It was Cinco de Mayo, and I wanted some Mexican food. I decided to try Ole Ole. I ordered enchiladas, an avocado salad, and chips with pico de gallo. I was so sadly disappointed with my entire order. Although the portion sizes were generous, the chicken in my enchilada didn't taste right and was overcooked, my avocado was starting to brown and was on top of what seemed like sacked lettuce. I could have made a better salad at home. Whomever packed my salad also did a poor job. It leaked all over the take out bag. And...You know how you crave restaurant chips and salsa, etc? Well, my chips were going stale. Also probably bought in bulk. Nothing I ordered tasted fresh. Unfortunately, I will not order from Ole Ole again nor will I visit their restaurant. read more

The location is cool and very colorful. They play common Latin America music. The employees are very friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The food. I had three tacos. The portion of meat within each taco is plenty for two tacos , I should have only order two. The Carnitas were very traditional, a little greasy for my taste but over all good. The Pastor as always at most Portland Mexican restaurants is just not that great. The Carne asada was good. I did enjoy the pico that they serve the tacos with. I would come back and try some of the other food choices. The food pricing is not bad $3 a taco. Watch out for the red salsa it's on the spicy side, the green salsa is very good. One drawback is the lack of parking I had to loop around a few times prior to finding a spot. read more

Wow! The portion sizes are indeed very generous. Got three Alaskan wild cod tacos for 3$ each, jarritos soda and a side of guacamole and chips. The three tacos each come with two tortillas and two ish slices of fish and a hefty portion of pico and lettuce, so if you play your cards right, you could get two tacos out of each one. The green hot sauce is awesome! Service was attentive, kind, and food came out unbelievable quickly. I will say, the guac was fully blended and inauthentic, but goes very nicely on their tacos. Delicious food in a small but vibrant ship with excellent service. No credit card payments is a bit of a bummer, but not a biggie. Green chili burrito was massive and delicious; on of the best I've found in the area. Carnitas taco was also superb! Tingas was a little sweet and not smoky/spicy enough for my personal taste but very flavorful and I'm sure many people would love it. Excellent horchata as well. Very very very good. First visit i had the breakfast burrito with barbacoa substituted in. Outstanding. Also had a chorizo taco. Next visit i ordered the 'ole' burrito. A chili relenos burrito. Absolutely superb. Burritos are $9 and huge. You might be full but you'll keep eating because hot smokey flavored burrito dosed in green sauce feels so good to eat. Another Mexican place that can't put just cheese on a corn tortilla. Pretty sure they used to do this for me before. They have corn tortillas. They have cheese. They put the two together on tacos if you ask. Order without the meat and it's suddenly too hard. This place told me it was too small. It's for a kid with gluten allergy so small is fine, but still no. Other food is fine but guess I'll have to find another place when out with the kid. Shame, I used to like this place. I want to preface this by saying I am a so cal transplant. So in saying that I have literally been spoiled with good Mexican food all my life. I got the burrito dinner plate. The guy at the counter was super chill. The asada mid at best. Could use A LOT more sabor. The sides were standard. The cheese wasn't even melted on the beans. The chips were good. The salsa had no spice and it tasted like it had Italian seasoning in it. I know weird. But it just did. Nice atmosphere, they play good music. And controlled parking is always a plus. It's amazing how a small business like this is either trying to avoid paying taxes or doesn't want to spend the few cents I it takes to do business. Amazing! Only complaints is the indoor seating seemed to be closed & with how spicy the salsa is, I'd need refills on my drink. They definitely need to add fountain drinks for wimps like me. This was a bare bones taco experience. But bare bones doesn't mean no flavor. The place is very small but lots of seating done strategically. You must bring cash to pay or pay with Venmo. Order at the counter and someone will bring to you. Parking outside is very limited in their lot. There are 8 shared spots with the places next door and they are each 20 minutes. You can also park on the street outside of the small lot. Jumex and Tecate drink options... no margaritas here. I had Asada, carnitas, al pastor, and barbacoa. Corn tortillas doubled up and they bring you red and green hot sauces for topping. I ordered 4. Fresh pico on top. I would have wanted the barbacoa hotter but the flavor was still really smokey and delicious. The carnitas was probably my favorite. Everything was just so flavorful and delicious and the proteins tasted like they had been slow cooked for hours in their seasonings and that's what made them especially enjoyable. Four tacos $11 and I was stuffed. Absolutely stuffed. Even though they put cheese on a few of their options they are still very close to authentic having also had tacos in Mexico. Delicious. I repeated a few times that he got my order wrong and he insisted he didn't. Not the end of the world but not the best customer service. BRING CASH!! They have an ATM in the restaurant but who wants to pay the extra fees. The inside of the restaurant was nothing worth mentioning either positive or negative and there were tables outside. Got the food home smelling the goodness all the way home. The carnitas was good. Not greasy and had good flavor. I prefer more seasoning as this was on the mild side. Good portion with tasty rice beans and a nice amount of guacamole and sour cream. The tortillas that came with the plate was basic and nothing worth mentioning. The carne asada plate was pretty good. Some of the meat was well seasoned and tender while others were tough and lacked flavor. The beans, rice, and everything else was the same as the carnitas plate. What a little gem! This is a very small diner with limited seating. They accept CASH ONLY. There is an ATM available inside. We order a chicken burrito, carne asada burrito and cactus tacos and a side a chips and guacamole. EVERYTHING was delicious! The burritos are HUGE! The cactus tacos are a must try. The fountain drink machine was down but they also serve Jarritos and a variety of other bottled/ canned sodas and bottled/canned beers. So glad we stopped in to try this place.
