The quality of the food at Archie's has deteriorated badly of late. It used to be our favourite fish and chip restaurant in London. Now they're offering reheated French fries and fish left over from earlier in the day. We used to give Archie's a 4/5 rating. Now it gets a1/5 rating. I usually go to Archie's for breakfast but it was Good Friday and I was craving a nice fresh piece of fish and some chips. I was disappointed, I ordered the halibut with the light batter but it had absolutely no flavour and I'd hate to see what the heavier batter was like. The fries were stale and warm at best. I think they had been sitting out for a while. Now the good: service was very good and their desserts are worth the trip in themselves. I ordered the coconut cream pie and my husband , the chocolate cream pie. 5 stars for the pies. Therefore, I would go to Archie's again for breakfast and the desserts but never again for the fish and chips. read more

They have several locations in and around the London area. Great fish and chips! We all had the halibut and chips, grabbed a coleslaw to bring the whole meal package together. The service was great, fast and ready when they said it would be. I often get take-out for Archie's since my mother's disabled and it's much easier to bring home. Their food is always terrific! Really big portions mean it's well worth the money you're spending, which is really very reasonable. The staff is always friendly and cheerful, and the way they interact with one another is also cheerful - joking, smiling, and laughing as they serve the customers even when it's super busy. We usually order dinner ahead, since it's a pick up, and it's always hot and ready when I get there (often I'm early for the pick up, which means I have to wait -- this is a good sign. It means the food is prepared as close to the pick up time as possible so the food is hot when you get it) Last night, when I was picking up my order of a double halibut and chips order (plenty of food for my mother and I), I overheard the lady at the drive-thru window talking to a customer in a vehicle who had a dog. She told the lady they had dog treats for the dog if she wanted something. Talk about customer service!! I couldn't help but smile. Another couple of ladies came in while I was waiting and a gentleman came in from the restaurant (judging from his attire, I would think he's a manager) and he smiled at the ladies and addressed the one lady by name, and she returned in kind by referring to him by name. The worst service in town!!! The waitress name is Val! So rude and no professional mind manner! Previous visit from a couple of months was so bad but still four of us decided to visit again for Tuesday afternoon meal. Even worse than previous visit! The waitress named Val.. OMG she has still same manner and no expression with rude behavior! We immediately decided to walk out and won't come back again, never! If I am the owner of the poor service restaurant, I will not hire this lady. Good impression starts with good service right at the entrance of the restaurant, not only the taste of food. Despite the name making you think about seafood, Archie's is one of the best breakfast spots in the city. (The Huron/Highbury location also has breakfast / brunch buffets on the weekend, which are the best thing ever). read more

There food is okay but the buffet isn't that great either but they have a hell of a milk shake and I recommend that you'd try one.

Not sure what happened, they used to be so good. Fish seems smaller, fries aren't fresh cut anymore (i think they may have reheated too) and coleslaw not homemade. Pricey for the quality and that's unfortunate. read more
