I've been going here to get tattooed since they opened and I have never been disappointed and have always left more than pleased by not only the quality of work, the diversity of talent displayed by the artists but mostly their dedication to their craft and appreciation and respect for not only their customers but their fellow tattoo artists in the local area. When it comes to professionalism, everyone seems to have a different opinion on what professionalism is. I think that you have to measure professionalism by the profession you relate it to. You will not get the professionalism here that you get at a doctor's office, a retail store or even a fine dining restaurant or the most upscale salon. Their professionalism is that they are a team extremely dedicated and experienced in their field and everyone I have referred to Old Tyme has been more than impressed by their level of talent. In addition the running jokes around the shop keep you entertained and ease the tension and pain of the tattoo itself. You will get the best work whether you want the more new school style, or the old school style, vibrant colors, custom work but most importantly you will have a great time when you are there, you will laugh, you will be entertained as you bond with not only the artists but other clients getting tattooed. Never will you experience a team of tattoo artists speak with such conviction on art, politics, economics, literature, movies, books, politics, childcare and morals in a casual manner most journalists and media sources would envy, haha. I have many impressive tattoos, some even have won major awards at tattoo conventions and have been displayed in tattoo magazines distributed nationwide. To say I know a great tattoo artist when I see one is an under statement. I would feel safe and would consider myself extremely fortunate to sit in the chair of not only my artist John, but in Weylin's chair or Frank's chair as well. I have had my hair cut by their barber Tony on several occasions and I have never been disappointed. I cannot promise you that they are above bad habits. I cannot promise you that the material being discussed will be "PG" rated. I can promise you that you will get a GREAT tattoo and you will have a great time, a great laugh and a GREAT experience. ALWAYS follow your artist's advice when it comes to taking care of your tattoo. Many people neglect the advice of the artist and as a result do not heal properly. If you experience any unusual scabbing or are ever displeased by the quality of work it is YOUR responsibility to let them know so that they can help you. A person cannot fix what they do not know is broken and often times it is not the artists that is at fault for faded color or excessive scabbing but more so the clients unwillingness to follow the instructions of the artist for the best results;) I have the utmost respect for each and every artist there and I have been in other tattoo studios in the area and not one of them have ever said anything bad or negative about these guys. I have had the privaledge of getting tattooed by three of the guys that work in this shop. Frank, weylin, and John. John did a phonograph on my knee cap that is absolutely beautiful. He was so focused and detail oriented and it turned out amazing. He was also very concerned about how I was feeling the whole time. Frank did my daughters name on the inside of my wrist that it absolutely one of my favorite tattoos. He was very calm and light handed. And weylin has been working with me to correct a half sleeve previously messed up by another artist in town. He also pays close attention to detail and has great bedside manner. I also have a lot of friends who go in to get hair cuts from the shops incredibly handsome barber. He is amazing at what he does. I don't know much about hair but I would dare to say that he is probably one of the best barbers I'm town. I have never met a man who left his chair unsatisfied and he is definitely nice to look at while getting tattooed. The shop is also very very clean and well organized. You can tell that the owners and the tattooers alike care a great deal about the business they run and work for. I don't know an awful lot about tattoos, but I do have quite a few and I would definitely tell anyone thinking of getting tattooed in the Augusta area to go no other place but olde tyme. The artists are amazing with great bedside manner, the shop is very clean, and the barber is very handsome and talented. If you need proof just stop by and take in the scenery and take a look at their amazing portfolios. To go anywhere else in this town would be a waste of money and a terrible idea for your skin and hair. read more

So what can i say about old tyme? well lets start off with the artists... John Casey is an awesome red neck tattoo artist who is an awesome hunter who can carry on a good conversation about tracking and hunting as well as tattooing. Weylin is an beautiful brooding artist who loves dogs and his "boys." Frank is quiet one with the infinite wisdom of a modern day Gandalf. Then there is Tony Powledge! if you want your "head" to look smooth and clean go get it shaved and cut by this man! In all seriousness this shop is amazing and being from California and very picky about who i will let tattoo me and this shop exceeds my expectations. I'm in LOVE with this place! I have 5 tattoos from these amazing tattoo artists! I'm a model and so I have to make sure my pictures turn out perfect and I couldn't think of any other place i'd rather go to..FACT! I've even taken my parents and my sister to get tattooed there, they loved the turn out! Thank you, John for your beautiful work! (: You guys are great! I have gotten all of my tattoos by Weylin and if he should get run down by a bus of angry fem-bots, I would get them from the other artists in that parlor! They have a great group of artists that have been doing it long time combined. I travel an hour and a half just to get work done! I have even gotten my hair cut when there and it was always super hard to explain how I wanted it and Tony nails it! As far as topics that come up in a barber shop and tattoo parlor, it's right on par with making a guy feel comfortable. As far as fru-fru boozgie political correctness, there is a dance studio next door that caters to that kinda clientele. read more

I'm a few hours into a half sleeve (today being my second visit with my third next week). I'm impressed by the quality of artwork and the skill of the artist (in my case, Weylin). The atmosphere is great as well - good music playing and entertaining conversation. It's obvious these guys love what they do (and they're good at it). I'm considering more tattoos just so I can hang out there (or maybe a haircut will do). The experience exceeds what I expected from a tattoo shop, but that's what sets Olde Tyme apart. read more

I am only giving this a poor-fair review because there is not a worse option...I got a tattoo from this place, I ended up stopping the "artist" before he completed the "tattoo" it is so horrible and SOO not what I wanted that I am now in the proccess of having it removed. If you want a flash art tattoo that requires little to now artistic skill then this is your place! OLDE TYME MORE LIKE GREAT TIME!!!! I have been getting tattooed by EVERYONE in this shop for over two years and i wouldn't go anywhere but Olde Tyme. I got my chest piece done here by John Casey and his attention to detail is amazing. He was very prompt with replying to emails while we were throwing ideas around. The entire piece took 3 sittings and I sat for around 4 hours each time. The price was very fair for the work he did on me and the shop environment was pretty relaxed and laid back.
