My aunt introduced me to this shop - it's one of my favorite places to buy clothes in DC!

This review was originally posted on "The Bridal Salon at Saks Jandel" Yelp page on 8/10/2013…read more.. Went into Saks Jandel today after receiving several emails about a huge sale they were having. Actually, wanted to check out a few cocktail dresses for some upcoming galas but figured I would also browse their sample sale bridal gowns (just for ideas). That place looked like a zoo! I'm starting to wonder if it was actually a going out of business sale which would explain why the sales associates seemed to care less about helping customers or if there was another underlying reason why no one assisted me or even acknowledged my presence. When I walked in there were sales racks everywhere, I felt like I had walked in a Marshall's or Ross. Spotted a few associates, no one spoke or even attempted to make eye contact with me. I continued to walk around for several minutes, still nothing. Eventually, picked up a cute purple cocktail dress and still no one approached me or acted like they were interested in making a sale. Oh well. Would've at least like to try the dress on but I don't patronize places where I am clearly not welcome. Continued to walk around still nothing, so I left vowing to never go back. I shop at upscale department stores, namely Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, all the time and have never experienced anything like this. Definitely will not be returning to Saks Jandel ever again. If you decide to go there, don't say I didn't warn you. 2/8/14 I was asked by a Saks Jandel Bridal Salon representative to remove my review from August since it was about Saks Jandel, not specifically their bridal salon. Again, my review speaks solely to my experience at Saks Jandel, not their bridal salon.

Once I made my selection we walked to a piercing room and got started. My piercer, Amber, was incredible! She showed me options for placements, gave me the pros and cons of each placement, and remained patient as I went back and forth between the options. The piercing was a little spicy, but not intolerable. I can definitely see myself coming back for more. I think the price for the service is very reasonable, but the jewelry price is on the more expensive side. I thought about getting multiple piercings, but chose to just get one based on the price of the jewelry alone. I could see myself coming back in the future because the experience was so enjoyable. Definitely better than any experience I have had in a tattoo shop! They also give you quality aftercare instructions and spray.

Wear it Well is a special place mainly for the women who run and work there. Located in the heart…read moreof downtown Bethesda, this store offers middle to high-end brands in casual and work lines. Plenty of Michael Stars, 525 America Sweaters, and some other more unusual very unique boutique lines. A small store with extremely well-selected inventory. But the highlight of Wear it Well, which I feel is best for women 30 and up, is the longtime owners and employees. I walked in today, told them I wanted to toss my wardrobe out the window, and they proceeded (not overselling, not oversolicitously) to help me come up with some great ideas, good combinations, and a host of things I wouldn't have picked out b/c I'm stuck in my own dull clothing groove. They really worked with me to ensure that I found some special things, and I don't think I'll toss the clothes I bought out the window with the others b/c they do push my proverbial envelope. That's what I needed. When the economy hits hard...and even when it doesn't...I make an extra effort to shop locally. Wear it Well is the kind of carefully merchandised, very well-run boutique that will earn your loyalty. Before you drive to the mall, walk down the street and visit these great gals. Watch out...they talked me into buying an absurdly expensive belt even though I don't wear belts. You know, I think it will become one of my favorite purchases ever! Plus, it's so pricey, I'm going to wear it to sleep every night no matter what.

Saks in Chevy Chase is a throwback to a more genteel era. Stores like this used to have snooty…read morereputations but nowadays I always find the staff very friendly and welcoming. While the standalone men's store across the District line is now sadly gone, the third floor is now the men's department and has just a good of a selection as the old store. What I like about Saks compared to Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales is that Saks still has a top notch, high quality private label collection of menswear basics. In addition, their sales can be great, especially on the private label clothes. The new parking lot arrangement is very odd. When you park you have to scan a QR code, pay for parking, and then Saks can give you a discount code inside that makes it free. It's a lot of steps for what used to be just handing over a validation ticket. Given that the clientele here skews quite old, I can't imagine this change has gone over well. If you are a regular customer, your sales associate can register your plate and then you don't need to go through this whole rigamarole each time.

I called their customer service about it. The wait was not too long. The customer service representative could not find anything about it. He seemed annoyed by my request. He gave me the phone number of a third party company that handles their credit card transaction to confirm whether the transaction went through or was a hold. He was ready to hang up to get rid of me. Why should I call a different company? Anyways, I did it, after being on hold for 20 minutes, the other representative was just as clueless, did not ask for any information. Once I told him it was an amex card, he told me they only handle visa and mastercard transactions. Now I need to call Saks again to find the subsidiary that handles their amex transaction?! What a horrible waste of time, and inefficient workflow. They should have audit logs in place for their representatives to access and understand what went wrong. They just had zero explanation and wasted my time for nothing.

I am sorry, I forgot the sales ladies name but she was so nice and helpful. I really appreciated her assistance. The prices were high, but again you are paying for the unique crafted gifts. The pillow I wanted was $200. That was out of my budget. But, I am sure someone will love it. I will definitely return, because they had a gift selection for people who play mah Jong. I am sure my friends would really enjoy one of their gift items. I am glad I stopped by.
