If Platypus keeps up the experience we had, that 4.8 will go even higher. Our driver, Gary, was personable and accommodating. He gave us some info along the drive to three boutique wineries, but did not drone on and on as some tour drivers can do. This allowed the 12 of us to chat, get to know each other a bit more and build some rapport. We stopped at three wineries: Rutherford Ranch, Ghost Block and Backstage. Each gave us 4 to 5 tastings. At Ghost Block, we also had a very nice box lunch. By the end of the tour (it was all day), we had all had some wonderful conversations and experienced some great boutique wineries. We visited 4 wineries which one had a wonderful farm to table lunch waiting for us (which this was included in ticket price) Each winery visited made us feel at home/great stories/great people and great wine waiting for us upon arrival! Wine tasting fees are addl around $35-40 per person. Our last winery visited Paul helped us to get TSA approved shipping boxes which wine got home safely! We got a real feel for the area and the wine making experience. We started with a tour and tasting at Glen Lyon. Picture yourself at a picnic table with the most beautiful mountains and vineyard as your backdrop tasting wine that came from vines just a few feet away, that's the experience you get with Tom. It's worth every single penny and I will always book with Tom when I "revisit". On a side note my mom needed a prescription filled and Tom dropped it off while we ate lunch in his amazing backyard and took us back to pick it up when we were done with our tour, it just showed what a kind man he is! We shopped around quite a bit for shuttle services and they had the best rates for our group size. But what really impressed us was how flexible they were when we needed to make some last-minute changes to timing and pickup spots. They could have been difficult about billing adjustments but really went out of their way to make sure we were happy.
