Went here on our way to Asheville and im certainly happy I did. So many taps available to try. I was able to do a flight and each one i got was solid. The food was amazing as well. I was able to get some simple eggs and a few sides which went well with my drinks. Sat at the bar area which is first come, first served.

My friends and I stopped here as a road trip pit stop and were delighted to see the restaurant was accompanied by the store front. Lots of beer, ciders, wine, cheese and meats! This was a fun way to spend the 25 min for a table. But also dangerous lol. My favorite purchase was the freshly baked bread. Omg perfect for garlic bread. This part of the whole ordeal is what upped the experience from a 3 star to a 4 star Now as for the restaurant, it was okay. The cauliflower fritters were delicious and probably our favorite thing we ordered. Very cheesy and crispy and came with a tasty butter. I ordered the southwestern omelette and it came with cheesy grits (YUM!) and toast with apple butter. The grits were definitely the best part. I could've eaten just a big bowl of those. My friends weren't as pleased with their meals: the Philly cheesesteak (she didn't like the cheese sauce) and the breakfast sandwich on Texas toast (she said it just was over all pretty basic). The really down part was the service. Our server was obviously very unhappy to be there. She was pretty busy, which I understand, but doesn't mean you have to have a bad attitude. Again, thankfully they had the fun store and the lady at the store front counter was AMAZING! She was juggling A LOT. Helping us with cheeses and desserts while also answering the phone for take out orders and miscellaneous questions. Huge props to her.

Not our first rodeo at Hickory Station. Great ambience and location next to the square in downtown Hickory. Usually very consistent and food well prepared and presented. Couple opportunities this round, red beets in the beet salad were crunchy and waited a bit at the table before waitress came by. She made up for it and rest of the experience was great. My chicken on biscuits with gravy was delicious. Sweet tea always a welcome treat too. This is a regular go to for us and should be yours as well! Good Selling!

This place is beautiful and when you walk in there's a shop filled with craft beers, Cheese and desserts. There's a lot of variety of beers. The service was awesome. Very helpful and keep our drinks refilled! There's patio, indoor and bar seating. Good for a nice date or drinks with ya friends. The food came out warm to cool. From the burgers to fries. But other than that everything was perfect and delicious!

We arrived downtown after a long walk on the Riverwalk a short drive away. We arrived on Monday Memorial Day, when there was not much open downtown. We decided to lunch at Olde Hickory Station, but there was about a 20 minute wait. Service was good, food was a little slow, but the place was very busy today. We tried the chicken salad sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. Was yummy and the Mac and cheese was thick and very cheesy. We also had the Smoked bbq sandwich with the fried okra and the fire and smoke burger with a chicken patty and side of steak fries. Aoli was way too spicy so we went with what tasted like a house made bbq sauce which was good. The bbq pulled pork needed a little more sauce so I tried the bbq sauce and it was better. The place was definitely overwhelmed by the crowd but since nothing else was open, they did their best to accommodate. We had a good experience and good service. We will come back here, maybe for their breakfast next time.

Had such a great experience here! We sat outside on the patio, enjoyed the local live music, and had such a relaxing evening. The atmosphere was perfect, our dinner was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive the whole night. Definitely a great spot to unwind, enjoy good food, and soak in the local vibe. Can't wait to come back!

I came for brunch with some friends and everyone enjoyed their food. The ambiance in this restaurant is really cool, I love seeing how they converted an old train station into a restaurant/store! The service was top notch and our waitress was attentive. I had the Boxcar Turkey Sandwich with Mac and Cheese. The sandwich was served warm and open-faced. I loved the caramelized onions that came on it, it was very homey and tasty. Next time I'm in Hickory I will visit again and try something new!

Wow!! The food is 100 on flavor, our server was very sweet and did a fantastic job and the atmosphere was amazing we sat on the covered porch it has nice size tables lots of space. I ordered a side of steak to go with my salad and it was so flavorful and tender I was very impressed. The beet salad had all kinds of flavors candied pecans and goat cheese, green apple slivers on a bed of mixed greens. With balsamic vinegar dressing. My husband had his sandwich and I tried one of his fries they were excellent. I'm so happy to have found this place on yelp. We will definitely be back. All of that plus two drinks was $41.20 and the salad was a very good size.

Nice holiday glassware. Merry Christmas (Eve!)

