. Seems like a place that's only good during a particular weather/season. Parking is $5+. Lots of picnic tables, some bathrooms and a playground available. We'll probably be back if we find ourselves in the area.
