I went here for the first time today for lunch around 1:00. It was not crowded but had a steady flow of customers. It has a salad buffet bar, hot food buffet bar, and a dessert with fruit buffet bar. The buffet bars are not very large but you can use both sides of the hot food bar. The menu changes daily but some items are there everyday. I love vegetables and the cabbages, green beans, corn, lima beans and rutabagas (which I don't eat but my Mom said they were delicious) were so good. The fried chicken is definitely the star of the buffet. They keep making it fresh so it stays crispy and delicious. I made a salad as well from the salad bar and I really liked the options. The only dessert I tried was the banana pudding and it was tasty. My Mom tried the peach cobbler and said that it was really good. The server kept our drinks filled and was very kind. I wish that I lived closer because I would come here often but its almost an hour away. read more

The food is always fresh, service is always. I've had 2 young ladies that I just love to talk to when I'm there, Janet & Josie ( I think that's her name, her daughter's name is Hope). Those ladies are so polite and friendly. Their customer service is the best I've had in a while. My husband and I have been eating her twice a week since we discovered this place and before that we were just eating at home because we don't trust who prepares our food, we meet two of the cooks yesterday and they were just as polite. I wish I had gotten their names. We always do carry outs so we can enjoy our food at home, I always get enough to last me two days. Love this place and please keep up the good work. read more

This location doesn't taste as good as the Fayetteville Tim's. They must have a different owner. The fried chicken was tasteless like everything else. Sure it was crispy but that's all. I've been here before but this is the first time I really got a chance to expose my experience on Yelp. This is traditional Southern, cafeteria food that is really quite good. It is very popular with locals in Griffin, especially on Sundays after church, and I stopped in here this past Sunday and got a plate to-go. The stewed beef was really good as was the cornbread dressing. The greens were appropriately cooked and the macaroni, though not baked in that traditional fashion, was very good as well. The peach cobbler was a great way to end a Sunday afternoon lunch and I really enjoyed it. I'm not certain if they change up their menu often but, based on my experience, everything looks the same just about every time I've been to Tim's. All I can say is, "Wow"! Heard about the place on the radio and a lot of other local places left me looking for better. Tim's delivers on everything I wanted in a buffet style country kitchen. I love Popeyes chicken, got hooked on Publix chicken when I moved down here from the north, but Tim's has them all beat hands down! That chicken is just plain good! For this review, I am considering this to be: "Tim's All-You-Can-Eat Fried Chicken" That's how I can give it four stars. Just for chicken. The batter makes nice, thick crinkles of crispy coatinglets. While the flavor doesn't have a distinct savoriness, there's more than just salt and pepper going on. The kitchen does a great job of keeping the tray heaped full of freshly-fried, crunchy chicken with a full mix of breast, thigh, wing and drumstick. During a suppertime rush, the bin stayed full and hot, despite the steady traffic picking at it left and right. Are you going to buy a jar of "Tim's Chicken Rub" to take home? Can you taste an overnight marination in buttermilk and black pepper? Nope. But really, it's $9.91 for a buffet of fried chicken that's well-fried and fresh, with better ingredients than most national chains. Also, unlimited Coke. I had a dozen pieces of fried chicken and a dozen buffalo wings, and considered anything else a free extra. Everything else needed some serious work, even for buffet food. Desserts were deeply disappointing. Like how "Aunt Betty says she can't tell the difference between generic brands, so she drives across town to the salvage grocery." A Fudge-topped Vanilla Custard - which would have been an acceptable Cool-Whip-pudding otherwise, is ruined by a layer of "fudge." The fudge has a cocoa powder so cheap it tastes like aluminum foil. Canned-peach Crumble - at a "Country Cookin'" place in Georgia, should really beat out Chinese buffets in Seattle. I hope they give a few recipes some attention, but the restaurant's atmosphere is flawless. Tim's Country Cookin' stays comfortable even while you wait in line for other people to grab a piece of chicken. That's really saying something - when a buffet that's packed to the gills with a hungry crowd, stays comfy. Tasty tasty tasty-so the wings were good not hard and dry, the salad bar and fruit were good and this small quaint clean little spot turned out to be worth the 10 dollar price. The deserts are limlited but the cobbler and chocolate mouse cake are pretty good (wish there was some icecream though). But unless I'm missing something it's about the only place around that has home cooking. So overall good outweighs the bad. The place always seems clean. Of course, prices are subject to change but you have a salad bar, a dessert bar a hot bar with selections like fried chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas, Italian green beans (flat), mac and cheese, fried chicken livers, broiled or basted fish.and peach cobbler. The locals love it but I'm not a fan. This buffet stays pack. The food is okay. Definitely true to the name southern cooking. The selection is small. A very basic salad (iceberg salad mix the day I went) and basic toppings too (cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers). They serve maybe two or three meats a day. The day i went they had chicken, meatloaf, Lima beans, pinto beans and mashed potatoes. I heard they also serve fried pork chops. The menu does change daily. I think the lack of variety at the price they sell it at ($10 everything included as well as the drink and $4.99 a lb to go), is more of a turn off for me than the actual taste of the food. They food is actually okay, nothing exciting. Something to eat if you want a home cooked meal that don't taste like canned food and you don't feel like cooking. The buffet area is small and sometimes they don't refill the items fast enough but the food is good, especially the fried chicken, great taste! The wait staff clears your table of plates quickly for your return for seconds (if you will ). The location is also great although I am not that familiar with the territory in Griffin. Visiting from out of town and a coworker told me about this place. It is rather small with limited seating. The price of $10 is fair for a buffet. The food was okay. I wish I was a fan of fried chicken because other reviews would suggest that was amazing. The service was great.
