A ways out for me but I'm glad this place exists since the bigger names out there (Dewberry, Blessington, Frobergs) all have their individual drawbacks and usually overpriced. Old Time Christmas is definitely more on the lesser known side as the crowds are very manageable. As the name implies, this place is a Christmas Tree farm so you'll see rows and rows of christmas trees lined up. We went for their pumpkin patches and they have piles and piles of them located around their farm. Enough for people to get their pics in. They also have a nice playground towards the back where you can let the kids roam free. Their extracurricular rides are $3 a person which is reasonable but they didn't let me get my $3 back when I had an extra unused ticket. Admin fee is $10 per person over 2 years old. I had a pretty good time at Old Time Christmas Tree Farm. Theres not a lot of people, its off the beaten path and prices are reasonable. If you're tired of the price abuse of bigger and more popular farms out there, Old Time Christmas Tree Farm is definitely the way to go. However they do have limited hours and the drive there is horrible. Just beware. read more

Beautiful farm. We stopped by Old Time Christmas Tree Farm's pumpkin patch during their final weekend of the year and enjoyed the experience. We left happy with pumpkins in tow. Their prices were great and the quality is near perfect. The space included a number of vendors and activities, including a BBQ stand and petting zoo. The pumpkin patch event was well-run, and the service was beyond friendly. I highly recommend visiting. Beyond the pumpkins, much of the property is lined with different varieties of Christmas trees for the upcoming season, including Pine, Cypress and Blue Spruce. We love coming here every year! Lots of photo ops and a bunch more for the kids to do. The lines for the hay ride and train ride seem long but goes by quick because of how many ppl can fit at once. The ppl working there are very friendly and welcoming. Just be careful going too late in the month. It'll be slim pickings for the pumpkins. Also for the photos - it'll look kinda empty. We went this past weekend (10/19/24) still very full, there was one year we went the last weekend in Oct and it was kinda bare. That's our own fault for going so late. What a great experience. Everything was well organized with different stations to help you get to your perfect tree. The first stop asked if we were cutting a tree or getting a precut tree. Once we told them we wanted to cut a tree we followed our way to station 1 to get our measuring stick and saw. We waited for the hay ride to pick us up and bring us to our destination. I loved how short the wait was and once we arrived we took our time to find the perfect tree. Once finished the tractor picked us up and took us back. Bought a Christmas tree here and definitely won't be going back. We were sold a diseased tree... these people are the experts. There is absolutely NO REASON they should have had the tree out in the first place. It completely died yesterday and the clean up was insane. Not to mention the bugs that showed up in the rott that came from the tree and died in our windows. hundreds of them... Overpriced during the pumpkin patch and still gave them a chance. This was it for me. Never again. Don't waste your time or money thinking it's for "the experience". Our tree from Lowes last year lasted over a month. Disappointed in their business practices... this was a $200 9 foot tree and now our kids don't have a tree until I can afford to dish out another $180 somewhere else since they don't offer refunds. A very family friendly fun environment more specifically referring to the Pumpkin Patch that is held here. I visited with my small children this month. The parking requires a short walk but it's well worth it and there's plenty of parking available. With pumpkins all around my little ones were free to roam and play and take pictures on any pumpkins they saw. They also had props with hay set up as backdrops for your own personal photo sessions. Very festive with fall and Halloween decorations. Lots of things to do from a friendly petting zoo to massive bounce houses everyone is sure to have a great time! Very affordable and fun. read more

First time coming here and didn't know what to expect. Pulled out cash, but was stopped at the front entrance to be asked what kind of tree were we looking for. I stated I actually just wanted to hang out by the trees and take photos if that was okay? They said, "SURE! No admission fee!" Wow! That's the best service yet! I was shocked at the negative reviews but after giving it some thought, it's all about expectations. So here's everything you need to know. Expect to spend 1-2 hours there. Bring a wagon or a stroller for the wee ones. This is not an adult friendly venue. Meaning, it's geared towards the wee ones and probably not for children over 10 years old. Our 12 year old has to tag along with us for little sisters benefit but we wouldn't take him there alone. The price of admission is $5 for ages 2 and up. This gets you in the door. We visited on Oct 14, 2018. Tickets for the 4 moon bounces, train, and hay ride, are 