So the wife and I went to this quaint little store and was absolutely astonished at 1. The cleanliness of the store itself & 2. The inventory of the store as well. It's Much Thanks to this market that I'm able to cook one of my favorite dishes on this planet (Crawfish Etouffee). No mystery meats to be found store wide. Thank God for this stores existence. I make my own beef jerky and I can definitively say that Ole Timey Meats is the best place for me to get my beef! I've made 6 batches with meat from 5 different places, and my cuts from Ole Timey Meats were the fan favorite by a long shot. Of the five different butchers I visited here locally, this place is the only place that knew exactly what to do when I asked for my meat cut "for jerky"...three places all looked at me like I had 9 eyes and one place told me they wouldn't cut meat to order. Ole Timey Meats is the most expensive of the places I checked out, but for the far superior taste, texture, and ease of service, I am more than willing to pay that little extra bit. You get what you pay for! Their prices are absolutely reasonable, so don't think that because they're the most expensive that it means they're TOO expensive. Not the case at all. Staff has been really nice every time I've been, they're helpful, and knowledgeable. They have a TON of different barbecue sauces, marinades, seasonings, spices, and other little goodies that it'll make any meat enthusiast giddy! They offer some really fairly priced packages of meats and a bunch of great seafoods, too. Ole Timey Meats has gained a loyal customer from me! It's a solid 40 minute drive from my house to get over to them, but it's worth it! read more

The butchers are excellent, very courteous and knowledgeable to answer any questions about anything they sell for. They have the most lean cuts of meat with less fat as possible, everything is sold fresh!!! They do offer frozen food products, from frozen peas, okra, butter beans. Frozen boxes of turkey wings, , pork, lamb & chicken & chicken wings; especially good for tailgating or game parties, also dips; The Ole Timey Meat Market is another hidden treasure, for the Rosewood Drive Community. They always have weekly specials, all the time..it's very clean inside. Stopped by here for the first time today. The store was very spacious and clean. The customer service was great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I don't normally go to butcher shops but I wanted to try their dry aged ribeye. Even though I was only getting a single item the guy who helped me was really nice and helpful! Tried this place on Thursday. Just picked out a couple of items we needed and looked things over. We'll be back! Really liked the selections. This time we just got some simple chicken breasts, steaks, beef tips, and a couple frozen veal cutlets. Have already cooked & eaten most. They have all your usual choice cuts of basic meats, different types of marinated items, freezer selections offer more specialty sausages, unique meats. Everything looked really good & was presented in clean cases. What we've eaten has been flavorful and good. I like how the meat wrapping is done. Easy to work with immediately or put in the freezer for later. Don't have to worry about freezer burn if you do freeze. Easy to unwrap when prepping. Great difference from grocery store packaging. My husband really liked the customer service. From the size the tips were cut to the amount in the package. The guy handling our request checked to make sure we were getting what we wanted. I was asked frequently if I wanted anything or needed help finding something. Although they did NOT push. I appreciate that, sometimes I'm thinking something through, or planning in my head and not quite ready. You can come in and get an item or two, they also offer "bundle" specials including a range of popular meat cuts. Overheard a request for something from another customer and they advised her to call ahead for something special and they would get it and have it ready for her. Primarily a butcher shop, but they had a small, comprehensive selection of complement items so that you could walk in and come out with the makings of an entire meal. (Well, except salad items - come on it IS a meat place.) Wine, baking potatoes, sweet potatoes, marinades, sauces, dips, seasonings. Also had some grills & grilling supplies. Very good prices for a meat market! Not necessarily great for a tight budget, but I wouldn't walk in here when that's the case. You get the quality you pay for. read more

Great place to get fresh and local meats. The staff is friendly even when it's busy. The prices are higher than a supermarket but you really get your moneys worth with the quality. My only complaint would be that their parking lot is small and in a pretty awkward spot. read more

Just bought a whole tenderloin (6 lbs. at $18.00 a pound); they offered to trim and tie it off. When they finished, I had 3 1/2 lbs. of meat. Either they cut off 2 1/2 pounds of fat (doubtful) or the butcher was a little too vigorous with her cleaver. I asked for scraps for my dogs, but really feel like I paid for 2 1/2 pounds of meat I should have received. I am furious and feel cheated. Will not do that again! read more

I always shop at this establishment for my steaks but after today I will not be bringing my business back here. And maybe for them my small amount of business won't matter but as a business owner myself I hope my review helps them reevaluate how they treat their costumers. We rushed over tonight before closing and had 25 minutes until they closed. Walked in a waited in line because there was a costumer in front of us. Didn't see any filets in the cooler so a lady with short brown hair came up and asked us what we needed. I asked if there was anymore filets without bacon and she said with this huge attitude that she was already wrapping some. She was very rude in her responses to us like we were bothering her to have to cut some meat for us. Was rude and disrespectful. Her attitude made me walk out as my boyfriend paid. If she didn't want to help us I would have waited for the other guy working. Will not be back to get treated as if I'm bothering her. read more

Ok... So, I have been looking nonstop for some good boudin. That is a dietary staple to anyLouisianian. Anyhoo... I was told Olde Timey Meat Market had it, which they kinda do. What they had in stock was from two brothers who moved from Louisiana to Florida and decided to make boudin. They should've decided to make something else. ANYthing else. Other than that tiny issue, the particular OTMM location I went to (Lexington by Pavilion theater) was top notch. If all locations could maybe start carrying some Richard's or Savoie's Boudin instead of that not boudin in stock already, that would be great. read more

I fell in love with this meat market! There is no "butcher" odor, and the meats are the best I've ever found. I got 15 days worth of meat for 2 people for less than $60.00!
