The prices aren't great, but they're also not terrible, although also not well marked so I was sort of rolling the dice but it worked out okay. The selection is very basic, but if you need a convenience store item, this will serve well. The staff is friendly and I find it reassuring to have a place like this around, well lit and safe and open pretty late on the main street. It has sodas and candy and snacks and some alcoholic beverages if one wants to byo. It's catty-corner from the park. They take cards over $5, which seems fair. They're open about as late as you'd expect in most cities.

During the first week of January, my lifelong friend visited Plush Appeal to purchase Mardi Gras decor for her out of state home. We are natives of New Orleans and were raised with the proper etiquette and respect for ourselves, others and community. We are proud graduates of an affluent Catholic high school and our class of women has made quite a positive impact in this world collectively. With that said, as my friend was shopping she interacted with one of the sales associates and had a lovely conversation. This particular sales associate then left the area. Within minutes two other sales associates approached my friend, accused her of stealing, and when my friend attempted to clear her name and prove her innocence, these women refused. They stated she was on camera and despite my friend asking multiple times for proof and to view the cameras, she was again refused her request. Apparently, two large men were then instructed to escort her out to which she stated she felt extremely uncomfortable. Several of her friends have reached out to the store. Ms. Vee was so nice! CeeCee though ... the manager... when I called to ask for clarification she became nasty and hung up. Long story short, nothing was stolen. If that were the case why not call the police or show the video? Most importantly to note are the differences in skin tones. My friend is an upper class African American female who was seemingly targeted for the color of her skin. Take your business elsewhere!

The convenience store is also typically stocked with drinks, etc. The reason I stopped at Keith's is to change out of a bathing suit and into street clothes. The bathroom is large and is designed for a single person. There is an actual lock on the door so you feel safe stripping down and changing without the fear that some random customer will enter and stare at your junk. It looks like there is a restaurant named Sisters attached to this station, but I didn't try it. If your in the Pass Christian/Long Beach area and need to change out of your swimsuit, this is the place to be.

Cruising around with a quart of frozen booze, we checked out the desolate island and after about 30 minutes we cruised back to the gas station on stilts. Shonuff, the Mrs. was there and running the kitchen. Poboys were the specialty and we went native. Crawfish was not in season, but they had fresh crab, and the GF ordered shrimp. This is a local joint however, so the shrimp was in a patty form. Lots of shrimp, but it was chopped up and formed into a crispy fritter. Both were delicious. We crushed those giant poboys, enjoyed a quiet evening camping on the beach, and woke up to the sound of shrimp boats heading out bright and early. Now, A poboy is just a big sandwich on a french roll. Simplicity is the key, but what makes a great poyboy is fresh ingredients. To this day, I have not had a poyboy like Richards makes. I dare say, it's worth a drive from New Orleans just to have one. Best Thanksgiving dinner yet, and it's been over 10 years.
