I can see why this is a highly rated smoothie bar! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it will surprise you once you step inside for the first time like me. On my visit, I decided to try a refreshing Açaí bowl. I ordered a small which honestly was a lot smaller than expected, but it was still packed with fresh ingredients and they didn't skimp on the peanut butter. Despite it being half the size of what I'm used to, it still managed to fill me up. It also has nearly 30 grams of protein and at the end of the day it definitely did its thing and satisfied me. Although, I will say the Açaí tasted different but that's probably due to the vanilla whey protein powder. Next time I will skip it, but that is just my preference. Otherwise it was a solid Açaí bowl. Overall, a great place to check out if you're cruising through old town Camarillo. Old Town smoothie is tucked down a side street. It's right across the street from Dizdar playground. I came here years ago and I wasn't a fan due to the drink tasting like chalky protein powder. I accidentally stumbled upon this spot walking downtown and I'm so happy I tried them because their drinks are delicious! Protein shakes, smoothies and juices, I love how big the menu is. Something for everyone type of a place. Also unique ingredients. I had to try the mango starfruit refresher because 1. I wanted something that sounded light and refreshing and 2. The ingredients sold me (how often do you see starfruit and passionfruit?!) My drink was a 5/5. Delicious, refreshing and a good size. I got here pretty early on Saturday, Feb. 18th, just as they were opening & no one else was there getting smoothies. It was nice! Very easy to find, just off of the Downtown Camarillo Main Street & parking was easy. It was clean, bright & very airy. I was greeted by the owner & her lovely kids that work there. I love that it's a family fun business. Her teenage son works the smoothie bar after school & aside from his athletics. The ordering process is easy. You make your choice of smoothie, pick a supplements & they make it right in front if you. Aside from owning the smoothie bar, they also own the gym. The smoothie bar was actually the latest addition. It makes it easy for those on the run, who just completed a work out, to grab something healthy, delicious & easy. I really appreciate that. I got a Piña Colada smoothie & asked for it to be vegan, and they easily accommodated my request. I asked for an energy boost supplement. It was delicious, thick & filling! This is my first time coming here. I asked the staff for a recommendation and got the giant smoothie with adding some fruit. It was so good I ended up finishing the drink! I'm not a big smoothie person because other bars would pack on the sugar, but I didn't feel that way this smoothly place. Also, the shop is so clean and they have a cozy seating area. What makes this smoothie spot unique is that they use purées and freeze dried fruits and vegetables, along with several supplement and high quality protein options. Driving through Old Town, I noticed a sign promotion for a new smoothie spot. I am always looking for tasty and healthy options for my toddlers and I. Got to get those veggies in! Lucky for me they were running a promo, if you buy one regular smoothie, it came with a child's size free! Super clean, friendly staff, and cute trendy decor. They seem to cater to gym goers, offering many protein based options (they are located in a gym so makes sense). They do not offer any juices, but there are several smoothie options. Overall, I enjoyed my smoothie. I went with the Green Giant a cleanse and detox smoothie and added glucosamine. I had never had a freeze dried/ purée based smoothie and it was a little different than a traditional smoothie. Not a bad different, but a little more liquidy and slightly tangy aftertaste. My personal favorite (although they are all super delicious) is the PB Cup Lite because it's chocolatey, super creamy, and peanut buttery. Sometimes, I even add espresso beans to the smoothie. When I want my smoothie to be a meal replacement, I select the Mt. Everest with delicious bananas, spinach, and peanut butter. It seriously keeps me full for hours! I have a dairy intolerance which means I can't have whey protein; but the baristas are very careful to use a vegan protein for my shakes. Their vegan protein is NOT chalky nor does it have a nasty taste. If you want a delicious and healthy smoothie, this place rocks. I typically get a 'skinny' smoothie, my favorites are either tropical shredder or the caffienator (when I'm feeling a little tired).
