After several mini-shots, I was feeling giddy‼ The store is set up pretty nice and they have tee-shirts, etc. So, I really liked the banana but ended up picking the peach. I also got a small bottle of banana thankfully, seeing that after a half cup of Peach, it began to taste like medicine... We came here after hearing about it from a friend. I enjoyed the charming aesthetic of the distillery. You walk up to a bar area and a bad tender gives you gen half ounce shot glasses and a menu. You can pick 10 different moon shines and liquors to sample. Our bar tender was a sweetheart and a lot of fun! I didn't catch her name but she had long blonde hair and we had a great time chatting about the different alcohols. I recommend you try the mixes that's offer. Most of us will not be drinking straight moonshine. She mixed the pumpkin with a pumpkin egg nog and it was sooo tasty. She also paired the brambling blackberry moonshine with lemonade and it was refreshing. Some that you might not think to try but are delicious is the chocolate merriment which tastes like a thin mint. I highly recommend the bourbon that has been aged for 8 years. The gin is fantastic, especially in a gin and tonic! The vodka is pretty good too! The only reasons I gave four stars instead of five is because of the cashier. He was very rude to me and my friends and we all walked away very perturbed at the lack of customer service. He seemed like he would rather not be there and that we were inconveniencing him. Staff wasn't overly friendly, but they did answer any questions we had. We chose to just taste their bourbon and gin since we had already found a favorite moonshine distillery (Bootlegger's Distillery). The bourbon they are currently selling is purchased from Kentucky and not distilled on site. They are aging some right now though, so eventually they will be able to sell their own bourbon. You have to go here! The best moonshine tasting in the area. The bartendet's are so funny and personable they make it awesome. Lindsey is amazing in her cookie monster shoes.....and the spirts are amazingly delicious. The Vodka is smooth and easy to drink. The tequila is equally as delicious. Easy to find, very clean and sleek inside, everyone was super friendly! Glad we made this pit stop on our way to the cabin. I took home with me the Blackberry Bramble moonshine. During the tasting I got to try with a lemonade chaser. Great combination! While at the cabin I did half and half of the blackberry moonshine and Simply Lemonade. Delicious! Also bought some of the apple dumpling which I tried during the tasting as well. We unfortunately didn't get a full history or interesting facts during the tasting but the young lady was extremely personable so I won't take away for that. They had a little trouble checking us out when it came time so she threw in a couple freebies for our trouble which was unnecessary but very kind. This place is great. Amazing. Free samples. A true gem. The liquors great, the sauce is great. The people are awesome and treat ya right. Coming from NY this is a place I would come again and again. Bourbon, real moonshine, flavored moonshine, and the BBQ sauce and Steak sauce were out of this world. They had already sold out of moonshine pickles but the juice with the hot sauce. We have been on many distillery tours and had our fair share of samples. They have good products, nice accessories, but we had one problem with this location. They offer you samples and even different mixtures, even with items such as coffee creamers, which were very good, however, by the time you have the samples, do tourist things all day, get back to your cabin at night, it's hard to remember what all the different flavor combinations were and there were no recipe cards to grab to help you remember. I know there were things we sampled that we liked but we can't remember what was mixed together to make the 'cocktail'. Husband bought a hat there and it has become his fav hat purchase. read more

Not real Impressed with the lazy employees. The first time I was there I had a good experience with a nice young lady named Sarah but the last visit I had was different. the lady wasnt there anymore and the new staff stayed on their phones the whole time I was there and wasn't interested in helping me unless i was ready to check out. Thunder Road takes the legendary Tennessee moonshining history and packages it in a Disney-like setting, replete with an ultraclean, modern and sleek store/tasting center located in the middle of a sportsman's paradise retail center. But the authenticity comes out in the form of Dwight, the master distiller behind the spirits here, replete with the requisite Tennessee moonshiner's beard, farmer's suspender jeans and his first still from his teen years mounted for display. In terms of the spirits themselves, it's a mixed bag. You can taste up to ten of their offerings, fortunately of your own choice. Given I'm not a fan of flavored spirits, I stayed away from their moonshines and sampled the majority of their more traditional distillates. Their grain-based vodka was not too bad, bit would be best as a mixer as it lacked the smoothness of a high-quality sipping craft vodka. I moved on to their Dumplin Creek gin, which was the star of the show in my opinion - could sip this stuff straight over ice on a summer night. The whiskeys are immature, but I liked them all, the best of which was their 100 proof corn whiskey. They've not been around long enough to have their own bourbon though they have sourced one from a nearby distiller for their own purpose. Definitely worth a visit if you're within an hour's drive. read more

Great tasting room and super nice staff! Variety of flavored moonshines and whiskeys. The flavored shines have something for everyone. None we tried were bad but we loved the blackberry and apple dumpling. We also walked away with a bottle of the 8 yr old butcher's bourbon (surprisingly good and so smooth!). read more

The Moonshine flavors taste great! The mixes they do with them are amazing. They have two bars now. At the new bar... the premium whiskey, bourbons, and rums are available along with having different cocktail drinks. It's a great place to stop by and it's right before the Bass Pro and the Harley Davidson shop. read more
