Very bad. We ordered lula kabob. They were all burnt and dry. Tasted anything except Lula kabob. The tomatoes coming with lule were not barbequed properly and were like a regular row tomato. The rice coming with lula was really little and dry and even not cooked. Will never go to this restaurant anymore and won't recommend anybody. The best is Raffi's kabob. read more

Ditto all the other 5 star reviews! Not too hard to get from Seattle to Tacoma via Sound Transit, which stops around the corner, or on Amtrak if they are operating on time. Often, they are not. And don't miss the HUGE Tacoma used book Center near by. The should join up and have a Literacy-Tea promotion! Truly amazing Victorian décor and excellent pastries and lighter-than-every-other-scones. (Egg, chicken and tuna Sandwiches were 4 star, but that's just a taste thing) One of us ordered from the menu, and said that her Reuben was the best she'd ever had. On our Thursday visit, they gave us 5 our own room. Even if you are not bringing kids, don't miss a peek at the princess corner. There are many nooks and crannies for most group sizes. They were incredibly kind and responsive when Amtrak messed up our schedule, and we had last minute changes. Unfailingly polite service. Very much appreciated. Since the closure of our former first choice tea room, Cederberg South African tea room, I wish that Olive Branch would order their cook book, and make their pasties and Malva cake. First time eating here, probably won't bother again. The service was good. The place looks nice enough. The pita bread was completely flavorless. I never expect pita to taste like anything in particular since it's more about holding things that do have flavor, but if you've ever made bread and forgot to add in a bit of salt, then you know how inedibly bland it comes out. The pita came with unsalted butter that was also flavorless so the pita had no taste at all even covered in butter. I had to add table salt to it just so it didn't feel like eating paper. It was okay with the entree later but saltless bread is such a weird taste I didn't much bother with it. It tasted so much like someone forgot to add salt to the dough that I honestly have no idea if they bake the pita there and it was just a rare oversight or what. Maybe it's not normally like that. Then the salad was awful and flavorless too. It was watery, the tomato was very mushy, and the dressing barely tasted like anything. So if you get something that comes with salad as an option, pick any other option. By the time the entrees came out, I was expecting them to be awful. Fortunately the entrees were good. The rice that came with them was very good. You get a decent amount of food for the price. There's just a lot of similar restaurants around that are better overall; the pita and salad were so bland it put me off, to be honest. read more

When I'm in the area I come here to order one thing.. kabobs! Of course they have other items on the menu but why would you order anything else when theres kabobs on the menu!? You really can't go wrong, steak, chicken, both, vegies, etc. They're all grilled to perfection and filling. I was amazed to find a Persian restaurant this good out this way. I have gotten Persian food this good only in Beverly Hills and Westwood. The authentic dishes are wonderful. I'm partial to the kasht y bademjun, which is tahini and eggplant. They really have that one down. Their traditional grilled meats and rice and fine and their gormi sabzi was outstanding. This place used to be one of our favorite places to order from, until I ordered their lamb shank with chelo. There was a small shard of glass in the rice, small enough that I didn't see the but large enough that I bit into it and thought my tooth broke! My husband called them immediately and they were very nice about replacing it, but by the time the replacement arrived I had already lost my appetite. Fast forward two days later, I decided to pull the replacement out of the fridge and snack on it until dinner was ready. When I bit into something hard AGAIN in the rice I about lost my mind! I looked through it and at first thought it was a piece of bone from the lamb shank, but I rinsed it off and realized it was a rock. There was a rock in the replacement they sent to make up for the glass shard I bit into. TLDR: glass in first rice, rock in second rice. Examine your order very very carefully before you take a bite! read more

