Want to get lunch and feel like you're helping a cause? Come here!…read more I've been to On the Go Foods a few times now and I'm consistently happy and think it's a great value. You have the option of getting a salad or a sandwich. I have yet to try the salads but they make a great chicken salad sandwich and tend to stick with that. The sandwiches come with a side, a bag of chips, and a cookie -- all for $8. You really can't beat that. Heads up, the only seating they have is outside at a picnic table, so it is truly "on-the-go".

Wow! After eating their food for a second time, I could not resist reviewing this place. How would…read moreyou like a sandwich, salad, and soup shop, where everything is homemade? All the meats baked in the house, bread baked in house, cheese sliced themselves, fresh organic vegetables and such sliced by hand by loving employees. Soups, made from scratch, like your grandmother made them or something. That's what this place is. A Jewel in the Nile. Also, I believe they only hire people with developmental disabilities, so when you eat here, you are supporting a very noble cause. Twice now I have purchased the Kentucky club, thick slice home house baked turkey, thick sliced in-house baked ham, and thick sliced bacon, with thick sliced Swiss cheese and cheddar, with hyper fresh greens and fresh sliced Roma tomatoes. Did I mention they make their own bread? So all of those great ingredients stacked on in-house baked whole wheat bun. So delicious. They even make their own potato chips! And they are amazing. Oh, they also make their own cookies from scratch and they are pretty darn delicious. Here's the hard part about this place, it's practically invisible. It sits on the backside of an industrial area, and is relatively hidden for that reason. The only reason I ever heard of this place is because I went to work on their security system. The food looked so good that I bought lunch, and after going back a week later and eating there again, I can Guarantee that I will return weekly for at least one lunch, because the prices are so good and the food is so good that this place just cannot be passed up. Not to mention the great cause. Don't go expecting to sit down, it's takeout only, but everything is lovingly packaged and prepared hourly. I just cannot say enough good things about this place, I am really happy that I found it and when you find it you should be too. Please support this place as it is a wonderful little joint for a great cause.

While it's fairly small and certainly spare, items are well organized, in date, in good shape, and easily found on clean and tidy shelves. Produce and a few pre-made items are confined to coolers on the far left, rear left of the location has chest freezers, both of which have the added benefit of no lingering smells. Limited selection of bulk rice and other items, as well. Prices certainly fair (to low). Solid 3.5, especially if you're just looking for a few staple Asian ingredients that are otherwise unavailable from places like Kroger and Walmart, or trying to supplement Chinese food groceries / supplies without having to drive over an hour to more extensive markets.

My family and I came here the other day to check this place out and grab some lunch and price out some steaks for a Christmas party coming up. You walk in and they have a counter where you order. They prepare your order and give it to you and you go to a counter by the exit to pay. At the exit counter they also have some dessert options and candy. On this trip we grabbed lunch. I personally ordered a hand and cheese sandwich. It was good but kinda small and overpriced at $6. My wife did there lunch special of soup of the day and half a sandwich. Soup of the day was chili which she said was tasty. She got a club sandwich and said it was really good. Had great flavor. My oldest daughter got a corn beef sandwich and raved about it. The counter desserts got to us. I got me and my second oldest daughter this giant m&m's brownie which was cheaply priced (opposite of ham sandwich) and was really good. You know how the corner pieces or a brownie platter is the best? Well this whole thing tasted like a giant corner piece with m&m's. Legit one of the best brownies I've had before. My oldest got cake pops and she said they were really good. On this trip we didn't purchase any steaks. However, we may come back. There ribeyes pricing lined up with local retail stores so I think we would rather support local small businesses like this one this holiday season and give it a shot. So I think we will come back in a a few days and buy some of the ribeyes which run around $13 a pound. Overall very cool and nice addition to the small town of Mount Washington. Not to many lunch spots in This town. So the fact that it's a meat shop to I think it will do well. They do have a spacious inside and it would be nice to see them setup a few tables so people can eat there sandwiches and chili and soups while there.

As well as different steaks and meats. I decided I wanted to grill up some of their steaks that they were advertising on Facebook page. $12.99 a pound for NY strip steaks. I decided why not lets give this local establishment a shot. I went into the newly renovated building and I immediately liked the atmosphere. It was very clean and well lit. They had reruns of Andy Griffith show on the tv behind the counter. (Which I love that show) I was greeted by a woman that asked What I wanted and I asked for two of those NY strips. The price out the door was $23.24 for the two steaks. I went home seasoned the steaks and fired up the grill. My wife and I ate our steaks and we said they were good. They were not the best but they were really good. I will be back to try more items. I had the fried shrimp, and they clearly were NOT just frozen shrimp they'd bought somewhere and fried, these seemed homemade. . .definitely NOT typical mass-production shrimp. The food was pretty good. There's two things I would list as downsides, however. The first is that the wait for service was pretty long. It was quite a long wait from when I ordered until I got my food. That's a minor downside, given the quality. I got the picture they might not have a robust back-of-house staff. The second, and bigger downside is. . .I didn't go there expecting a seafood place! The well-worn sign out front still says "Deez Butts" BBQ, and I'd followed signs from the freeway exit thinking I was going to a barbecue joint. When I stepped inside, I pieced together as I was standing in line that the BBQ had closed and this was now a seafood place. It was good food, but I was expecting barbecue and was too hungry to bother hunting for another place to eat. I was left wondering if they couldn't afford to change the (well worn) sign out front. It just seemed a little odd that the sign out front is for a barbecue joint, but it's a seafood place inside.
