I LOVED the soulfood selections!! WHOLE Fried CATFISH!!! PIGFEET!!! Fresh collard greens not the canned greens!!

Yeah.. don't go there $20 gone down the drain. I went there on Sunday around 1:00 pm The quality is so low, Golden corral is better. The catfish is trash, the skin is still on there. The banana pudding was diabolical, such disrespect to good southern grub. The potato salad was plain as hell, just tasted like eggs and Mayo (no seasonings on most of the food) The carrot cake was dry, and cheesecake had no crust and the strawberry topping is artificial. If you're going for the seafood boil, the shrimp on that is so over cooked, and the muscles are too chewy. You're not going to enjoy it. I don't know how this place is still open. It was my first and last time there I've never spent such little time at a buffet, just go to the KFC down the street from it. You'll have a better southern food experience than this read more

Went with a group of friends Sunday afternoon. Place was fairly busy and food regularly replenished. Lots of items to choose from and too many to name including soul food. Unfortunately, I found most of the food unflavored (especially soul food) except the fry chicken, turkey, yams, and shrimp. The cakes were moist and good. This is taken into consideration it's a buffet but it was too many items that only looked good. Service was good as the waitress nicely brought drinks to the table. Plates were also regularly restocked. Try for yourself as you may have a different experience as this restaurant seems to stay busy. First off lets just say,this isn't a corporate ran buffet. I will say every thing I tried,I liked. The buffet was clean and well stocked. I especially enjoyed the collard greens. The fried green tomatoes were fantastic. Now there was a few things I found odd. There fried chicken only seemed to be legs,thighs and wings. Their chicken tenders seem to be some kind of dark meat. I found them to have kinda of a off taste. The jetk chickrn was spicy. The spicienest that felt like your were removing three layers of skin. However thats how its suppose to be. The pot roast seemed to be mostly bone. However of all the things I tried. I was satisfied enough to make me wanna return. The inside had a warm homey feel to it. Fresh, hot, and delicious tasty food. Ready for whatever you are looking for. They have it on the buffet. From neck bones, chicken livers to pig feet to country boil, not to mention they have the Asian foods covered as well as the Hispanic foods. So everyone in your party should be completely happy and satisfied with this choice if you need one place and everyone can't decide. Just stop on by and fill up with the good food they have, and then don't forget to try their desserts. They also have slushies and popcorn. The only problem I see when I go here is that they always have such good selections of shrimp, catfish, and salmon, not to mention tons of other good selections. I always stuff myself. We're going to start off by saying that this restaurant is very consistent with their food. I have been about 4 times now for lunch through the week. I pay $11.99 and get water. Everything on the buffet that I have tried has always been really good. One of my favorite items is the honey hot wings. The veggies always seem to be seasoned well not just dumped out of a can. They offer a huge salad bar as well as desserts. The service has always been really good too and it is a relaxing type of atmosphere. I seen that on Saturdays they have pig feet and turkey wings. I have visited this place twice and my server was MRS. MARIA( Hispanic) this lady was so polite, had a smile on her face when we arrived! this food is always hot, fresh and the 5 star chef( hes just this good on flavor, appearance, taste) keeps the buffet replenished. my go to is the seafood delight. ( craw fish, shrimp, mussels, crabs, corn on cob, tators. I put Spanish rice in the aujou sauce.This chef knows how to mix spices that make a nice, not too spicy blend for all cstrs to be able to taste each morsel of food. the ambiance here is great for the elderly, playas, kids, worker. Mrs. MARIA has great skills with dealing with many people at once. she's very attentive, keeps the used plates off my table, glasses filled too!! kudos MRS. MARIA. My husband and I stop in once in a blue moon. Food is okay, kind of just like the Golden Corral that use to be here. Staff is usually very attentive and inside still looks the same as before. Seems nice and clean. Price is a bit much for just a regular buffet, but would recommend trying at least once to see if you like! read more

Me and my wife went there last week and I started with a salad and found a baby roach in it so we will not be eating there anymore.

Stopped by to pick up food from someone and could overhear a group of people requesting refunds because of the roaches. I would say in that little time I saw the manager issue at least four refunds. These people had pictures of the roaches and one man who overheard them actually had a video. I was interested in trying this place one day but based off what I saw and heard...I'm ok. And I agree with one of the women who complained...why would I eat at a place full of roaches when I don't have roaches in my home‍ I heard this place is better than Golden Corral but I'll never know. Upon looking online I see that they failed two health inspections last year and they also observed live roaches. Y'all be safe out there! read more

I stopped by here after a long day at work, and I could've skipped it. Location and Parking Old Tyme is located on Tara Blvd, in what used to be a Golden Corral. Parking is free in a large lot. Venue and Atmosphere When you walk in you're greeted by a friendly pig statue. Proceed through the line to pay and get a beverage, then on to the buffet stations. The set up was clean and seating was plentiful, however the lighting was dark and the atmosphere could've been more inviting. Food and Beverages Most of the food lacked flavor and tasted like it was heated up straight from the can. The fried chicken wasn't crispy and the seafood was very salty. The salad bar was fresh and the peach cobbler was delicious, but that wasn't enough to salvage the rest of the menu. Service With the exception of beverage refill, everything is self serve. Verdict If you are craving peach cobbler, get some for takeout. Otherwise, this place is forgettable. read more

So the food was just decent to me. My husband and 4 year old nephew loved it. But hey they both have the taste buds of a 4 year old! The veggies did not appear to have any meat in it. Which is great to me. But that doesn't mean that the base they use is not pork. Anyway, I ate just about all the damn veggies! It all needed Lawry's, salt, pepper, a lil butter, and some smoked turkey. But hey. I didn't have to cook so I am not complaining. Just observing. Place was clean. Waitress was nice. Desserts looked a little dry. Tons of pork (chops, neck bones, ham, loud crunchy azz pork skins). I ate the fried chicken, and baked turkey wings. The Mac N Cheese was totally the opposite of creamy, the mashed potatoes, creamed corn, tough as hell well seasoned steak, and the black eyed peas were cold. Cabbages, okra (Had just come out), broccoli, vegetable medley, and Lima beans were all hot to warm. I think I saw fried fish opposite the baked Tilapia. This is a soul food buffet, and the food was tasty. This is real southern cooking at its best. I am a very picky eater however everything that I tried that is pictured was very tasty and good as well as fresh. The mac & cheese tasted home cooked. The vegetables were cooked with turkey meat and they offered smothered turkey wings. I had water with my meal, so I don't know what soft drinks they offer. read more

This was my first time here since they reopened under a different name. If I could give this place a zero I would. The food was cold and dried out. The bathroom was unkempt. The manager said what do I expect I came late. No you should not accept customers after a certain time if you are not going to keep the food replenished and fresh. I'm disgusted. read more

It's really a hit and miss, I always do take out my favorite is Okra and shrimp. I like it fried fresh why because I trusted the it just came out only to get expired old okra, The staff (behind the bar) is not so pleasant it's like I'm bothering them. Food is not great. It starts out pretty average but then sits out for hours on end and gets super dry. So you grab this plate of dried out food and start trying to eat it and then realize the waitress has not even brought your drink yet. The decor if you can call it that is recycled from all of the other stuff yourself into obesity buffets that went out of business before this one opened. I worked there they got rid of all of us that were black we were treated badly by the manager plim or plem we were replaced by Mexicans they kept I believe 2 black workers to make the place look like they had black employees. The cook earniest is very kind and can cook very well if he was in charge the place would be better .
