House Salad. (w/ smoked vegetable topping)
    Mike B.

Fantastic. The space is large and nicely arranged with plenty of seating options. The staff were all extremely friendly. The beer, some from an attached brewery, was great, with a nice range of styles. Not everything on tap was another IPA. In terms of food, I'm not their target audience, but they do seem to have made at least some effort to have something without meat on the menu. In terms of food, I ordered the house salad with a smoked vegetable topping. It was great. The smoked vegetables were a really nice way to get a little bit of barbecue into a vegetarian dish. They also added lots of flavor to the salad. I was afraid the salad might not be very substantial, so I also ordered some pickle fries. Those were interesting, but substantially more food than I needed. The salad is already plenty for a meal. I've been traveling this week, and I think this place is the best restaurant I've checked out during my trip. Highly recommended.

The food was amazing. Best bbq I've ever had. The sweet tea was so good. The service was exceptional. Our waitress didn't even ask if we wanted refills, as soon as she saw our drinks were getting low, she brought another one. And the place itself looked so cool. Loved it.

2 meat BBQ Combo. Pork belly and turkey

I was in the Johnson City area and looking adore some good cue for lunch. This place had good reviews and looked cool so here I am! Generally I prefer a good hole in the wall spot for my BBQ. But this fancier place hit the spot! I sat at the bar, it was really busy for a weekday at lunch, that's usually a good sign! I went non traditional and got the smoked pork belly and turkey. The pork belly was delicious! The turkey was sliced very thin. It had good flavor but lost a little moisture because f the cut. I got fried okra and slaw also. Both weee very tasty. Overall a great restaurant. They had an amazing bar with a healthy bourbon selection. I wish I could have tried some out! Good service in a cool ambience.

We ordered the Tennessee Trinity with pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. The brisket was quite fatty, the pulled pork lacked flavor, and the ribs were tough and didn't seem properly smoked--they weren't tender or "fall off the bone" as expected. The food also needed a lot of barbecue sauce to add flavor; the sweet sauce was good, but the mild sauce was very vinegar-forward and not very enjoyable. My mom ordered the coleslaw and didn't care for it. I had the grits, which were just okay, and my daughter got the beans, which she described as having a "wannabe steak" flavor with a strong liquid smoke taste.

We ordered the Tennessee Trinity with smoked chicken, ribs, and chopped brisket. Our appetizers were the Pulled Pork tater tots with burnt ends, and the Fried House Pickles. The meat was all top notch, I think the chicken was next level. We were seated quickly and the waitress was quick to take care of everything we needed. The interior was open and attractive, music was at a level appropriate for conversation without making it difficult. My wife got a Southern Lady drink, she liked it, it was sweet but not too sweet, she would get it again. I had the Appalachian Highlands Chocolate Stout, which was rich and very good, I also tried the Thunder Pig IPA setting at 90 IBU. It was very good for those who love a beer that bites back. My only real critique is that it was 28 degrees outside when we were there, and there was a strong draft when the doors were opened.

We stopped in on a Sat evening at around 6 o'clock. I made a reservation online. We had a party of 4. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. I liked the vibe of the restaurant. The fried pickle App with chipotle ranch was very good. I had the fried chicken sandwich with a side of coleslaw. It was a BIG piece of chicken on a pretzel roll. I wish it was spicier but it was a good meal for me. Hubby had the fried catfish. He said it was heavy on the breading. I was come again and try the traditional pork BBQ.

Me and six other people with the Konnarock volunteer trail crew had just finished a week on the Appalachian trail working on a relocation project so we were very hungry. Our server, Ziggy, was absolutely amazing and took excellent care of us. Ziggy gave us recommendations on what to order and ensured that we had everything we needed. The food was amazing and the portions were plenty. Will definitely come back to the Southern Craft! Ask for Ziggy!

Smoked meats are never a really bad idea; but, here: sides are good enough to take a vegetarian.

Hadn't been there five years before Covid so it had been over 11 years. They have doubled or tripled in size. We lucked out and got there at 1:30. I believe they open at 11:30 on Saturday and we hit at a perfect time we got seated. We had our drink order within a minute of being seated, the lady explained everything we waited 20 minutes and was served our meat and all our sides for those of you not familiar with the restaurant. You are served family style in case you don't know exactly what family style means is that they bring a bunch of different sides to you get to pick the meats two of them per table and they come on platters. we happen to get pork chops and fried chicken. The pork chops had a dark gravy that was almost barbecued and was a little spicy so our table didn't quite care for those so they went with the country fried steak in a second helping of fried chicken. It got busier and the fried chicken was a bit dry the second time better to do chicken salad than to eat hot although I do like piping hot fried chicken! Side dishes vary 7 to 9 different sides. They automatically bring to the table that carrot soufflé is one of our favorites. I've yet to replicate. They have Yukon gold mashed potatoes, gravy beans, and whatever beans of the day, cream corn, green beans, corn salad, fresh rolls, and fresh skillet cornbread with delicious rail butter served on a slab and room temperature so it's easy to spread. There are several meats to choose from catfish and pork chops and fried chicken buttermilk chicken, which wasn't served on Saturday but is awesome. There were pork chops, country ham there was boiled cabbage, and the time before there were pickles and apple butter and cottage cheese years ago, so their sides vary but the carrot soufflé is still wonderful. You would swear were sweet potatoes!

However, our most recent visit was just my hubbie and me for dinner before Father's Day. The fried chicken was wonderful as usual (although our server said they were running out and tried to get us to switch to ribs, but then the chicken showed up 60 secs later) but DO NOT order the grilled pork chops (they were super thin and super salty). The sides (cornbread salad, corn casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese) were consistently good as always. And the new eclair cake dessert was super yummy.

Our group decided on the fried chicken and the steak and gravy. I had asked if half of our group (12 people) can pick 2 meats and the other half 2 other so we can all try stuff. They said the only way we could do that was to pay $7 extra per person, thats ridiculous. Do NOT get the "steak and gravy".... literally nothing steak about it. It was disgusting it was like a mushy tasteless meatloaf style creation. We got the carrot soufflés which is seasonal and that was delicious. The ground itself is beautiful. We were told to walk around the ground and that we could walk in the buildings but they were all closed up. Also.. they do NOT let you take leftovers home.. such a Waste.
