I especially loved their front desk area--it's adorable with all the cute signs and photo op spots. Such a fun and welcoming touch! Everyone we interacted with was kind and professional. While an emergency came in during our visit and caused a bit of a wait, we totally understand that those things happen, and the exam room we were in was very comfortable. One thing I would have appreciated is a bit more transparency around the cost of the various add-on services they offered. They definitely presented everything in a helpful--not pushy--way, but knowing the prices up front would have made decision-making easier. That said, their prices overall seem very reasonable, and my husband and I feel good about making the switch to them!

Recently, I paid in advance for lab work for my dog. When I returned to drop off the sample, I was told that the order had "expired" and that I would need to pay again for the analysis. That didn't sit right with me--if I already paid for the test, the clinic should honor that and complete the service without charging me twice. Situations like this make it hard to trust that clients are being treated fairly or that their pets' care is being handled with consistency and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience has left a sour taste, and with my past experiences this year i think I'll be looking for a new veterinarian moving forward. I hope the clinic can improve its communication and billing practices so other pet owners don't run into the same frustration.

My first thought was to get him off of chicken so was feeding him lamb and rabbit (he didn't care for and it didn't help). The clinic docs we were taking him to for numerous visits over the span of many months tried several medications, including steroid medications and shots which brought on a bad respiratory infection and a severe eye infection. But we were told it was not food-related and referred to a feline dermatologist. Instead, we switched to Buttercup Veterinary Hospital and saw Dr. Jensen. She examined him, immediately said it was food-related, and prescribed a hydrolyzed protein food. It's been 3 weeks and he is doing amazingly well! His sores are healed up and his fur is back! She also found a heart irregularity and is addressing that also.

It seemed like there was always another test, treatment, or add-on being pushed, even for routine appointments. I understand recommendations are part of veterinary care, but the constant pressure made the experience uncomfortable and expensive. Overall, I wouldn't personally recommend Buttercup Veterinary Hospital based on my experience. We've raised German Shepherds for years, so we're very familiar with the breed and common skin and allergy issues. My son's GSD is currently visiting, and I stopped by Buttercup Veterinary Hospital simply trying to purchase more of the medicated shampoo they had previously recommended for itchy skin. I was denied because my own GSD, who was a patient there and was ultimately put down at their clinic, had passed away, so I was told I was no longer considered a current patient. Losing my dog was heartbreaking, and the interaction felt cold and unnecessarily transactional. Unfortunately, that experience reinforced my overall feeling that this clinic focuses more on upselling appointments and services. Find a vet who doesn't shut people out when their pet passes away.

He starts making these deep throaty growls that make him seem more like a "feral hog" than a pug. It's scary sometimes the sounds he makes. It took three trips to this venue to finally get him acclimated to the team. Dr. McJett and her team is so patient and supportive of our little maniac. She has recommended so many helpful tips to help us. Our Max had an ear infection and he would not put us treat him at home. After several attempts, Dr. McJett was able to pack it and allow the healing to begin. At least to a point where we could start home treatment. Other local vets were unsuccessful. I Love the fact that they will always give you a price estimate upfront, before they start the service. No surprises. No "Invoice Shock". Just honest upfront cost reports. The team here treats us like family...no better than family. Like employees. Offering a service that's tailored for you. So bring your fur buddies here and let "LHAH" attend to your needs. On their advice, I took her to Crystal Falls Emergency Animal Hospital in Leader where they took her in immediately and treated her. They contacted a specialist at Heart of Texas specialty and emergency Hospital in Round Rock where a Specialist conducted surgery. That was 3-15-26. She lives today 4-11-26 nearly a month later. I believe Liberty Hill has changed their policy to at least give OPTIONS to the pet owner. I'm sure that if needed them on a weekend, I would bring a pet there for some minor treatment. If not for Liberty Hills recommendation to take Brady Grace to Crystal Falls in Leader, I believe she would have crossed that rainbow bridge.

The staff were generally helpful and friendly during the first visit but my dog had a little anxiety the first time and was unable to stay calm enough to get his vaccines. So they prescribed some gabapentin and trazaodone to calm him down. They charged about $30 for the drugs, which is way overpriced but fair enough, I took up half an hour of their time. The next visit went fine - the vet really didn't say too much until we asked him so questions. We had to go back a third time to get the leptospirosis booster. Unfortunately, my dog's anxiety sprung up again and the staff could not get the vaccine in him. So they recommended the gabapentin/trazaodone again. I asked if I could get a prescription to fill it at a Petco or Petsmart. They said they could only fill it in house and it was $42 for three portions. As these pills were like 17 cents each online, I asked if I could a prescription to fill it outside. I was told that it was the vet's policy that they could only fill the pills inside. I ended up getting the booster elsewhere (without any need for drugs) and won't be back.

A Compassionate and Caring Experience During Our Toughest Day…read more I want to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team at New Hope Animal Hospital. Our longtime veterinarian had recently retired, so when our beloved fur baby suddenly became ill last week, we were unsure where to turn. From the very first call, New Hope welcomed us with open arms, even though it was our first time there. The staff -- from the kind lady at the front desk, to the compassionate assistants, and especially the doctor -- were absolutely incredible. They handled our sweet boy with such gentleness, love, and respect during one of the hardest moments any pet parent can face. Their empathy and professionalism helped make an incredibly painful situation a little more bearable. Thank you to everyone who cared for us and our fur baby on that difficult day. You truly went above and beyond for first-time clients. We will forever be grateful and will wholeheartedly recommend New Hope Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a caring and supportive veterinary team.

During our most recent visit, my dog was handled by Milani, and unfortunately my small, older Chihuahua came home with a bleeding, shaved paw after her nail trim. This has never happened before, and it was very upsetting to see. What concerned me even more was the lack of acknowledgment in the moment, there was no apology, only an offer of gauze to clean the bleeding. I trust this clinic overall and will continue coming here, but I would strongly prefer that my dog is not scheduled with this technician in the future. My hope is simply for more careful handling, especially with smaller, older dogs who need extra gentleness.
