Trail pass hazy IPA, half roasted chicken with seasonal succotash was excellent
    Eva W.

Best salad in Little Rock as of this review! (Little Gems, although the Simple is a close backup and the Caesar is delightful). All protein/sides dinner entrees I've had over the past two years are well portioned, well executed, and seasonal. Big plus is we can feed the meat eaters and the vegans in our family from one menu because they have some exceptional small plates and sides that are heavy veg or carb (tempura veggies! Cornbread! Roasted carrots with chimichurri!). Desserts here are exceptional...just...try them. Any of them! Their pastry chef is talented. The ambiance is really lovely - contemporary and clean (even the bathrooms thankfully), although I've had more than one occasion where my table / booth is so wobbly i feel like I'm dining in a train car. Outside you can catch an awesome sunset in the summer / fall at dinner time. Plus, the alley area is such an innovation physically space for something a bit more festive like brunch or their Wednesday trivia. My servers are always nice and kitchen staff have been accommodating to us with young kids. Some servers are top notch attentive and swift, and some are a bit delayed and clumsy, which is, frankly, a cut above in Little Rock.

Young woman working the front was very helpful. Food was very average. Pizza crust didn't have h flavor and there was a good amount of red sauce not topped with cheese. Caesar salad had too much dressing and quite a bit of brown lettuce. Triple cooked potatoes were the best part of the meal. Restaurant wasn't busy. We took food to go but inside of restaurant was nice and looks like their baked goods could be tasty.

I went twice, once for dinner and once to study with friends. The disco fries and cornbread are insane, and so are the pastries and breakfast sandwich. The service is amazing here, Ingrid is so nice! I definitely want to come back and try more things.

Heat of autumn & tiki-la marg

Went here for the first time recently, and I had a great experience! We tried a couple different cocktails: tiki-la marg, heat of autumn, and sangre marg. All were great! Fun flavors, well balanced, and definitely worth having another round of. Had the skillet cornbread (love that it is gluten free). It was delicious! It was good cornbread with a solid honey butter that went with it. Ate the whole thing! Went also ordered the butcher plate with chef's sausage. All of it was good! The pickled cauliflower was next level. Whatever the sausage was was equally amazing.

Now come on....how has this place been a secret. I know it's been here, I've heard about it....just no idea why we've never gone. It was so good!! With the fall weather coming in their outdoor dining experience is exceptional! We ordered the house pickles...pretty solid. A pickled cauliflower was both unique and enjoyable. Picked green beans...yup it works. The smoked onion dip...this app...we couldn't stop eating. It hit the spot today. The cornbread...do you ever have food that just flashes back a memory you've long forgot. My wife who is a true southerner cried and loved this cornbread. It reminded her of her late mother's corn bread. That's saying something. I had the pork chops. I loved how they presented it. It was a perfect medium cook, pre sliced and the knife...ok fancy. The green beans were a sugar soy sauce type green beans. My wife makes a version for the holidays. When I noticed that...it hit me. This is a family, southern style restaurant. She had the market steak. We aren't fans of NY strip. The gristle, the fat on the steak for us can be off putting. But...for a market steak it was really good. The way it was prepped and the salsa verde was so fresh...it tasted perfectly. The only food item we didn't like was the potato salad...it was too clean tasting. Like shampoo style. It needed salt and lemon or acidity to change the profile. Also the greens...it should've been cooked down more and needed more spice. That was the only thing we didn't love. The kids cheeseburger with gruyere cheese was very good. I can't wait to try their pizza. The whole atmosphere, service, food, music, it was a place that did not feel like LR. It reminded me of a place in Charlotte. We will be back and more regularly for sure.

Delicious food and drinks! we came in at 3pm which meant we got their dinner menus. We ordered way too much pizza thinking they were personal sized. oops! I highly recommend the cherry blossom sake cocktail (not pictured) and the fungi pizza. The disco fries were also fantastic. The meat was so tender that it melts in your mouth.

This place is so cute and has delicious food! It is smaller on the inside than I expected but love the concept. Waitress was very nice. The skillet cornbread was the best cornbread I've ever had. Just the right amount of heat and sweet with the Serrano peppers, cheddar cheese and honey on top. Delicious! I also had the frisée salad with bacon lardons and a poached egg. Also delicious and fresh. Would come back here again. Cute little bakery and gift shop inside as well with things for sale such as local honey.

