It's located on Lookout Mountain, which has a ton of historic significance and we enjoyed learning more at the National Park. Rock City is across the street from the Inn and it was also interesting to stroll through. The Inn itself is quaint and cozy. The main building has a few guest rooms but most are in cottages dotted around the property. Ours was sweet and the bed comfy. Our only issue was the TV cable didn't work and wasn't repaired during our trip. The jetted tub also didn't have functioning hot water and it would've taken too long to fill using the shower, so it went unused. Both of these items would've been much welcomed following a very long travel day from the west coast. Overall very nice.

They offer free water, soda and ice all day. There were a few dining rooms and it seems a shame not to be seated there for breakfasts. But vouchers were provided for Rembrandts, which is about 150 yards away. We enjoyed sitting outdoors at Rembrandt's under the trellis (trying not to feed the finches that beg). Take a lovely little walk through alleyways, catch a glimpse of bakers doing pastry magic. Admire outdoor sculptures sprinkled throughout. Go towards the Bocce court and find more sculptures there as you admire the river view. Great location. Walk to Hunter Museum. Walk to the Walnut pedestrian bridge and watch the sunset. Nestled in a valley in the North Ga Mts.. This is out in the country and it's a working farm. No mints on your pillows or high tea here...just simple , cozy , and super sized accommodations. Our room is huge, sporting a King size bed and has a working fireplace! Next up "The animals".... Dogs, cats, goats , chickens,llamas, a horse , a few donkeys ,1 camel named Mel and a peacock that's the star if the menagerie. As I mentioned we love animals and this place has got them. We can walk straight up to the barn and pet and feed them carrots and apples. All good. I have no shame in saying that I'm an uptight, city slicking,asphalt loving diva but I do enjoy coming here for a few days , unplugging and getting away from all the traffic ,concrete and my comfort zone. The home was built with all the modern conveniences when indoor plumbing or electric were unheard of! It saw many different owners, including a doctor who turned the home into a hospital! It was even where the first hip surgery was ever done in the county. A must see!!!

We didn't get the room we paid for and when I said something, she said, that room was blocked off and I mentioned Marriott, her response was "We are not a Marriott, we just let you earn points". She did call around 10:00pm, while we were in bed, and said she could move us to a bigger room. We were already sleeping . The room we got was extremely dark, with old furniture and paint chipping. The bartender in the bar, said he cold make anything, then didn't have what I wanted. Gave me a substitute liquor, which was not even close and made me sick. The continental breakfast was scones, packets of oatmeal, some fruit and some dry cereal. Bad Coffee and 10 tea bags, none of which I would ever drink. They consider this an artsy boutique type of hotel, I felt like we were on "Skid Row". Marriott should cut ties!!!
