    Cheese Curds

The cheese curds have changed, but not for the better. They taste as if this restaurant has moved away from actual fried cheese curds and moved toward just frying cheese similar to a small mozzarella stick. The inside is very melty now and a more oily. They have also moved away from dusting with Parmesan which was a really nice touch to the flavor profile. The wings are still good here. There were a little dry, possibly overcooked. The staff were great and very friendly. The ambiance is still relaxed while being a little elevated.

The chefs salad was very large and very delicious. It has a ton of ingredients.

This was my third visit send they did not disappoint. I'll reserve the background for our group's christmas luncheon celebration. Everyone was happy with their food selections and service. The backroom was perfect for our group. We will definitely be back again.

    Smoked then fried wings

First time eating from here. Horrible wings, the skin was rubbery and had absolutely no taste at all. These were supposed to be Garlic Parmesan wings. As you can see, they were burnt black on the edges.

Our group of 20 was given the side room and a huge long table. And an open memo. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere comfortable. And after a request to the waitstaff to compliment the cook, he came out to thank us personally. I went big and had the Angus RibEye as did a couple friends. Various sides were had. The steak was a bit fatty but that's where the flavor comes from .. along with some wonderful subtle seasonings that didn't get in the way of the natural flavor. all others seemed pleased with their meals as well. Oh and some Chares pulled pork nachos were very nice! Friend and I shared a bottle of California Cab. Went with the steak nicely .. it had enough acid and tannins that preferred being with rich food. I would go back for sure

This place has the worst food imaginable. Awful service and when I asked to see the manager she never came and saw me. Don't eat here

Ate lunch here today, fried pickles were some of the best I've had. Highly recommend the chicken cordon bleu sandwich!

Not our first rodeo at Hickory Station. Great ambience and location next to the square in downtown…read moreHickory. Usually very consistent and food well prepared and presented. Couple opportunities this round, red beets in the beet salad were crunchy and waited a bit at the table before waitress came by. She made up for it and rest of the experience was great. My chicken on biscuits with gravy was delicious. Sweet tea always a welcome treat too. This is a regular go to for us and should be yours as well! Good Selling!

Last night we had a terribly disappointing experience at the Olde Hickory Station. My husband and…read moreI are spending a lot of time in Hickory and have an apartment nearby to help with my daughter and son in law's infant twins. After a nice weekend with additional family in town for a special event, I suggested this establishment as I have had many good experiences here in the last 6 months. When we decided on this location, we called ahead and were told no reservations we taken, first come first served. So with the twins and their cousin, we had 3 9-month old babies. Very aware of the complexity of this, we brought hook on chairs and arrived around 5:00. The hostess tried to seat us at a much too small table in the back room, and when we inquired about a larger one, we were told it was "reserved ". . We were seated in a long booth in the bar. The waitress seemed very rushed and upon first visit to table asked if we were ready to order. We were not told of any specials, etc. Good news was that we had decided to be ready and get our full orders in quickly. We ordered an appetizer and cocktails to begin, which came out quickly. My Son in law asked for a fairly plain burger, but wondered if fried onions which were listed on another burger could be added. Waitress said " prob not... but I'll ask". It did not come with the added onions. I asked for my favorite pizza.. she said there's no pizza tonight. While waiting on food, we asked for a couple of orange slices, which we had taken from cocktails to entertain/feed the babies. Waitress said they couldn't do that because the oranges are for the bartender garnishes. I asked for another cocktail with extra oranges and thankfully was given one extra sliver. When our meal was finished, our curt waitress asked if we needed anything else, so we just asked for the check. No suggestion of dessert, etc. We were never visited by the manager to see how all was going... because if so I would have asked if this was establishment policy or simply a rude waitress. We tipped 15%... and let that be it. Note that the babies were fantastic... very little fussing at all. We kept all except the floor cleaned up after them. On our way out... we seemed to be on the waitress's way... she never said anything like have a good night, etc... but shouted "Behind you!" twice on her way to deliver another table's food, and as we were getting out of her way to leave. A disappointing end to a restaurant experience I'd enjoyed before. Note to self... not particularly baby friendly.