Biscuit with sausage gravy topped with scrambled eggs

The food here is so good. I attended a private event on Friday night that served pizza, a variety of charcuterie meats, and pickled vegetables. Everything was so good that I went back the following day for brunch. The cornbread is the best I've ever had and the breakfast sandwich with sugar cured ham on a fresh croissant was delicious. My dad enjoyed the biscuits with sausage gravy topped with scrambled eggs. Servings are huge. We brought home leftovers and enjoyed the meal again on Sunday! Our server, Maddie, was friendly and made great suggestions. She made our dining experience even better.

    Iced coffee.

The Alley is very eclectic and interesting. A favorite brunch spot, especially the cornbread as a starter. The service was a bit slow due to a staff shortage, but the servers were great.

Great service. Cute public market feel but waited service. Best sourdough loaf we've found in the area. Love that they offer to slice it for you! HELLA good kouign amann and chocolate cake. Pepperoni pizza was crispy and thin crust. We got the special which was a brisket sandwich and the brisket was delicious!!

Weak service and menu limitations made today's visit tough. Maybe future visits will be better.

Awkward layout, but a unique concept nonetheless. Cornbread was really really good, but everything else fairly average. Service was OK.

I've personally worked my way through most of the menu over time, so I was excited for them to try it. It was around 9am so it was still fairly quiet and calm. Believe me it gets busy!! We started with orange juice and a Sunrise Matcha while we looked over the menu and caught up. The service was excellent (always) attentive, friendly, and relaxed, which made it easy to take our time. My companion ordered the B Street Bowl (potatoes, smoked brisket, onions, and peppers) with the queso served on the side and eggs cooked to order(fried hard). I ordered The Chenal which is their seasoned grilled shrimp with bacon, peppers, and tomatoes over cheesy grits. I added an over-medium egg and a side of hollandaise. Both dishes were delicious and incredibly satisfying. The portions were huge, and we each ended up taking a to-go box home for a mini meal later. It's the kind of brunch spot where you can sip your drink, take your time, and leave very full. Tip: If you order the B Street Bowl, getting the queso on the side lets you control the richness. Everything is amazing here. If you're a newbie, you can't go wrong with a Benedict!

It was lunchtime, and even though I thought I wanted something sweet like French toast the brisket wrap caught my eye, and I decided to give that a try instead. Meanwhile, the nice lady sitting next to me received her bananas, foster pancakes, and I immediately started kicking myself for not going that route. Her bananas were beautifully caramelized with quite a bit of sauce, topping the pancakes, and it looked heavenly. According to her, it was heavenly. Moments later, my brisket wrap arrived with the tiniest little container of a garlic aïoli, which was clearly homemade. The rap itself was jampacked full of succulent, perfectly cooked beef, but when you put a little bit of that aïoli on there, it really stepped its game up and shined! I left completely stuffed in a very happy camper and you will too. Enjoy!

After not having been there since before covid, I went back yesterday. I noticed the remodel and saw the lack of a case featuring cakes and other sweets. OK - I thought as long as it still tastes the same. I heard an employee tell another customer that the same family still owned it. I got my old favorite -- lemon blueberry tea cake and a cupcake with coconut and caramel topping the icing. My sister who has celiac bought several soups, many pieces of cheesecake, an individual lemon pie, cookies and more. She took a bite of the little pie as soon as we got in the car -- let me tell you it was awful. The lemon did not taste at all lemony. It tasted mostly of chemicals. When I got home, I ate the cupcake and the cupcake itself was dry and barely edible. The frosting was some unknown concoction that tasted of chemicals also. My sister told me this morning that she ate more stuff when she got home and she has been sick all night and still today. I googled Dempsey and it says that Paula Dempsey sold the bakery to Friendly Bakery. They did the remodel and I am assuming the food was also "remodeled." I'm sure it was a "money" thing because that is what big business always does -- look at the bottom line. I am so disappointed. I used to go there for lunch when I worked downtown but I know for sure, I won't be going back. I did not select "service" or "ambiance" as noted above. I didn't find anything wrong with either. It was the chemical taste of the food and the lack of freshness that I am upset about.
