Their store is filled with beautiful and unusual things but unfortunately one of their sourced items from a seller in India does not hold up and last beyond 2.5 years despite infrequent use. My mother purchased a beautiful wooden kitchen island with a marble top and leather woven stools for her home. She came home one day to find the marble countertop side trim pieces shattered on the floor. This kitchen island is now dangerous with sharp edges exposing that the marble countertop is less than a 1/2 inch thick. The owner was unwilling to give her any accommodation or good will gesture to rectify this defective piece. I was told to sand the sharp edges to prevent injury to my mother's aged thin skin. I guess you get what you pay for as this was a reasonably priced solution for her kitchen and now it's dangerous and unsightly. read more

Visited again with my daughter...this pace is incredible. You can spend 2-3 hours just exploring all of the treasures both inside and out. What's special about this place are the people who work here. The folks moving items and stocking things always asked if we had questions. So many of the same thing, aged exactly the same way, I have to ask, "Are these really antiques?". I found multiple duplicates of most pieces of furniture. Beautiful items. I could spend hours looking through their stuff. Very friendly and helpful staff. This was my first stop on my way to Round Top. I plan to return because the selection of merchandise was huge. I believe it's comparable to most other vendors and great value. My time was cut short because I was taking care of my fussy granddaughter and impatient hubby. I did buy the cutest little match holders. They are little ceramic shoes. I wish I lived closer so I could stop by more regularly. Immediately upon walking through their doors it's a feast for your eyes. Come here when you're looking for a specific furniture piece or decor item. Come here when you don't need anything at all because its beautiful and you'll be inspired for sure. My sister is an interior designer and Old World Antieks always puts a smile on her face. The separate warehouse section to the left of the building that has all the doors and windows is like walking through heaven. Doors and windows of every possible shape and size, doors that you wish opened to Narnia, doors that you wish you could fit in your house. Every time I stop in the staff is incredibly friendly. Buyers beware! Just purchased leather dining chairs and leather bench from Old World Antieks. After they loaded them for us my husband noticed through the cardboard and plastic that they didn't match. We went inside and let staff know they were not matching . We were told sorry no exchanges . We asked them if we could exchange them for a set of chairs that matched and were told no and that the owner makes no exceptions but we could ask her in the next day or so. We explained you sold and loaded dining chairs that don't go together and we're told nothing they could do. Be very careful buying anything from them as they have really bad service and if they sell you anything before you give them your money check it over really well before they load you up . Our last dealings with them. Oh and by the way most of stuff coming out of India not European. read more

Omg this place is fabulous!! This is the best place if you want that shabby chic, French country look, or any architectural salvage pieces. Yes a little pricey, but you could pay the same at restoration hardware and not get the real McCoy. Also, the lady inside was so nice. Even though it was 10 minutes to closing, she encouraged us to take pictures, said they would ship anywhere, and even let us wander around the grounds after they were closed. We love this place and have shopped here for years. Unfortunately we experienced worst customer service. After waiting 9 minutes we asked clerk how long it would be on checking out couple ahead us. Pretty busy Sunday and one person at checkout. He looked at me and said a little longer. Lady checking out was nice and told us they were half way with items being purchased for their store. Terrible but he should have let us know it was going to be 9 minutes and probably 9 more. After we set down our bowl a few more people started to leave. Oh well got it off my chest. read more

Wow. Hard to even give one star but won't post unless you do. Bought 2 chairs in July of 2021, PAID IN FULL AT TIME OF PURCHASE and was told in April of 2022 that I would need to pay an extra $900 PER CHAIR to take delivery because of price increases. I had NEVER heard of such a thing and wrote a long letter to the owners through the sales division giving them the opportunity to respond before posting a negative review and never heard one thing back from them. While they did refund my money, they clearly have no interest in honoring a sale nor responding to a customer. No one else does this, despite price increases. My friend purchased 2 chairs from Pottery Barn around the same time, waited the same amount of time, and there wasn't any increase. Once a sale is made, do the right thing and give your customers what they paid for. I had shopped there several times before, spent a lot of money, but will never shop there again. Poor, poor business practices. read more

Such a great place right on Hwy 71. We found this location on our trips back and forth from Austin to Houston, Texas. They have beautiful unique items from a wide range of countries. Way too expensive and some of the items are reproductions. I'm knowledgeable on old American farm equipment and they were trying to explain their high prices telling me that what they had was from "Europe" when clearly the manufacturers are from The US. I won't be back here for sure. read more