1 ticket each. Tickets run you $3 a piece or 10 for $27. The only activity over 1 ticket is the petting zoo which was 2 tickets ($6 per person). We rode the train ($12 for a family of 4). It's only a 10 minute ride but our toddler loves the train and looking at the Christmas trees. It's a peaceful ride. I would highly recommend taking the train in the heat because there's a cover. The hay ride tends to draw heat and has no shade. The wait is horrendous. The heat and flies make you ponder why you live in the Texas. The feeling passes when you board and see the smiles on your little ones. The bounce houses are 1 ticket for 3 minutes. It's not long enough. Our 2 year old screamed when she was bumped off. Many of the kids were crying. Eat before you visit. They had funnel cakes and another greasy food item yesterday. There are usually 1 or 2 food trucks and outrageously expensive snow cones. We spent $11 on 2 of the snow cones yesterday. Towards the bottom of the cup were dirt particles in the ice and it had a weird taste (not the freshest water). But the kids are happy and everything is now sticky so we're right on track. Take photos before the greasy food and snow cones. They have the venue set up for photo opps with the kiddos when you walk in. Aside from the hay ride, train, a few moon bounces, small petting zoo, and food, that's about it. You can pick out a pumpkin before you leave. We did it for several years before deciding it was more convenient to buy one at HEB than drag one to through the parking lot on a rickety wagon. The pumpkins aren't as fabulous towards the late afternoon. Kids have been climbing on them so you're left to look at 3rd string leftovers. For the past 10 years they've also sold a few things towards the front. They currently have the Halloween yard art for sale. Around Christmas time they have a lot more of the Christmas yard art. I give it 5 stars because this meets our expectations. I can't rate them based on their fine dining expertise or hold the venue liable for Mother Nature. This farm makes getting your Christmas tree such a fun experience! They have choose and cut pines and cypress, all lush and green, beautifully shaped in a variety of sizes. They provide the yardstick and saw as well as the hay ride to pick it out. Once you've cut it, you pull it back to the road and they'll shake it out really well and net it for you. They also provide rope to tie it to your car! Additionally they have pre cut Fraser firs, blue spruce and black hills spruce. They of course have wreaths and fresh garland and any supplies you need. While you're out there, kids can ride the train, jump in a bounce house or slide for a small fee and you can get concessions. The staff is very helpful and pressure free. This is a "cute" place to bring your young family, babies, or perhaps a large gathering but in our case it did not work out so well. I came here by myself with my kids and seems like this place has all of a sudden become an Instagram monumental place. We came just to do some of the fun activities they offer along with the pumpkin picking (and yes pictures too). It is a bit unsettling that you have to pay $7 to enter, $11 for a pumpkin, $2 for a canned drink, $2 for a bag of cookies, and EVERYTHING literally requires a ticket which are $3 a piece! To top it off and perhaps it was just a "bad day" that we came but seemed like every single employee there had a rotten day. Literally, everyone was rude and impatient and not just to my kids but other kids as well. There was a point my children left one of the attractions early since kids were jumping on each other. Pumpkin patches from my understanding consisted of a field filled with different sizes, shapes, and just a wide variety to pick from, but like I said maybe we went on the wrong day because there was only small areas of pumpkins. We definitely left with 2 pumpkins however if it wasn't picking from what little they had, it was from waiting for people to get their behinds off the pumpkins to have access to one. SMH. The most enjoyable part was both the petting zoo and the train ride although the poor animals were just so miserable and sad with anxiety of all the "petting" they had. As much as pumpkin picking was one of my favorite traditions when I was young, it is safe to say that moving forward we will simply just buy them from the grocery store. read more

Lovely location, but a bit pricey for what it's offered. Entrance fee is $7, which gives you access to the grounds and the photo ops they have. There are some picnic tables at the back and some swings. Parking was hard to find and it seems that It's always very crowded. Lines and lines for everything. If you want to do a hay ride, jumping balloons and petting the goats, that is an extra cost. Tickets are 1/$3 or they sell 10/$27. (I'm sure I read that right). Now, that's $34 for entry fee and only 10 tickets. You do the math. Pumpkins are sold per size, I believe the smallest orange pumpkin was $4.99 and goes up from there. There is no food allowed, but I didn't really ventured out to find out what food items they sold there. I did see some pies. Not really what I was expecting. The parking is a fiasco