We visited for a late lunch on Christmas Eve. It was a nice halfway meetup with a friend from out of town. There was plenty of parking, lot and on the street. The building is in the old train depot and they've kept so much of the charm in the design. The entry area is an upscale market with local beers, a decent wine selection, meats/cheeses/baked goods in the counters and lots of NC packaged snacks. The restaurant had a good variety on the menu, but not so vast that they couldn't do it all well. (Pizzas, salads, sandwiches). We had the hot sandwiches and fries. The Philly Cheesesteak was big! It did have orange cheese sauce instead of the more traditional provolone. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with pimiento cheese and fried okra (and lettuce and tomato.). It came open faced so I had the okra first then enjoyed the rest as a sandwich. Both were really good (and more than we could handle in one sitting!) We also enjoyed a Pilsner and the west coast IPA. Both Olde Hickory brew and both quite good! The room was probably about half full with small and medium sized parties. It looked like they had 2 waitstaff and one bartender but we were well taken care of.

We arrived into town late on a Sunday night and needed a place for a late meal. Oldest Hickory Station was perfect! It was cool enough to sit comfortably outside and enjoy the lightning show from our table. Our waitress was very friendly and welcomed us to town. We started with a flight of beer and cider- so fun that they had so many choices! Then we enjoyed the corn dip appetizer and the Smoke it if you Got It platter. Everything was delicious. There is a very nice market there too that had all sorts of goodies and the best looking desserts. Highly recommend this place!

First time here. Food was good. Typical pub burger. Staff were friendly. Old train station atmosphere.

Such a great little spot! I was here this past Monday for a business lunch. Had no idea I would be stepping back into history. Between the market at the front, bar in the middle, and restaurant in the back , I could not help but think of Dean & Deluca! Our server too during lunch was wonderful. She was very attentive, friendly and informative. When I am back in hickory I will certainly be stopping by the Olde Hickory Station.

I admired the artwork. The cascading glass waterfall is what first caught my eye when I entered. Fourk has been open since 2015 and serves New American cuisine with a twist. I was warmly welcomed when I entered and got seated at a round booth with a great view, near the artwork that caught my eye. They really know how to treat single diners here, which is rare these days. I liked that I got the best table in the place, and that they didn't attempt to seat me at the bar. My waitress was friendly and incredibly attentive. She helped me select a mocktail while going over the daily specials, and she even brought me the dessert menu near the beginning of my meal so I could plan ahead. The menu had many options in all price ranges. You can get sandwiches, burgers, salads and more high-priced entrees like mahi mahi, scallops and filet mignon. I went with the daily special, which was the Oscar Filet Mignon. It came with hollandaise sauce and grilled shrimp, and that combination intrigued me. I had the Party Punch mocktail, but it was perfect with strawberries, basil, pineapple and ginger ale. The filet mignon and topping were also amazing. I even had room for dessert and knew I had to try the blackberry wine cake, and that didn't disappoint either. This was a very special meal for me, as it marked the first leg of my trip to finish visiting all 100 North Carolina counties. With the great atmosphere, service, and food, Fourk set the bar incredibly high for the rest of my journey. I might need to make another special trip just to dine here again. The murder mystery nights and the live music nights are an added plus.

For food, I ordered the fried pork chops with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes (gravy on the side). While fried pork chops were tasty and well seasoned, the mashed potatoes had the perfect texture but lack any seasoning. Very very plain. Mac n cheese was a hard pass. I ate one noodle and quickly pushed the whole bowl to the side. I also had a margarita, usually a pretty easy drink to make. This one had a bit too much sour mix. My husband had the ribs with mashed sweet potatoes and parmesan French fries. The sweet potatoes and ribs were tasty but fries were a pass. Our server was very sweet and attentive. The pub is in the basement of a building which is not always a good thing but in this case, it worked well! The spiral staircase added character to the pub and the character kept on keepin' on as we entered the restaurant. The inside is brick and wood which gives a pleasant dive feel. The staff was friendly and we were seated promptly. It was around 7:30 pm on a Saturday evening so it was pleasantly uncrowded. We ordered Irish potato soup, fried cheese curds, the Reuben on sourdough bread and fish n' chips. They were all amazing!! I had the soup and it was delicious- it was their take on French onion soup with potatoes and carrots. They always have it so if you like soup- GET IT! The cheese curds were legit- the cheese was tasty and the breading just right. My wife ordered the Rueben on sourdough instead of the offered rye. The sandwich was a classic Reuben which my wife liked so much that I had to have a bite. It was great! Plenty of corned beef and hash with a sauce that added the right amount of tang. My son ordered the fish and chips. The fish was outstanding and my son and I both agreed that it was as good as fish that we had recently had in London- awesome! One note about the fries- the fries were scrumptious and came in a shape that seems like they shaved from a potato rather than the usual shape of a fry. The shape was neat but the taste was no joke- delicious. Oh, and if you like sweet tea, they have it.;) Overall, it was a great dinner in a great place with friendly people at a fair price.
