I remembered this place while in the area and I suddenly had a hankering for fish & chips. I did a take out order of haddock, 4 shrimp and fries. The batter is tempura style which I wasn't expecting. Still good. It made the fish taste a bit lighter but it still retained the greasy aftertaste of deep fried love. Heh. My large batch of fries didn't quite survive the journey home in terms of heat and there was more tiny crunchy ones than I'd like, but decent thick straight cut. The shrimp were really yummy, albeit generic frozen ones. Kitchen staff all looked like high school kids. Sitting area was packed and is quite cosy space wise. Tuesdays are all you can eat for $8.99 though so that explains the crowd. Take out took very little time to be ready which is great. read more

I am the first person to go out of my way to say something GOOD when I have a good experience. Example: If I grab a burger in a drive-thru & it's awesome then I will phone the Manager on duty from my car or when I get home, to let them know. Like, I go out of my way to give praise when due. BUT ... The last 3 times that I have gone to Olde London have not been a good experience. I tried 3 times before writing this. First time I was hassled even with a written doctor note for mask exemption. Second time I was given attitude by the waitress because I ordered take-out & then decided to sit at a table to eat it after thinking about my struggle eating in the car over Covid. Tonight, 2 pieces of whitefish (drenched in grease) literally not even the size of what used to be ONE PIECE. The entire takeout box full of fries. And then given attitude because I asked for 2 extra little packets of tartar sauce. She said, 'well the pieces of fish aren't that big'???? Really?? No shit Sherlock!!! Yeah, if I had've looked at what they packed up for me before leaving I would have asked for my $15 back. What happened to this place?? Both the food & service at least match I guess. Lousy. Stopped for a quick lunch. I started with the seafood chowder. One of the best I have tasted. Nancy had the Salmon and chips (one of the only places we have found Salmon done this way) and I had the Alaskan white fish and chips. A great lunch that I would highly recommend. read more

Have tried Fish n chips in almost every corner of Canada, all claiming to be "award winning" or "The best in town", only to walk away disappointed. Not claiming to be a connoisser but having grown up in Ireland and close to several chippies, I know when I've had good fish & Chips. Olde London has to be the best yet! I ordered a haddock and chips and it was so good I was tempted to suck the vinegar out of the packaging when all the chips were gone like we did as kids. The batter on the haddock was very light & crispy and chips were fresh & hot, both in generous portions. Service was a tad slow but it was lunchtime and the place was busy so it was certainly worth the wait. Look forward to a return visit. read more

God, how cliche am I that I go to London, Ontario and have to eat at a fish and chips place? No, this isn't England, but apparently my dad thinks it is. Whatever, this place was really good but jesus the portions were insane. I got to try the Alaskan white fish, the Halibut, and the Haddock. The Halibut was by far the best, and the 5 hand-breaded shrimp it came with were really good as well. Skip the mushy peas. I'm not sure how those could ever be satisfying. read more

This is your basic English-style fish & chips joint. I ordered the special, haddock & chips, with coleslaw, and the seafood chowder. The wait staff was friendly & helpful. The food was excellent. They made a fresh pot of coffee, just for us. I will definitely go back. read more

Not a big place serves around 50 in the dinning room, does a lot of pick up orders. Clean with a slight smell of frying oil. The service was a bit lackadaisy she seemed more interested in getting ketchup bottles filled then serving tables. A lot of the diners are older and have been going for years. The food is good but the batter is more of a tampura batter then a traditional fish batter. The chips were delicious hot and crisp. Ordered the deep fried pickles and thought they would make them in house seeing as they have batter already made but i was wrong they were frozen ones that are found all over. Prices are ok. Over all not bad but i have had better as road side fry stall. read more

Great fish and chips spot. Did takeout and the guy behind the counter was extremely friendly and make the food quickly. Both the haddock and halibut were delicious. The fries as well were great! If you want fish and chips this is the place. My two complaints are that while the one guy was busy taking orders and cooking another worker was vacuuming instead of helping take orders to ease the line. Second is that the deep fried pickles are frozen out-of-the-box. It should be removed from the menu or they should use their own batter. However these two things are minor compared to the good quality and tasty fish and chips! read more

My mother, my sister and myself have been coming here almost once a week for close to a year. The food is always consistently excellent and the service is out of this world friendly. My mother just turned 90 and this is where she wanted to eat for lunch. We were more than happy to bring her here and they did not disappoint. A delicious lunch was enjoyed as always and coconut cream pie was brought out with candles and everyone in this wonderful restaurant sang to my mom. Went a couple of Sundays ago when I saw the sign for all you can eat Alaska poluck (my favorite) the first plate came quickly two small pieces of fish and a mountain of chips some tiny and overcooked looked like the bottom of the drain bin where the chips are put after cooking. It went downhill from there the refills were mostly batter very thin pieces of fish one was actually just fried batter. I like fried batter if it is a beavertail but then it is sprinkled with sugar and topped with maple syrup. Certainly not what you get when you go to Joey's only seafood for their AYCE fish and chips. Sadly the closest Joey's is in Kitchener. Will not go to Olde London fish and chips again read more