period no other way to explain it if the owners of The Old Christmas Tree Farm own the fields off Stuebner Airline they should utilize it for parking there was no hay in it not sure they owned it though plenty of people gave up and parked there likely hoping there cars wouldn't get stuck. Walking along the road with traffic going besides you was pretty dangerous to me. My other issue was we had about 7 people cut the lines in front of us for the train ride after waiting for the train to run two times we finally got out of line maybe 2 trains need to be running at busy times. No employees were dealing with the lines at the train or hay rides till u actually got on them. My only other complaint was the smallest pumpkins and little gourds we're past the registers near the exit if I hadn't seen them we wouldn't of gotten one. It needs to have more registers open considering as many people were there. But my daughter loved the 4 different area where the pumpkins were gathered and the other area, the petting zoo, the slides, and jumping pads and jump house and all the picture areas. Entry: Cost $5 to get in 2yr old and up Tickets: 3 for each ticket for attractions or value pack $27 for 10 tickets. This is a sad excuse for a pumpkin patch. When you think pumpkin patch you think rows and rows of pumpkins. That is not the case here. There were maybe 5-6 "bundles" of pumpkins. You pay $7 to enter and that gets you access to the bundles of pumpkins- that's it. If you want to ride the train or go to the petting zoo or anything else you have to purchase tickets. One ticket is $3 and the petting zoo was 2 tickets. This place is all about making good family memories. Is it a little pricey? Yes. Could you get the same pumpkin at HEB for cheaper? Yes. This place is close go my house and didn't require reservations, so I took my grandparents here a few weekends ago. We had a nice time on the hay ride, but everything else was a bit underwhelming. My 2 year old and I had a really nice time today at the pumpkin patch, I am not sure if I was supposed to pay for her or not, but I paid for her ticket and my own $10.00 total, I went and picked up a little pumpkin for her and a pie pumpkin and I paid for two tickets for the train, $4.00 total. When we went to sit on the train the guy that took our ticket asked me how old she was and he said 2 and under are free. The lady at the counter seen my daughter, I asked her about the tickets beforehand, and she said I had to pay for her. So the lady that was sitting with us, I gave her my other ticket and went to do my errands. All in all we had a really good time, I enjoyed the country life for a hour, and enjoyed the fresh air. Thoroughly disappointing!! Not only was it upteen million degrees outside (thanks universe) but there was very limited shade to combat the heat. It's Texas... these people should know Texas. It's a poor experience for a ridiculous amount of money. First off, it's $5 per person just to get it. Then you have to pay for EVERYTHING. There were supposed to be different size pumpkins but all three piles were the same. You have to PAY for tickets to do anything (hay ride, train ride, bounce houses, bounce slides, petting zoo). So... I paid $15 for 3 people just to walk on your property?! Then there were two food trucks/tents and NO SHADE to eat or wait in line so you're standing there in the atrocious 90 degree weather dripping sweat listening to everyone's whiny kids and your kid it drenching in sweat and all you want is something to drink but you end up in the slowest line on the planet for 20 minutes trying not to heat cat. Everyone around me was agitated, so I know it wasn't just us. You have to pay $2-4 dollars per activity. And the bounce houses only give your child 3 minutes on a timer to bouncer. $2=1 ticket =3 minutes or $4=2 tickets ="petting zoo." The pumpkins themselves are decent price. But the ladies checking you out literally eye ball your pumpkins and say "medium, large, extra large) without using an size chart, just looking through their little air conditioned window. For the most part, all the attendants were nice. But there were kids being little rude spawns on the slide and the attendants were just concerned about getting tickets - not monitoring children obviously going over the 3 slide limit and pushing other kids. We'll never go back. Much rather just go to a church and pay extra. At least my extra money goes to a good cause. read more

We've been going here for 6 years straight. This is our last visit. We waited 30 minutes to get picked up with a tractor with our tree from the back of the farm. We brought our 2 year old and 6 year old, we had to walk from the tree farm to the front carrying our tree and 2 year old. 7 tractors had passed us when we waited - the same drivers and yes they noticed us, yet still didn't stop. These folks lack compassion as we are clearly a young family just trying to have a good Christmas time outing. My 2 year old was screaming by the time we started walking. WTF. It's alright. My kids were entertained but there were hardly any pumpkins and it was a bit expensive. They allow dogs in, which is honestly annoying. There was dog shit everywhere.