Hmm where to start.... When my mom and I first walked in, the owner of the restaurant was at the counter but once he saw us, he turned his head and immediately walked to the back. [minus 1 star already] The waitress on duty saw us and walked us to a table by the window. She was pleasant enough but seemed very disinterested in us and walked away after seating us with menus without a word. The table was sticky & the ground had lots of crumbs even though there were no other patrons in the restaurant. [minus another star] Once the waitress finally came back, she took only our drink orders, even though we were ready =/ She brought back our drinks but my glass was SUUPER dirty! [minus ANOTHER star] We ordered 2 Greek salads & one of the specials - first of all, when you say salad, wouldn't you expect lettuce? I do. When she brought the salads, I was surprised, there was no lettuce in sight. In my "salad" I had about a whole diced red pepper, one whole diced yellow pepper, and one whole diced green pepper. I like my peppers as much as the next person but I don't remember ordering a pepper salad.. oh yeah, when she came back, she noticed I had taken out the peppers and put them on a separate plate and said as she took the plate and walked away: "Next time you should tell me you don't like peppers." WTF!? How am I supposed to know there would be 3 whole peppers in place of my salad?! [minus a star again.] The special we ordered was a beef something plate with a side of rice, this dish was good, the meat was a little bland but still was good. Now, the prices weren't bad but for those prices, we could've went to a better spot down the street. Overall, I will definitely not be returning nor would I recommend it. I ordered out food Last Night thinking I would get Delicious Tiger Shrimp, Chicken Barg Plate and Sides to go with it. No such luck... The food Arrived and the minute it did I smelled a Fishy Odor. It was the shrimp plate. The shrimp wasn't cooked properly, it was Yellowish in color and it smelled aweful. The vegetables that were grilled with it and rice smelled and tasted like rotton shrimp. I couldn't eat it. Then I ordered Chicken and it wasn't cooked either and it was the wrong kind of chicken. There was also a Metal staple found inside the box with my chicken plate. This is my second review of this restaurant. While the food is still wonderful, the service has tanked. The first several times we went we had the same waiter and he was wonderful. The last couple of times we have gone in our waiter wasn't there and the people who did wait on us treated us as if we were intruding. The woman on our most recent trip acted as if we were diseased. When we walked in the restaurant she didn't even say a word to us; merely turned up her nose, grabbed some menus and stalked over to a table. They MIGHT get one more chance to turn the tables again, but this restaurant is quickly falling off our favorites list. read more

I've driven by dozens of times and finally decided to visit for dinner. While I found the food to be pretty good, the service was very bad. There was only one server/cashier/host for the entire restaurant, and so we went without any refills on drinks the entire meal. I saw other customers looking around for the server, and finally just getting up to get their bill and pay it at the host's table. Empty, unbussed tables throughout the dining room. I had to leave behind an almost untouched plate of food that I wanted to take home but that sat out too long waiting for someone to come bus our table and bring me a box. It's too bad...as I said, the food is decent Mediterranean but I'll never be ok with paying for inferior service. I will not return, and judging by the three other tables that seemed as aggravated and disappointed as me, I doubt they'll be back, either. read more

I checked online to make sure this restaurant was doing take out and delivery only and it was, as far as I could tell. So I was pretty taken aback to find a restaurant FULL of people at crowded tables this afternoon when I went inside to pickup some lunch. The guy working at the front counter was wearing his mask around his chin while talking to a patron who wasn't wearing a mask at all. A quick glance at the kitchen staff through the door did allow me to see that at least some of them were wearing face shields. The food was fine but I won't be back. read more

I've eaten from this restaurant three times. The first two experiences were not great but not terrible, the last was terrible. First visit they gave us menus and we ordered. A few minutes later a "regular" customer came in and asked for the lunch menu. We inquired "whats the difference?" between the lunch menu and the menus we ordered from (didn't say lunch or dinner on the menu). The server acted like there was no difference but ultimately we got the lunch menu and the prices were several dollars cheaper for lunch. It was 12:30 in the afternoon so we weren't too happy with this switch of the menus and then the hesitancy to give the right menu/price. The next two times were for delivery food. The online menu said our dish came with rice but no rice was delivered. Called and inquired about the rice and they couldn't have cared less just saying sorry, it no longer comes with rice. The vegetarian platter came with bland hummus, hot stuffed grape leaves mixed right in with the cold food so the whole plate was lukewarm. The falafel were very dried out. Our full entrees came with only a single pita bread each and those were cold, hard and just plain yucky. And of course there was no rice. Then when the delivery girl showed up the bill was $27 and we had $40 (2 twenties) and she said she only had $7 in change, which she had in her hand ready to hand to me. I believe she had already figured that we would likely have $40 and she was getting a $6 tip, which she did. Third times a charm, I will never eat here again. read more

Their stuffed grapes with sour yogurt dipping sauce was awesome. My date and I shared two entrees as well. Yikes - hate to go against the flow on this one but what a disappointing meal. Arrived on Monday at approx. 4:00pm for dinner. The owner(?) was standing on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant smoking. He did wash his hands before he escorted us to a table but still - yucky yucky. My husband and I were the only diners. There was a table full of dirty dishes next to us that was eventually cleared but the old food/dirty dishes had obviously been there for some time. The menus were filthy as was the sticky floor. Lentil soup was great as was the yoghurt/garlic dip but the wine we requested was not available and ditto for the dessert. Won't be back! read more
