    The Rubicon

We eat here often, sandwiches are amazing and staff is fantastic. If I was a pie eater, they have some very unique choices. We have eaten the O.C., the Rubicon , and the Flying Pig. So far the O.C. Is the favorite, but the other sandwiches are delicious too! Try i

This is a quiet little place that used to be a gas station. As a military member I wanted to try this with my parents while I was here. My dad ordered the Officer's Club sandwich (ironically, since he was an officer in the Air Force). I ordered the Rubicon (Rueben) but subbed the rye for white bread since I absolutely hate rye. I don't like Swiss cheese either but they didn't seem to have provolone. My mom ordered the Rubicon as well but I also ordered the fried apple pie. The pie was flaky and delicious just like an empanada or apple pie should be. It was sweet and gooey and thanks to my lack of a breakfast this morning... gone in about 11 seconds. My mom had to pull it away from me (literally) for a bite of it. These would be great snacks on the go or just to get a bunch for, oh I don't know... camping, road trips... waiting on a flight at the airport? This is the best damn Rueben I have ever had! There is so much thinly sliced meat from their grass-fed beef that you can definitely taste the difference! The sauce is a little like mustard versus most thousand island and is enough for flavor and not too overpowering. The bread is toasted and has a little crunch while still being airy. The sauerkraut is crunchy and perfectly fermented. The sandwich, apple pie, and chips was more than enough to fill me for lunch! Both my parents raves about their sandwiches too. They live a couple hours away but stated if they were in the area they would definitely be back. I told them the next time they pick me up from the airport I hope they bring me back a Rubicon on white bread. Try it and taste the deliciousness for yourself!

Had the best lunch today! #rubicon

Sandwiches are always delicious. Wonderful pies. Only problem is they go fast. The staff is friendly and helpful.
