Awesome hand lotions, hair perfumes, Turkish towels (I got a great grape [okay, just plain purple] and pink one that's got teal on the other side -- just beautiful and so soft, ooh, what luxury! Turkish towels are awesome because they take up less space and dry far more quickly than other, thicker towels, so of course they end up both smelling much better and being a lot more hygienic. The orange-scented hand lotion is super-luxe, too, with a rich creamy feel and excellent scent. I got the amber hair perfume. The rugs are really nice, with just enough texture balanced together with softness and sturdiness all together in one piece -- and there is an amazing selection of different colours of these area rugs available, all rolled up nicely in a cool basket. Speaking of baskets, they've got them! The baskets have a real beachy vibe and would be perfect for a day (or a week, or more!) at the beach. They're real sturdy and stand up well on their own, unlike some other floppier baskets or of course beach bags out there .... The baskets are also really good for shopping, too. There are cookbooks, fun cooking and cleaning supplies such as the never-before-seen-by-me ravioli-shaped sponges and oh-so-many things to explore, I wouldn't want to ruin it for you by telling you more! The person I encountered was super-helpful, friendly, nice, accommodating, etc. The parking is plentiful (At least it was when I was there.), and if you like pretty, flowery things, there is also a lovely gardening center just steps away ... plus lots of other stuff nearby to explore in Kensington! Very glad I stopped by! Only thing is: it's closed on Mondays. Oh, and I love the name, too! Olive & Loom -- even the name has texture and beauty in it .... A very 'Yay' type of find, indeed! It is a great place to shop for a gift for the friend who has pretty much everything. There are food items such as honey, salt, pepper mills, etc. A wide variety of goat soaps are on display. There are desk items, kitchen items, pet supplies, and novelty items. I picked up a glass bottle with colorful candle/fireplace matches for my candle loving daughter and a bag of peanut butter dog treats for the pups. It's a unique art school combined with artists' workshops on three levels. They offer an array of classes for artists and for novice looking for a fun hobby. The classes posted that I saw were for drawing,painting, and live model drawing. Some studio rooms were quite small, while other room were larger for classes/workshops. I came for the grand opening celebration. The founder's young son was greeting people at the door and giving a well rehearsed explanation of all they had to offer. I was impressed. It was quite fun going in all the rooms and meeting some of the artists. I hope to visit again soon... maybe partake in a class one day.

What a beautiful gem we have in Kensington!…read more I was on my way to my niece's graduation and needed a flower arrangement. It was last minute and thought of just stopping by at the convenient store. I googled and this cute shop popped up! Store is on Howard avenue right in front of quality tires. There's plenty of parking right in front. Upon arrival the door was locked but there was a sign that let me know to ring the doorbell. Someone answered right away and came to open the door! I wasn't sure what I was getting. The person at the front desk let me know there were some pre-made arrangements or they could make one for me ! I opted for the personalized bouquet. I chose sunflowers and variations on blush and pink colors. The price was reasonable and she let me know the arrangement would be ready in 30 minutes. I ran a couple errands and stopped by to pick them up after. They were absolutely beautiful! The overall process was easy, questions were answered and my flowers were ready relatively fast! They offer delivery service as well. Overall I'm very happy and pleased with my personalized arrangement. I will definitely come back for more flowers in the future !
